Coco education for experienced growers

I'm currently running a coco PPK, in a single site configuration. There are two 5 gallon reservoir totes in the system, but it usually is only holding about 6-8 gallons. There are three 5 gallon totes used in the entire system. One is used to hold the media.

This system is recirculating and I have had ZERO problems and done ZERO pH or EC checking, nor have I done any flushes or replaced the solution, except when it changed rooms 2 weeks before flower, after being in the system for ~2-3 weeks. I currently haven't changed the solution in ~2 months, only topped it off with fresh solution. I have occasionally added simply RO to the system once or twice to account for anticipated rise in EC.

I run Jack's Professional Hydro + CalNit added straight to RO, I OCCASIONALLY add some pH adjuster from JR Peters but rarely. It's adds alkalinity. I have been using Floralicious+ in the res from veg until now. I have occasionally added some Koolbloom to the reservoir. This is my first time ever running this system, or recirculating coco in general. I have always run DTW as does the rest of my grow.

This is a single plant under a 600 watt. Strain is Sweet Island Skunk. One of my absolute favorite smokes, this is my first time running her.

looks amazing!! im doing a single plant scrog also.. but dtw.. i let my nute solution sit over night and ph it to 5.8-6.0max currently only using maxigrow and drip clean @ 1.0 ec she is looking great but the bottom leaves just keep turning yellow and falling off.. going to give it till next weekend and see how she is doing since i dropped the silica .. i have always ran calmag+ in the past but everyone on here is saying not to...:tiphat:

Next round im thinking I might run 4g smart pots with a 50/50 coco/hydroton mix instead of 2g smart pots of straight coco. The way I see it- is that theres still the same amount of medium in the pots, so in theory there would be a similar watering schedule, but more room for the roots to grow.... anyone want to chime in here?

Add PK13/14 in increasing amounts from when the flowers start to form, then taper it off around week 5-6 and start to flush (for an 8-9 week strain). That will give a better result than just doing what Canna say and giving them a big dose of 1.5ml/ltr at week 5.

Resin scientist- Your plants could be infected with root aphids, I would look into the roots with 100x microscope

i just did a soil drench and foliar spray with azamax.. if that is the case hopefully that will solve that issue .. i havent noticed and bugs even when i examined the roots when i transplanted , but better safe than sorry

^ agreed. BT is the one I believe

I'm not sure what BT is referring to? Bacillus thuringiensis? It won't help here.

There are few options for RA. Pyrethrins will knock them down but won't eradicate, Imidacloprid works wonderfully but has an extremely long systemic action. Like 3-6 month half life. Other options include Acephate (Orthene) which has a 10-15 day systemic activity, as well as Met52(fungus). OG BioWar Foliar pack will help (contains Met52) but if you have an infestation you will need to take a combination approach more than likely.

Good luck applying that acephate.... the most disgusting smelling cabbage/dog fart smell you can ever imagine. At least the acephate 97up brand.

general hydroponics azamax .. i use it and neem oil ...im not even sure if i have any root aphids ... just doing it as a precaution.. havent seen any bugs flying and nothing in the coco or on the roots when i examined them when i transplanted :tiphat:

only 1.0 ec with maxigrow, drip clean@ 1ml/gal and RO water. posted a new thread trying to figure out which strain she is for sure, if anyone can help. going to trim up some under growth thats not getting light this weekend . she is in a 5 gal fabric pot and white roots are already poking out on the bottom sides.. she is gonna be a monster haha

Looks more sativa at top to me..(not wifi) but im just guessing as both are hybrids. I am going to suggest a bump up in ec now to 1.2 or 1.4. 1 4 ec =6/9..I get 1.5 ec with the 1ml drip clean. My vortex was being wierd but not telling why so I bumped up ec to give access to more p and everything str8nd out on top..the little thin leaves on new growth speaks lack of p to me but not by much.
Just a suggestion.

i was planning on upping to 1.2 soon .. should i go straight to 1.4 or 1.2 then 1.4? she is getting big .. i def think by the way the leaves look she is more sativa for sure which im happy about! its not wifi ...its wifi alien.. which is the reg version of wifi using the alien kush. white romulan is suppose to be 50/50 indica sativa..white fire alien now they are calling it fire alien white in some places is 40sativa/60indica.. so you may be right with it being white romulan.. she smells very strong thats for sure .. never had romulan.. hope she is a keeper.:tiphat::dance013:

The old school romulan is mostly sativa..you can find some that are short stalky with mostly indica traits though which I happen to love n prefer. Ive grown the alien tech..alien tech v2..alien og..alien abduction18 and 20 and 22 ..and I have an alien empress now. The alien line is a hash plant pheno (indica ..I believe afg..or pak i forget ) so the fun part here will b to see if its the white or the rom..thats in that mix :).
Actually now that I said it outloud...if it was the wifi alien ..it would have longer nodes and be stretchier due to the og in most cases.

it is very short and squat with medium to short internode spacing . ive never had the white or romulan or anything alien ... so anything will be a treat.. so you are pretty sure it is not wifi Alien?? you seem to have alot of experience with alien genetics so just wanted to make sure i got your offical opinion. i love the looks of the white .. frosty!!!! which i love my resin and crystals! hence the name ... i also like more sativa strains.. esp ones that grow like indicas. i loved my original amnesia! sativa , great tasting, and wasnt too lanky! wish i wouldnt have lost her

got me interested  so i went and took some measurements..the internode spacing is between 3/4 of an inch to 1&1/4 inches at the very top .. which in my past experience seems very short:tiphat:
