Sexing and Pruning.... When do I start pruning and how much should I take off?

Well yes, good luck!

If you over dry it, you can always use the Broveda 62 packs. http://www.bovedainc.com/solutions/herbal/

But if you under dry it, mold will likely grow and everything must be thrown away.

That's funny... I ordered those Brovada packs 'just and case' and they were delivered yesterday. Here are some pics of trimmed bud and the final yield drying.

Yields always look like they would weigh more when growing than after trimmed and dried.

As long as you keep humidity in that room at around 50-60%% and the temps around 70-80 you should be fine. Keep them hanging until the stem "snaps", and not just bends and you should be fine.

Good job.

Here are a couple pics of the end product. They're not the best buds from the bunch, just a couple random ones but they represent the majority of the 12 Z's of dried, cured we ended up with. The smoke is amazing!!! It's really potent with an uplifting heady buzz and a nice sweet after taste.

The other 2 pics are of the next round. Unfortunately, they haven't been doing great since I re-potted them. They've been under T5's and CFL's for 2 months and under the MH for the last 2 weeks. They're just starting to improve as of the last 2 days. I'll keep the under the MH for another 2 weeks and then put them into 12/12 under the HPS. I hope they didn't suffer too much!!!

Honestly, you are making this way too complicated.

You only need one light and two light schedules. Millions if not billions of tons of weed has been grown using a simple 2 step formula.

1. HPS @ 24/0 for veg for 30 or more days.
2. HPS @ 12/12 to flower and grow them until frosty.

The more grows you do, you'll come to understand that making this more complicated than it needs to be may only return negligible better results if any, and in some cases you'll grow less.

Anytime, any plant stalls for any reason, it will effect eventual output and so it makes sense to find what works every time and repeat the process.

The key for me was to maximize output while minimizing effort. I do so little, it's laughable and still grow a tent full every time. Mine auto feed and auto water. I move lights and chop. That's it.

I also grow in one medium. I use one Nute at one strength to further eliminate the potential of problems.

I'm finding the longer my weed cures, the more potent it becomes. In fact, the shake I find at the bottom of the bag is too potent to smoke. I grow Female Seeds C99.

BTW, I was told that there is no difference in the potency from a bud taken from a large cola and a smaller one or from the top or the bottom of the plant. It was my understanding that all the flowers on the plant are the same strength regardless of size or location.

Good info DoDad.... I realize I'm making things more complicated than need be but I'm trying to grow perpetual so I can harvest every 2 months rather than every 4. I'm doing this with only 1 HID light so the plants in veg are under T5 and CFL's.

Also, It is my understanding (from research, not personal experience) that vegging under MH and then going to HPS for budding is much better than going HPS all the way through. Do you disagree?

I have also heard MH does better for veg but have not tried it.

If you want to speed up your harvest, try strains that finish earlier.

What I grow is known to ripen 2 months after flip. I veg for at least 1 month then flip and can chop every 3 months. If you have plants in the cue with more than a 30 day veg, you could chop every 60 days. The other key to quicker harvests is having mature plants already in veg ready to flip at chop.

I don't think you can't speed up the time it takes for a strain to mature. If we could, I'm guessing more people would be growing Landraces.

Having fun with my 2nd run

Having fun with my 2nd run

Hello Cannabuds,
I'm going to start a new thread on my 2nd run but I wanted to post some pics here to keep you all updated. I'll also add a link to my new thread here after I start it. Round 2 is coming along well. We went with 3 plants instead of 4 this time. Although, I'm hoping and expecting to yield about the same amount, if not more. You may be wondering how/why I expect to get more out of less. Bigger pots... Yup, that's it. I used 5 gallon buckets on the first run. This time around, I have 1 in a 7.5 gallon pot and the other 2 are in 10 gallon pots. The 2 that are in 10 gallon pots are much larger than the one in the 7.5 gallon and all 3 seem to be a significantly larger than the 4 from my 1st run. The brown pot is the 7.5 gallon.

These are 3 different strains from Nirvana: Super Skunk, Wonder Woman and Ice. Unfortunately, I had someone helping me transfer them and they mixed up the identifying labels out so unfortunately, I am not 100% certain which is which. I have a pretty good idea which is which but I don't know how I could possibly differentiate them with 100% certainty. Lesson learned!!! I'll be sticking labels to the outside of the pot going forward. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the pics. Let me know what you all think?

Cheers,
SuperSativa

Great thread man! And congrats on the second grow! Everything is looking bomb. I am about a week out from starting my first run. Pretty pumped! Anywho, just wanted to say hello and that you're kicking ass. Keep up the good growing.

Oh, and keep and eye out for me in the Grow Diaries!
