Ojd I understand what you mean totally! If I was entering I'd want to have smoked all the other entries myself. Imagine coming second but not knowing what the entry thats a little bit better than yours was like, man I'd be pissed.
Perhaps rather than being judges those who entered could just get a pack of the other enteries in their catergory and no judges card at all. That way all those entering get to try out the competition but their opinion can't effect the vote. I realise since each entry is only quite a small amount this wouldn't be very feasible, just a thought.

maybe one year they'll incorporate a private "entrants session" just an open session where all those taking part can have a wee look at the other entries and talk about how they achieved this thing or that thing or the other thing...of course that would require them to donate more samples, and it's certainly not for me to say whether they should or shouldnt.

From memory of last year getting a smoke of an entry whether you are a judge or not shouldn't be a problem. If in doubt look for the slightly perturbed person with the bulging sample bag, form & loads of 3/4 spliffs in the ashtray and ask which one there up to. 30 sample 48 hours IME it was smoke, write notes and pass it on repeatedly.

I cannot understand attending and not judging.... or have I missed something ?

last year there were enough people to fill the greenhouse coffeshop maybe 100-150 ,not sure on the amount of judges but maybe 30

the judging is a pretty hard task and not everbody is up for the job ,,most attendees go to meet up with friends

What I did last year was take a look through EdElephants samples...If you are a true smoker as I know you guys are you can get a good idea what you are up against by looking through and smelling each sample...There is a whole lot you can tell by this and can see what is up to par this way...I can certainly understand you wanting to know what the other entries are like and this is why I think and oz,,+ another 1/2 would allow a few joints of each sample to be smoked by the competitors and attendees that do not judge....
It is not fare for any competitors to judge though as it is impossible to make sure people do not vote for themselves and skew the overall voting in a cannabis cup-like voting scheme..
I realize it is tough to send over an ounce and a half of smoke but this is the only way I can see getting a fair shake and still getting to test the entries.......
Just a thought...Maybe next year the rules can be changed to allow a more thourough testing by judges AND participating members......

ta 4 the info tho'... interesting that so many just want to hang out & not take part
it is not like the ht cup, there are only 30 judges passes if they do it like last year. 1 gr of each entry per judge. eveyone else who comes is there for a good time with fellow stoners
I have not been to the HT cup, but if there are only 30 judges & 100 watchers...well.... it seems like being invited on to a porn shoot and not being asked to 'contribute'
I am sure it is fun and everybody else has a really good time allround, but I would want to have a go at smoking the things people are talking about.
I´ll be one of them. Ihope to get a ticket like last year!!!! The samples were amazing and delicious!!!!

I know the doubt enter ore test. I will enter this year maybe next year i will judge. Got to much to smoke anyway this time. See you guys soon.
