Another happy day in hell...

Getting cooler here. In the 50's before sunrise. Pistils on the ED and the GDP are turning reddish-purple. Trichomes are showing-up in-force, still no signs of insects.

Hell Rusty, pick one. Any one. Guanfuckinteed we got pounded somewhere along there. And sorry, no, it doesn't teach you to hide 15 foot monsters behind a six foot fence. When you master that..... I'd bet you put those plants in a nine foot deep hole.
Hmm...a basement grow sans basement... I like it. :tiphat:

As for my special flavoring,,,, best if you let the shit come out of the dog before removal.
Roxy will be glad to hear that.

In ground growing, yes I feed everything at full strength. With endless dirt no build-up will occur, and all that rain tends to move the goodies through the soil deep into the ground. And if you ammend a bunch of FF into really good soil (which granted you do not have) It really isn't necessary to fertilize that much in Veg.
Okey dokey. Back-off veg goodies, full strength till approaching finish.

Get a compost pile going. Make your own soil. No dog shit needed. After a few seasons growing in the same place, your own "sand" will be full of goodies and ready to rock. The nutrients will all be aged....and your little plot will be screaming for plants.
Guess the pile shouldn't go under my bedroom window. I'm a light sleeper, and it would piss me off with all that screaming.

And check your drainage too. Raised beds are the way to go.
After spending $75 for a neighbor to come dig the hole, my landlord will be happy to hear this... lol.

Or you could just hit a big jackpot and move here....do it right.
Guess it would depend on how much I won. Right now, I couldn't afford a postcard.

Anyway, with the hard time I gotta give you props. You are literally growing in Hell. Any take there is a victory.
It's really not that bad here. As long as you don't mind burning yourself on door knobs and car seats, or collecting sand in every corner of your life, or choosing clothes that won't chafe while they're stuck to your sweaty skin. But...it is a dry heat. Shouldn't be so hellish once the majority of California drops-off into the Pacific...

Thanks OH, I do appreciate you stopping-in and schoolin' a rookie.

..Grand Daddy Purple.............Cheetoez....................Black Afghani...............Eclectic Daisy...

All trichomes are in the milky neighborhood. A couple still clear, especially on the late-addition Cheetoez. Checking and double-checking...still no bugs. Frankly, I'm ok with that. Fed 'em their last (half) dose of nutrients, Cha Ching and BudSwell. from here on out, nothing but a dash of molasses once a week, and water as necessary.

I ended-up wedging a piece of 2x4 between the two main stalks on the Eclectic Daisy. Opened her up to better light penetration and airflow. Each lower growing tip is a bud the size of your fist, and likely much harder. Main cola's are about double that. Getting more and more difficult keeping the pruning shears away till finish.

Grand Daddy Purple is rock hard, and I'm guessing it's not going to fill in much more. But it's a long-flowering strain (8-14 weeks) and I want to see if she has a late push. I'm usually on an indoor perpetual garden cycle, and need the space at 8 weeks regardless. Will be nice to see this one taken further.

Cheetoez is likely about half way through her flower cycle. I'm still not too sure if she'll finish before the weather turns...but I have a shovel and a large enough pot, to experiment with an emergency transplant. Worst case...femmed Cheetoez pollen. (bummer, huh?)

A sister plant to my Black Afghani is in a friend's garden, but his is already turning dark on the underside of the leaves. This one here is a tad smaller than his, but mine has longer/tighter buds. These colas are around 2 feet long, and about as large-around as a cup saucer at their base. Shorter buds are around a foot long. All show a solid taper all the way to the tips. No gaps. Quite a nice growth pattern and garden-appeal.
Did I mention my pruner dilemma...?

Getting close to the finish line. All in all I'm pretty happy with how they're doing. Could be worse. MUCH worse, lol. Speaking of which...supposed to be a chance of rain again this week. Last storm we got the alerts for missed us entirely, thank goodness. (wind and hail) Daytime we're still at 100 degrees, in the 60's at night. Almost perfect. (a tad cool for my liking)

As harvest time approaches, my buddy is hearing more noises at night so sleeps in his porch hammock. I think he needs some NRA signs and a bigger dog. Hiding it from the neighbors could help, too, lol. Speaking of which...I hope y'all have a safe and sane harvest. :tiphat:

Hi RT Looking good. Can you put some pics in a album they get bigger Mahalo.
Nothing new here just a lava flow going through the middle of Pahoa town. Might be some cheap rent.lol

Hey DB, what's up with the lava? Takin' a shortcut across your field?

I upload my photo's into my album(s), then upload them into the post from there. They should open a new window for you when you click. Then you can click that one again for a bit larger... Dunno.

Yeah, ECIII, I need to update at the other place. Headed out for an 8-ball tourney tonight. Likely in the morning.

