That is the worst managing I have seen in a Major League baseball game by the A's manager. To stand there and watch pitchers implode without removing them. To stand there and watch them run around the bases stealing base after base without throws even being made to hold them on. The tying run was on second. The runner had a huge lead. He was almost halfway to third on his lead, and the pitcher didn't even try to pick him off, or hold him on. No throw at all. It was mind boggling! And the A's bullpen sucks!!!!

Epic failure. This game represents their entire season.

we sure weren't robbed of excitement in the KC/Oakland game.
agreed Retro, management absolutely sucked.
Which pitchers were imploding? I watched the entire game imhpo both teams made some mistakes. The A's had a couple fielding errors that were costly. Royals had some pretty good/lucky hits towards the end too..
cant say im a fan of the ONE game wildcard, even if the As won, id feel like KC didnt really get a chance to be in the playoffs. The wildcard isnt a playoff, more of a do or die winner takes all pressure match lol,

b4 the game everyone questioned pullin Dunn for Moss...mmm..pretty glad they did that. also really glad management put Callaspo in, who hit in the run to take the lead in extra innings...

If the Pirate's manger didn't have his head up his a$$, the pitcher would have been out of the game in the 4th inning BEFORE the damage was done. But noooo, leave him in there to walk the bases loaded, and then don't take him out. Wait for the grand slam. Incredible.
As it turned out, Baumgardner pitched so well, it didn't really matter. Pirates were completely over matched.
I would like to think that after the G-dudes took the Pirates to the whoopin shed last nite, somewhere, the Dodgers are thinkin "uh oh..." (Cmere, puiggy puiggy...)

I would put up mad bum and peavy up against kershaw and grenky.
They have speed though and that scares me case in point the royals.

The forgotten team.... The Baltimore Orioles just beat the crap out of the incorrectly heavily favored Detroit Tigers. Many talking heads were predicting a 3 game Tiger sweep. They were very, very wrong.
Orioles 12 Tigers 3 and the O's hung a snowman on the Tigers in the bottom of the 8th.

And who's fault was that? Don Mattingly! Dodgers had a 4 run lead. Kershaw obviously had lost his command. This was evident to even the most casual observer. When he gave up the first run without getting an out, I thought, "time to take him out". Then he gives up another run, still no outs, score 6-4. At that point, there was no justification to leave him in the game. But, incredibly, Mattingly did. I know he's a great pitcher, but he had lost his stuff. Time to bring the next guy in, but no. Leave him in there until they score 3 more runs! Unbelievable!
