Sexing and Pruning.... When do I start pruning and how much should I take off?

Mouth watering pics regardless of the rotation haha, its gonna be satisfying to cut those down. Have you got a look at the trichs yet?
How are temps in there?

Hey GNZ, How's it going man? Yeah, I got a 60X - 120X microscope about 2 weeks ago and have been studying the triches closely. I'm starting to get a good amount of milky/cloudy and a few amber. Probably 25% Milky and 5% amber with the rest being clear. That's only from the small sample's I'm able to get considering the amount of time it takes to focus in on 1 bud a few times. I've dried and sampled a few small buds (without even curing) and the high is wonderful! Very intense and mostly heady with some energy. It seems to creep quite a bit too!!! I think I'm gonna harvest 1 this weekend, 1 or 2 next weekend and 1 or 2 the weekend after. Since this is my first go, I think harvesting in stages will give me a better indication for future harvests. The temps have been higher than I'd like. It's been in the 90's in my area and I've been having a hard time keeping the tent under 85°. I'm hoping I can figure out a way to chill them down to 60 the last few days. I'm also thinking about snapping some of the main stalks to stress them out hard right before harvest. Do you have any experience with these methods?

Yeah man there's a little bit of leaf curl, can you lift the light at all?

I don't have any experience with intentionally stressing the plant out right before harvest other than letting it dry out far more than usual and then giving it 24 hours of dark before chop. I do supercrop to catch light better all the way up to 6-7 weeks and have read some interesting things about girdling plants.

Hmmm, I never heard of girdling plants. i'll have to look into that.
Oh yeah, I can lift the light at least another 6 - 8 inches. Do you think that's why leaves are curling up? I've been trying to figure that out....

Certainly looks like heat stress, I'd try raising the light 6 inches and see if it's a little cooler around those tops. I don't think the extra distance will hurt yield this late in flower, the small amount of heat stress you've got probably won't either.

if you want to stress the plants in the last weeks ice water will do the trick.. start when you flush, give them cold cold water, they will produce resin in overdrive thinking winter is around the corner.. snapping stems is not a good idea.. you should crush strems.. but that you do in veg and not in flower.

Veggin - How Long Can You Go????

Anyone know if there are (or could be) any negative effects to vegging a plant too long (and what would be considered too long for that matter?)? The girls I have in veg now have been under CFL and T5's for about 2 months. I'm thinking of putting them under the 1000W MH for 2 - 4 (maybe even 6 more weeks) before I go 12/12 under the HPS. My thought is, this may help them get a good growth spurt right before flowering? I'd love to know the longest people have vegged for.

I'm glad I've been patient!!!

I'm glad I've been patient!!!

The girls are exploding!!! Fox Tailing!!!!
I'm glad I put the harvest off a week. Now the question is, do I wait one more week? I'll be making that decision this weekend. I'm starting to see a good amount of amber triches. Probably close to 50% but the sample size is so small. It takes a lot of time to examine these bitches. I can't wait until I'm complaining about how long it takes to trim lol!!!

I'd chop.

Keep all that trim seperate. If the buds alone are too strong you can mix it with some leaf and not have it take your head off.

^ agreed , I would chop. Keep that trim in the freezer until you have done a few runs , then make some lovely ice hash :)

I just watered today. Does it matter if I chop 2 or 3 days after the last watering?

It is some really potent stuff DoDad... Much more than I ever imagined it would be. And that was just from a quick 3 day dry and 3 day cure test bud.

Mr.bunch: I've been keeping all my trim since day 1. I've just been drying it out in paper bags. Is that fine? Do you suggest I wait for all the trim to dry out completely and then put it in the freezer? I guess I'm not sure what the reason for freezing it is. Should I freeze the sugar leaves only? I just ordered a trim bin to catch the keefe. It should be delivered tomorrow, CAN'T WAIT :) Not sure exactly how to use it yet but I'm looking forward to figuring it out!!! I'm guessing the trim would need to be completely dried for the pollen to make it through the screen.

Anyway, Here's an upated pic of my clone experiment that I threw right into flowering about a month ago (as soon as it started rooting). It's got 1 main cola with a couple of smaller shoots and it's about 12 inches tall now. Having fun!!! :)

Yes , if you are making dry-sift hash you would be best drying the trim first... If water hash then either is fine.
Freezing the material makes the resin glands hard so they don't split , and makes them separate from the leaf when shaken. Also keeps it as fresh as possible.
Only really worth saving leaves with resin on ( don't matter if they're big or small leaves, if they got resin then use it) but if you already got mixed leaf don't worry, it won't hurt.

I keep all my leaf, even fans.

I dry it, decarb it, grind it and make 00 capsules out of it. I take a couple of capsules every morning with my daily multivitamin as a health supplement.

Cannabis root tea has been used for thousands of years. https://sensiseeds.com/en/blog/getting-roots-cannabis/

We grow the whole plant and the whole plant is useful to us for more than just a buzz.

It's called 12/12 from clone.

As you see, 12/12 from clone doesn't produce as much flower as a plant that has a long vegetative cycle, and why you don't see many people growing this way.

Harvest Time!!!

Harvest Time!!!

Today's the day folks!!! Gonna start chopping in about 20 minutes! Wish me luck. Thank you all for your help! Here are some of the last pics taken before chopping. I'll keep y'all posted for sure!

Well yes, good luck!

The only thing you have to concern yourself with now, is mold.

Just make sure your drying method is a as solid as your growing method and you shouldn't have any issue.

Whatever you do, don't rush drying it and remember it's better for it to be too dry, than not dry enough. I learned this lesson the hard way.

If you over dry it, you can always use the Broveda 62 packs. http://www.bovedainc.com/solutions/herbal/

But if you under dry it, mold will likely grow and everything must be thrown away.