Quick update. Keyboard is screwed-up, so I have to type-copy-paste.

. . . .

Left to right...Nye-99...Grand Daddy Purple...Eclectic Daisy...Black Afghani...Cheetoez.

Just a few shots of the girls' tip's as they finish-up. Perhaps a couple weeks left by the looks of the weather. Technically I could harvest any time, (except the Cheetoez) since the trichs are all milky. The ED and GDP still have some purpling-up to do, and the Black Afghani still needs to darken-up. Patience...definitely not my strong suit.

@Rusty, does plants are looking nice.
Finall stretch, how do you know when to harvest?
Do the leaves ever start to yellow?
I am so lost when it comes to outdoor grows( any grow ).
Again, great looking girls , looking forward to more.

THat 3rd plant is weird lookin we had one like that this year had a bunch of 1-3 leafs, looking good though
You'd be a tad prissy in this heat, too. As long as she keeps bulking up (which she is) and she continues to pump-out the trich's, (which she does) and retains her scent (yup) I'm happy. As previously stated...this is definitely a learning experience.

Underwatering/overwatering, overfeeding, underfeeding, heat/humidity issues...there are many reasons the girls shed leaves. I do like the idea of a self-pruning plant though. Would make trimming soooo much easier, lol.

Depends on the strain(s) you're growing as to when to take 'em. Usually, indica dominates will finish quicker than sativa dominates. Best to check online for strain details if you can't wait till just before the first frost, lol. I'm going to wait as long as possible, but the Black Afghani and that "weird" plant are technically ready whenever I am. All trich's are milky now. I had to tie-up the Black Afghani. Buds are too heavy for the branches. Worried about WPM with the ED (the weird one) and the GDP, since the buds are so tight and there are storm clouds approaching. Mold would suck right now.

Well...we went through a bit of a cold snap. Temps down into the 80's during the day, low 60's at night. Supposed to be warming-up over the next week though. So needless to say the harvest will be delayed for a week or so, minimum. Restricting nutrients. Fox Farms Cha-Ching as a stand-alone, and molasses. Fans are yellowing, trich's everywhere. Stinky.

I did harvest (cull) the sucked-up GDP (rock-hard buds, stinky) and the z-99 (airy buds, fruity smell). The z-99 growing tips were fading (dying) on one of the main branches, so I took it before the necrosis could spread. Some of each will be smoked, most of both were trimmed-up and set gently into the RSO pile. (tossed in a bucket to cure)

I also took the Cheetoez for smoke. She was mature, and the cooler temps stressed her out. Was quite limp on a couple of mornings. Since I was out of smoke anyway...

The 3 remaining plants are the the Black Afghani, the Eclectic Daisy and the GDP, . Buds are tight enough on 'em that I check for WPM daily. Bug poo abounds, but no insect damage. The only insects I've actually seen (yes, I've looked) are garden spiders and preying mantises'.

Wind blown, and a little bit of sandblasting...but trichomes are 'clean'. No dusty-colored trich's. Still all milky. I think I might have seen some rusty trichomes, but it's bright out there and the glare blinds me pretty good. Doesn't matter...harvest will wait...

Looking good RT still amazed anything can grow out there. I made it one summer then back to Hi too dam hot. Get you camera going for a close up. Aloha DB

I'll see what I can do about the close-ups. Eyes are bad and the glare is so bright, I can't see the screen as I'm taking the shot. This makes it a crap shoot whether the shot is in focus or even in-frame.

I don't mind the heat. But when it get's below 80, I throw on a sweatshirt and stay indoors, lol.

Not the best quality, but these are gonna have to do...

.......... ........ ..........

....Grand Daddy Purple..............Eclectic Daisy..................Black Afghani

GDP and Eclectic Daisy are still chugging along. Changing colors and not looking too stressed. Temperatures are turning though, and their time is likely measured in days instead of weeks.

The Black Afghani was doing nothing, so she became the first girl to the scissor table. Large solid buds...average size stems that don't constitute half the budspace. Perhaps a half ounce of wimpy underbuds, very little trim from the initial offerings. Smells dusky/dank. Not fruity-sweet, not diesel, not skunk. But I guess there's a lot of things it DOESN'T smell like...

Harvest done?

Just planted a bunch of commercial hemp here.
High CBD, no THC.
Plan to grind and cap it to take along with the high THC oil.
Got 2 oz of seeds so planted a couple dozen,
100 % germination, in 2 days.
I can afford to relax a little now.:dance013:

Our friend on the wet side donated enough oil to give me a rest.
So, now I have enough for a full six month run of ingestible meds and choke hash for inhalation titration.
Life is good. :)

Need any seed?

Aloha,
Weed zard
