Fully Automated RDWC System - Ultimate System Overhaul!!!

Nice Zumie!

I'd suggest you cover the tops of that rockwool unless you want to see green algae on it soon. Also, when you drop em in the cch20 don't forget to cut the plastic off.

I just dropped 16 girls in my new veg system, need to drop another 16 in it, veg for a few weeks and I'll get my 32xl rollin'. It's been an exercise in patience, that's for DAMN sure.

Oh man, cant wait to watch this one! Found your thread when doing some research on my DIY of the current culture system... dude I totally feel your pain and frustrations, I have been working on the setup for about 2 months and STILL not 100% there... I am about to start the same tests you ran before the clones go in and now you have me paranoid as fuck about issues that might pop up:(

Stoked on your heads up regarding the Neptune Apex system - that is my phase "2" once I learn the ins and outs of this RDWC.. totally new to it as all I know thus far is coco.

Also a fellow 303, hopefully I can get my shit together and be a week or two behind ya. Thanks for the post and best of luck man!

thanks for the heads up Diesel....but Im already two steps ahead of ya . . . I had not put the covers on when I snapped the photo but they are chillin right now green funk free. thats dope you are running the 32XL . . .thats a beast of a setup....what kind of cooling power are you employing? I suggest you always overshoot the estimate when it comes to calculating the total heat load you are gonna have to manage. This hot colorado sun also is winding down by the day so the moore time it takes for them to veg the closer we are getting to the slightly less schortching days of September and October. . .

Which also brings up another great time of year.....the time for OUTDOOR HARVEST!! check out the side project that Im messing with outside of the new "beat-lab"

HAHAHA!!! nothin like some of the threads you see in NorCal . . . Bigups to Mendo420 who kills it over there....suggest yall check it out. but this aint too bad for a few cuts thrown in the backyard in ol D-Town!!! hahaha

While I am at it . . . I know its been a while, but the babies are still in veg mode, doing mighty nice I might add. Pretty soon I am going to have them transferred into the main flowering room, and my trellis system installed over them in order to create a large SCROG setup which will maximize canopy space and limit height concerns.

from there I will have to veg for probably another 3-4 weeks in order for the plants to fill out the SCROG nicely and to reach optimum size . . .remember there are only 18 sites, and each module is a 13 gallon bucket which means a WHOPPER of a rootball can fit nicely in there, supporting a massive plant.....the goal is between 1/2 - 3/4 lbs per plant. Coming along!!!

If anybody is still tuned into this painstakingly slow thread....you will be glad to hear that I am finally ready to transfer all 18 girls into the flowering room. I am going to begin the transfer tonight, but keep in mind that while they are being moved to the "flowering" room, I'm going to run them at 18/6 on/off in order to give them a while longer to get nice and bushy with a canopy that fills out the trellis system well.

Hard to say exactly how much longer that may take....but I knew when I started that the 13 gallon modules were made for raising some big ass plants, and I wholly expected this, the nice thing is I am going to get a jump on the next round shortly after I flip these so I can keep things moving along smoothly once this initial batch is well on it's way.

Pics to follow after the transplant :)

I know it's been a while, but no much to report as I've just been letting the girls veg their asses off and fill out the room with a thick canopy and massive rootballs in the buckets. I will say that with the cooler temps here, the system is purring like a kitten maintaining a damn near perfectly specified environment. Plus I can keep tabs on it all damn day even while I've been traveling for my real job for most of the last two weeks!

kudos to Neptune Systems who may not be ready to acknowledge the revolutionary product design and it's potential impact on the hydro community (since it's a fish tank controller company) but the ease of use, and potential uses in higher technology based hydro systems is out of this f*ckin world! I love how connected I am, it's like I never leave my room! I even recently hooked up a real time video feed taken from inside the room itself that can be accessed from my phone. Straight nasty!

Seeing the curl on some top leaves, pH alright?
Lots of vegging going on you gotta fill the buckets and canopy space, once you do, look out.

PH has been a steady 5.9, however. I believe that when this photo was taken it was right after the lights came on....about two weeks ago, at that point I hadn't finished sorting out my final amperage allocation (I'm dangerously close to tripping breakers on a 100 amp system with all the gadgets and lights chillers and AC....I was running a dehumidifier which at night (dark) could not even come close to handling all the moisture the girls would let off....I bagged the dehuey allowing the AC units to dry the air during light hours, and hooked up my 12" max can fan on the carbon filter to the sentinel controller which triggers a suction job when humidity reaches too high a level....anyway the point being, sometimes when you creep in on sleeping ladies (especially when they are sitting in way too much humidity, the sometimes seem to be a little bit curled on the leaves...things do look much better now.

As far as the spreading out of the growth, only training I have done to date has been multiple rounds of topping the plants to generate many branching offshoots. I still plan on investing in the cages that go over the buckets but had a brief liquidity issue which has since been resolved. I'll be able to get them over the plants by holding up the branches or some careful tying, cuz I suspect when the loading begins....there is gonna be some serious need for additional weight support or broken limbs will be all over....learned that the hard way this summer. By not installing proper 4" square mesh wiring for a vertical trellis system on my outdoor girls. Once they got wet and rained on or it got windy, I lost a good 25% of my total harvest

I take that explanation back!!! Now I recall what the issue was....and your right it WAS the PH....my PH probe was strangely not acting properly, (or so I would soon learn) and so I went out and dosed the system with PH down as it read north of 6.7....I have not used AN brand PH adjustment solutions before and holy shit, they are concentrated enough to burn a hole in the floor it seems....a few ml added to 200 gals and I went back inside...inspected the reading and barely a 0.1 move down....went back and added more, same thing....go inside and it hardly moved. On the third time out I used a blue lab hand held pen to check the accuracy and I almost crapped my pants cuz it was down to fuckin 4.0! Luckily it only reached that point and was there for maybe 30 mins...but clear stress inflicted on the girls, they have since grown well past that issue. Won't happen Again that's Fosho!
