Shit I've forgot my Mobil/cel

What going on in the world that wee live in ,
I remember the days before Mobil phones (shit I was lucky to have a house phone)....I would go out with my buddy's first thing and come home late at night..nothing was ever said . unless I came back to late,,not that my parent didn't care because they did. I like to think I have manners and respect for most things..
As said we never had mobil phone so life was a wee bit more free yes? No?...
Now skip forward a few decades and phone are everywhere you cant go anywhere with out your phone....why? Fear in case anything happen?..incase you brake down.incase you see some crazy shit..incase .......fuck everything...again why?....it drives me fucking crazy when people have to have there phone...I've had to turn back as my wife has forget her phone..my daughter can't go anywhere without hers...and then there is me...now I don't use my phone a lot ,I don't do the whole social media shit so only use mine as a phone(and to buy the odd Scotty Cameron) ..I hate the fact that people can't go/do anything without there Mobil phone nowadays...YET I still have to have mine at all times and find myself asking my daughter to make sure her phone is charged when she goes out+ to send me a text when she gets wher she's going,,I phone the wife to let her know am finished golf, finished work <<<<<<< work wtf I finish at the same time lol...I've got my phone all the time yet I still hate the fact wee have to have them at all times.
What is happening to me/us.....

well, you're gonna love this then.

I was paying by cell bill by phone one day and asked the rep how many minutes I'd used last month, "3" was her reply. "And the month before that?" I asked, "4 minutes" she told me.

"I'd like to cancel my account then please."

I no longer have a cell phone, and believe me, living in very rural minnesota means 15-20 miles between small towns, lots of highway to break down on etc, but $17 a month for a few minutes use seemed ridiculous to me.

oh yeah, it's been about 6 months now, fuck it.

I pay $150!!! N I would feel lika dumbass wo being connected. I use it every day n hav surfed icmag on my phone for years. (Fuk security I'm in co)
I couldn't imagine going back to the Stone Age.

Hopefully one day I can do the same thing...when I move out to the country I will have all I need on my land and I can ditch it...if people want me they will know where I am...well if I tell them to start with....

It's true what mr brunch sayed above.....its like people have lost one off the arms and walk around like some sorts zombies on the phones.....

I saw 2 work men the other day sitting at each end of a playing fields having dinner and on there phones....wtf. It's a sad day when workers cant be bothered to sit and chat between then selfs and world rather be sitting on there phones sad sad sad......it's also true that the younger generation of people/zombies lack in the basic people skill

Prepaid Verizon (one of the most expensive but they usually have service everywhere) is only $30 every 90 days. And the time "rolls over" which means the minutes you don't use you keep. You just can't let it elapse for more than a day or two. I think mine has like $80 in minutes or something. I got the cheapest phone too, but it has an audible caller ID. Which is cool because when I went to Verizon I started getting all these telemrketer robo calls. That do-not-call list the gov did doesn't work so good anymore. Now I only answer it if it says a name I have in my contacts or says a number I recognize. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

I just wanted to add, that per agrrement between the gov't and yhe phone companies, emergency calls (911 stateside) are supposed to still work on a cell even with expired minutes. So I keep an old used Tracphone in my car. And a car charger for it. But I don't really know if that works. I never tried it because I never wanted the piggies showing up somewhere out of the blue.

I pulled into a convenience store the other day and in the car parked next to me was a guy and girl in the front seat and a kid in the back (family ??). All three were staring at and fiddling with their phones. I thought to myself…what’s wrong with that picture.

I manage a small investment fund, so I'm on the computer a bit...sort of have to be in the know. I own both a tablet and phone, they allow me a freedom that in the past was unheard of...stop limits only go so far, having access to current changes is invaluable. Feeling like I'm missing an arm without it...not so much. Having both though, has proven invaluable.

I am more than a little sick about how dependant I have become on my phone. I do feel wonky if I forget my phone. Its for business reasons but it is nice to get updates to have the peace of mind my wife is ok. I don't do social media either, but having Google in my pocket is just the cats ass. If I have that when I was a kid I'd be standing on mars right now. And that brings me to the point, how are kids these days so fucking dumb? Not all of them of course but most I know don't know shit. How is that with all the info in the world at their finger tips?

We used to break down, hitchhike or walk to a PAY phone, get a ride, go to the LIBRARY, look at the manual, WRITE down what we needed...etfc.

Our new policy with investors/ clients/ friends is to pile up the phones when going out to dinner....first one to pick up and check their phone pays for the eve...problem solved, not many takers on this one.

Pay n go is the way to go... If you don't use the phone a lot just put cash on and it doesn't expire.
With my network you put cash on, then either just use that or buy a package of mins/texts/data with it.
