Rotten Panda info

Hello everyone!
I've noticed that the English description of Rotten Panda on the Ace site and seedbay differs from the one that's here on ICmag. I suppose 9-10 weeks flowering is correct with OE mixed in?

Already ordered those anyway since I'm VERY interested in those old UK Cheese genetics. Anyone growing some yet?

Ok, already got seeds of Panda (with some Zamal Hash and 3 Bangi Haze Std freebies). They all look extremely healthy and got here faster than I've expected. I've planted 2 yesterday, so give me three months and I'll let you know about that flowering time :)

Hi WGardener,

Rotten Panda flowering time is indeed around 9-10 weeks. Thanks for the correction, i changed the incorrect flowering time at our website, thank you very much for support our work. Best wishes! :)

Rotten Panda

Rotten Panda

Rotten Panda pics for reference.

Grown organically in a 25 liter pot in mediterranean coastal climate. Started late May and harvested first week of October.

I'm thin but the main cola was bigger than my leg :D Super stinky old school skunk aroma with increased yield and mold resistance.

WOW! I can't wait for my girl!!! And the structure is godly, perfect for my grow style. :dance013: Thanks for the pictures!

2,5 weeks in and Rotten Panda is my favourite looking seedling. When I rub a leaf a little it smells like no other cannabis plant I've smelled before.

I had to start the seeds in coco because I had no good soil available. Pretty interesting how much nutes can Panda withstand even though she's so small!

So, here are pictures of my 2 pandas. I grow under 400w and this was just a strain test in 1,5l cut bottle hempys (I usually get around 10g/untested plant. Some strains get over 20g) Structure of RP is suitable for my type of indoor, they took almost any amount of nutrients I gave them. Currently they're around day 52 and I've started to flush them yesterday. I expect something around 15g +/- from each of these just for imagination

This girl has sweet cheesy smell, very strong and probably closer to Cheese side of Panda. It has much bigger individual flowers than the other pheno, but there is less of them in comparsion

Slightly more complex but less unique smell. It is a bit peppery, maybe kind of like smoked cheese. The buds consist of many smaller individual flowers so they were rock hard since the day they appeared.

Looking forward for the smoke because both girls look and smell exquisite. At first I was decided to keep the first cheesy pheno, but bud structure of the second girl may sway me. I'll post some bud shots after harvest.

Thanks for share your Rotten Pandas, WGardener.

Looks like they have produce a good yield in small pots, nice flowers! I'm glad you are happy with their aromas and overall performance. How are your smoking tests ?

Here are a few pics of our latest Rotten Panda selection.
Hard to find a non desirable plant in this cross.

First the more skunk/cheese influenced phenos.

And finally, the very dominant OE/Chinese Yunnan expressions.

Would you consider the smell to be like a rotten putrid skunk because that's what I'm looking for. I can remember when I bought a bag 12 years ago that had the most roadkill skunk smell and I haven't been able to find anything like that since. It seems like skunk smelling bud is gone and everything is fruity now. Anyone have a lead on what I'm looking for?

Thanks nukklehead :) i'm glad you enjoyed them.

Tr0picThund3r, there are some very rotten smelling phenos in Rotten Panda, the ones that mix the rotten cheese/skunk aromas with the organic fermented Orient Express aromas that come from Vietnam Black side. I think this are the ones that will fit more what you are looking for.

Other phenos are sweeter, mixing the sweet skunk with the sweet and sour creamy chinese aromas. Hope it helps!

hey dubi this is my dream plant from the description i have read on ace seeds..i have no ideal how it took me this long but i have found it and bought it a 1 pack!!..i love the smell of skunk and taste..in the early 90s they use to be nothing but straight skunk here and i hope this rotten panda is it..nothing better then taking a bit hit of the old school skunk and exhale out ur nose mmmm..ok enuff of that..im at 37.5 lat and its humid as hell here..no other skunk brands that i have tried like super skunk, red hair skunk etc has never been able to withstand the humidity i have here..it stays nearly 100% from june through sept..im in the southeast usa..will this strand in ur opinion be able to produce here or will rotten panda ROT on me as well? i need outstanding mold protection not just little

I am also curious about the pandas mould resistance

im sure Dubi will be around soon or some other person that has grown it out will let us know..skunk is personality my fav plant ever..i love the buzz and taste from the true skunks..either way its already on the way to me so this one will be done in the organic living soil along with blueberry headband and delahaze

Some infor on the outdoor resistance would be useful as I'm planning to run this outdoors this summer in a damp, mouldy corner of Northern Spain. The Ace site says it has average PM resistance and Average/High Botrytis resistance, 'with improved vigour, yield, mold and outdoor resistance thanks to the vietnamese sativa influence from our Orient Express'

My cheese (free bean from Dinafem) moulded a bit outdoors last year but finished nice and early and tbh, for that taste I can handle losing a bit to mould, but I imagine/hope the Rotten Panda will be a bit more resistant. I notice Ace say 'The support of the main branches is recommended at the end of flowering, due to the big size and heavy weight of its flowers.' Big and heavy is good but hopefully the 60% sativa will mean they won't be so dense and hence won't mold so much.
