2nd Indoor Grow DWC LED GSCE

28 Days into my second grow.

Here is the tent. No extraction fan except to cool the tent. CO2 is provided by a fizz pot with hydrochloric acid and limestone.

Starting to get dark green leaves as I did on my last grow.

I have .5 EC tap @ pH 7.56+/-. Once I have added nitrate pH- and Maxibloom I am currently sitting at .8 EC, thinking this would be enough. On my last (current side tent) grow (two days into flower) I mixed my tap and Maxi to 0.8 EC then added Hesi pH- to 5.4 pH so I could go through the pH swing, this took it to 1.1 EC rather than the .8 EC I wanted. Both these grows were from seed planted in small RW cubes, watered with .2 EC pH 5.5 until the tap rood left the cube then the dripper was started.Quite soon I got darkening leaves like this and some cal symptoms later, small rust spots. Someone told me to up my pH to 6.5 which I did slowly and saw relief but the plants have been very slow, max 1 cm per day.

Thanks to Douglas Curtis I have seen where I have gone wrong. Firstly my water is too high a pH as it is taking too much pH- to adjust which is then loading up the EC, which has made me cut back the nutrients to keep the EC low, my bad, in turn starving the plants giving me issues with Cal and Mag deficiencies.

I am onboard the RO train now and have ordered on to be here after the weekend. In the meantime I will be raising the EC in both the tents.

The other grow is here https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=370462

Day 31

Day 31

Had been starving the plants with 1EC as my tap is 0.6EC so I was only feeing them 0.4 EC so I have upped my EC to 1.3. This is probably what caused my deficiencies and a slight N overdose on my last grow. I have ordered an RO filter to remove the tap water from the equation.

A couple of plants are going gang busters and one is a bit of a runt.

I have topped the plants to the first or second node and have started training to build manifold.

Also took cuttings from the topped plants and inserted them into rockwool cubes that are partly submerged in plain tap water. No clonex or any nutes in the water, the last batch I did like this all worked except one and that was due to keeping it in the tent out of the light and with no airflow which caused rotting. Now the days are longer they are sitting on my window sill. Takes a little while but the roots start escaping the cubes in a month.

Plants are growing well except one that was a bit short to start with. I completely messed up two of the plants by snapping one of the branches during LST, one has semi repaired but growth is way slower, the other the branch didn't reattach so I guess it is a goner. I am just going to let these run now and quit with the manifold due to the damage.

Plants are looking great, very green and growing well especially after my ham fisted training and snapping. Will defoliate down to the colas tomorrow.

Still going well after my rough housing the plants, looks like I have a clear keeper developing, will have to see the final product though. Did a bit defoliation this week.

Plants that I didn't damage are doing really well. I have gone a bit mad with the scissors and hacked off a bunch of branches and leaves to varying degrees so I can see how they do compared to each other. These have performed much better thank the other tent since I have not been staring them.

Thanks but I am hoping these will last a decade so who knows what the future holds.

I am now 14 days into flower and everything is looking peachy. Got a little windburn on the girl in the back but hopefully my fan manoeuvring has helped.

Not totally sure how I should be pruning these whether to leave the fan leaves on or to remove them.

Everything is looking great, buds are starting to fatten up and fill the plants up, something that I missed out on on the concurrent grow.

Did have an issue with some windburn on one of the ladies but that was easily sorted.
