week 11 and cut

week 11 and cut

a better picture, and this was pretty pheno
bummed that it's not a better pic, still squeezing my pennies, luxuries come last
very purple pheno, no trace of roosters, the rule for this genetic line stays intact
100% hermie or 100% not
nose is interesting, sweet onion i would call it
maybe a half oz, just enough, hoping the new year in NY lets me up my game(legally)

a month of dry and cure, time for a mini smoke report
yield - less than 1 oz more than 1/2, not much for weighing smaller plants
nose - had some hay smell to start, but cure really improved, might be some lemon(7 of 10)
taste - kind of sucked at the start, but much better with cure, maybe a touch of lemon(6 of 10)
effect - now we're talking strong hybrid with a tilt to the sativa side, and NOT anxious(8 of 10)

the useful part to me of this genetic line is the non anxious effect
i am amazed how true it runs

day 1

i am actually keen to run other genetics
but this lot of seeds almost always produce a good usable product for my needs
so once again a s1 has been cracked
looks a little sativa, but i've learned you just can't tell what you have so soon

Epic journey.

I just read the whole log, but maybe I missed it—are you still only running the Ancient Brainwreck S1 from the original selfing batch 8 years ago, or did you start popping some more recent selfs?

It’s really nice to see what’s come from your efforts. Perhaps it gives me some better idea of what I might encounter doing something similar. I’m hoping for some fantastic bagseed revelations of my own, but to then clone.

Thanks.

still popping the ancient seeds
amazing how refrigeration preserves them, still seeing very vigorous sprouts from the seeds

flower - day 26

flower - day 26

26 days of 12/12, not bad on the whole
but it's a hermie! no joy in mudville
that said, it's currently very controllable
the degree varies somewhat, but it's later that it becomes tough to keep up with
looks good, hasn't even been fed as of the pic
and the tally is 8/8 - half perfect femmes, the other half- you know
interesting ratio, suggests this hermie trait is sex linked in some way

NL#5 x BW

NL#5 x BW

and now time for something 50% different
i have some crosses of the original BW hermie pollen
1 of which was this very strong NL#5
very wicked head rush, strong stuff
but i've decided to give it try, and i will label this little 1
****** 50% original BW *********, just to keep things straight
will this tame the hermie trait? stay tuned

NL#5 X BW - **** 50% original genetics ****

NL#5 X BW - **** 50% original genetics ****

i'm usually sparse on the show points per grow, unless there's something interesting
seeing large rounded 1st true leaves, large by my micro grows
i've seen the look else where, but not too common i think
maybe just an indica thing, but if any memories triggered feel free to educate
the plant looks to be a narrow leaf pheno at the moment, but that's hard to say for sure so early

50% ORIGINAL BRAINWRECK GENETICS
give it some time, some answers appear
what i see is showing both plant influences, really a 50/50 cross of each parent's veg
a lot of indica, but both parents had sativa like stuff inside
the nl#5 parent stretched hard in flower, and had a rocket fuel effect at the start, real rocket to mars stuff
this will be interesting, and of course the hermie trait
has it been tamed? stay tuned

Certainly suggests genetic, rather than environmental. The numbers are too small to draw conclusions from, but if genetic, there's no reason to assume its within the sex chromosome, it could still be in the autosomes.

flower 8 week+ - original genetics

flower 8 week+ - original genetics

just to keep it straight this is a BrainWreck original S1 seed, there are 2 grows in the pipe
59 days of 12/12, not a time i would normally think about cutting
but the main cola was popping out amber trichomes
i was torn, it just couldn't be fully ripe, and then on impulse i cut the upper cola off, couchlock just not acceptable
so with minimal expectations i vaped some tiny sugar leaves
this is among the strongest stuff i've ever had, and even wet it was utterly smooth flavored in the vape
strong up effect with some other good things
i'm actually considering revegging this hermie, crikey!

the other grow, the other hermie grow
it hermed, i was so hopeful this wasn't going to happen
same hermie pattern, early balls
well, it looks good, very indica look, but that doesn't compensate for them balls

time for a smoke report, interesting grow
the plant was a hermie, 8th hermie out of 16 females so far
showed a burst of ripening in the trichomes at week 8 of 12/12
initially thought it to be a very strong pheno, that's not accurate, it's a really different effect
been curing for a week or so
the smell is minimal, seems to be going to a fair nose
the taste is non existent, it has no taste, that's a 1st for me
the effect is of an incredibly focused tranquilizer
anxiety is targeted and wiped out by it, it's really unbelievable
not a heavy couch lock, there's some light up there
this is an example of what i've been looking for years
that said, reveg was a no go, it hermied nastily at the end
hoping to find some ripened seed in there, should be a few

Damn, sorry to hear it didn't reveg. Sounds like your Holy Grail.
thanks, but i didn't actually try to reveg even with the focused effect
i just can't afford the luxury of clones/revegs at the moment
i keep it small just in case i get pinched, you never know
i'll be good with a few seeds

(PPP x Cali-O) x BW S1 - day 01

(PPP x Cali-O) x BW S1 - day 01

moving right along, at least by my leisurely pace
i had a nirvana PPP x nirvana California Orange female
pollinated it with a S1 BrainWreck - one of the hermies of the 8 hermies i've grown in this thread
it was one of the best of its 'breed', some sativa feeling in there
my plan is if i can remedy the hermie trait, and keep some of the anti-anxiety
seems worth doing to me
and if nothing else it will be an interesting experiment
so far 1 cross, and that cross was a hermie, not the best start
