sole surviving sweet skunk(my first bush)

V

Vesuvius

this is my first grow and it started out kinda slow with beginner mistakes.(overwatering low temps)

i germed 10 seeds on june 21st and had 4 come up, of the 4 that sprouted only 1 made it past the first week and then sat there for a while doing nothing much.

about 12 days ago she finally started taking off, growing quickly into a bushy little thing with side branches popping out everywhere. thats the 8th node in the center starting to pop out.
shes thrown a 4 and a 8 fingered leave on nodes 3 and 4 but is now thowing out 5 7 and 9's

on my 3rd node one side has 2 side branches growing out of it.

this is a legends sweet skunk femed plant.
growing under 126w led and 6 27w 5500-6500k cfl's
2'x3'x4' closet
temps 80-82
rh 45-55%
ro water ec 1.2 ph 5.8
gh nutes
rezdog veg recipe

a little concerned about the height of the plant, i probably stunted it in its first few weeks.
thinking the side branches arent getting good light.
wondering if i should prune a few fan leaves.

here are a few picks, what you guys think?

I think you are doing Well Vesuvius. Things could have been worse than having only one survivor from a pack of seeds. Best of luck with that sole survivor, it sounds like it could be a hell of a story later
if she becomes one of your favorite keepers. :D

As far as your height is concerned, I'd bet my testicles that the heavy blue spectrum compacts are what's keeping your internode spacing so tight, and plant height down.
You could try using 2500-3500k compact bulbs (for more red) or a 50/50 mix with the daylight color if you want a little more stretch between nodes.

I personally don't think you need to defoliate her. Let her have all the growing strength she has with those leaves. She seems to be branching very well. You could FIM her now and have one hell of a compact branching mother.

Time to pat yourself on the back. She is beautiful!
:D

nice girl there. i think i would transplant now. see how plant is wider the the pot. its prob root bound. when you transplant it will really take off!!:tiphat:

hey ot thx for stoppn by,

going to transplant to 4 gallon hempy after work tommorow.
the vermiculite/perlite mix im using doesnt stick together much so i let it go a little long in this pot so the roots would hold it all together.

have taken 2 clones(my first ever) off her, one at noon yesterday and one an hour ago.
running them in a walert cloner with humidity dome.

had to add the dome yesterday when my first clone limped and sagged after an hour off the main plant.
after rigging up a dome and misting the clone she stood back up in a few hours.
the clone i took today is standing up nicely.

keeping my fingers crossed that the clones will take, gonna be an anxious week of waiting but i love it!!!

i have been doing some lst on the side branches, bending them down and out in prep for a scrog screen.

shes growing pretty fast now, sucking up more water daily.

no signs of preflowers but being mostly sativa i expected that.

my first clones are doing fine in the clonert, standing up straight and proud, havent checked for roots yet(checking on wed.)

heres a fresh pik of mom, and 1 of her little girls

Thanks for the link,
I'm sorry to see that out of 10 seeds only one survived :(
But your one plant looks like it is doing well and that you have taken a few clones off of it is great. and I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your grow.

thx for the visit GD,

yeah i loved that first batch of seeds to death, just happy 1 made it through without drowning.

since then ive held off on the watering of seedlings and the last batch i germed i ended up with 5 out of 6 viable plants. 3 aurora indica and 2 power kush.(you can see them in the fringes of the last ss shot)

i also germed that first batch at to low temps(around 70)

ive been learning from my mistakes and think im starting to hit my groove.

She looks to be in perfect health!

OMG, she's going to be a monster. I'd flip her asap.

:plant grow:i spent some time yesterday and today doing some lst with my girl.

picked up a spool of wire tie from lowes and have started bending down my side branches.

seeems to be working well, all the branches i bent down yesterday have turned their heads up.

have spotted more fem preflowers popping up in different spots.

checked my first clone for roots today and was sad to see none on it. it was warty all over the area dipped in root gel but the roots havent started to bust out.
re- dipped the cut and put her back in to bake a little longer.

heres a fresh pick of ss after some more sidebranch spreading.

You and me both!
She is very attractive if I may say so myself, and she looks like she wants to be oogled. :yoinks: :bigeye: Ya know, like that hottie who loves to see people turn their heads. Maybe it's just me, and I know I'm partial to sativa dom chicks, but she strikes my fancy. I bet she smells pretty too. ;)
Can't wait to see what she looks like at cutting time.

A cross with blueberry does sound nice. I'd like to see her crossed with flo.

Hey V,
:good: good work

V

Vesuvius

well, its day 3 of flower for the SS.
everythings going pretty good.

still dialing in my nighttime temps and rh but starting to get it under control.

She still looks pretty, and a damn good photo too.

Keep doing what you're doing, I believe you have a green thumb.

Wow those are looking great! Nice LST

What do you think of the following; 180 chemIBL or 160 SS fem? Do you have the chem IBL? Was it out yet when you got this? Shit i can only afford one, maybe i should wait til you give us a smoke report.

V

Vesuvius

thx for the comments jake and mset,

mset, i have the chem ibl but it wasnt out when i got the ss.

i wanted to start with bag seed but i havent found a seed in a sack for years.

so i figured screw it, all or nothin gonna just go big and hope the best, why waste time with bunky bag, i will make this work.

well i almost ate my words as i saw seed after seed die on me, but one hung on.

i learned a few good lessons from my first batch and have 3 others strains going behind the ss.

what im really waiting for is the sour d ibl.

i will be starting up the chemdog in a few weeks after i install a can filter into my set up.

i want to eventually get into a continuos flower cycle where im harvesting a ss 1month, a cd 1 month and an sd 1month.

the one advantage to the ss is they are femmed

heres a good flower pick.

i love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!
