I would store the main batch in the fridge or freezer in an opaque container, and keep a few days supply out in a dropper bottle at room temperature. It is too thick to drop when cold.

Sounds good, thanks guys!

I dont think it would go rancid with coconut oil though? Just degrade the THC to CBN more so than what we do purposefully? If left out to long it might get more sedative?

Going to search for child proof dropper bottle lids...

maybe not, i just instinctively put the main batch in the freezer, taking a few days or a weeks worth out in a small jar. but it might well not be a problem keeping it unfrozen.

i'm gonna make some of this according to the instructions in my bible. which says "sweet calamus" btw not fragrant cane like the OP. has anyone tried making it like the bible or is everyone just using BHO ?

i've been looking for the ingredients but so far all i see is cinnamon and 2 things which are cinnamon substitutes, i was gonna add weed anyway cause calamus and canabis sound similar but i'd also like to find these plants too.

For historical justice, I must say that I've just improved the graphics and added a Fahrenheit temperature in the charts,
G.O.Joe found in Journal of Chromatography, 520 (1990) 339-347.

in my experience (click) I watched an active release of gas bubbles from the melt of amber
at a temperature 122С from the fifth minute, on the tenth minute it stopped,
while as scheduled, it is necessary 27 minutes, probably the temp in my oven was higher.

I was surprised when I just ran across this old comment by Jump117 giving credit to G.O. Joe for the decarb chart.

Nice piece of history... :tiphat:

Much controversy on what the Bible says, but one works wonderfully and the other doesn't and gives rats duodenal ulcers. Makes you wonder what the priests (scientists of the day) were thinking?

I believe its worded like this on purpose so as not to give out the recipe to all mankind. I believe in those days this recipe gave healing powers to those in charge and of course humans crave power over there fellow human beings.

I have a decarb question, I just bought a Magical Butter machine for a friend, does the cannabis need to be decarbed first or not? Here's the basic recipe with butter from their website:

Ingredients:

14-20 grams of botanicals per cup*
2-5 cups/475 mL-1.18 L of unsalted butter
(Do not use margarine, it will not work)
1 tablespoon/15 mL of sunflower lecithin**
DO NOT ADD WATER!!!
How to:

Place the ingredients into your MB machine.*
Select the “Temperature” button and set at 160ºF/71ºC.
Press the “2 Hours/Butter” button.
After the cycle is complete, unplug at wall socket, remove head of appliance, put on your LoveGlove™
and pour slowly through the PurifyFilter™ into a storage container.

* FOR BEST RESULTS DO NOT PRE GRIND BOTANICALS.
Adjust botanical weights according to personal preference.

** Sunflower, rice or soy lecithin is optional, but recommended.
Lecithin is an emulsifier, which is used in the pharmaceutical
industry for binding elements and increasing potency.
Lecithin comes in the form of granules, powder and liquid and any form you use will be sufficient. You can purchase it at your local health food or vitamin store. You may come across lecithin in capsules, but we do not recommend them because they contain too many binders and fillers."

So, is a couple of hours at 160F enough for a full decarb?

Maybe if left for a couple of days or week, but not 2 hours.

Thanks Pangea, that's the first thing I did was check THE CHART. I just couldn't believe they're not emphasizing proper decarb upfront.

Edit: Found it in the Instructions,

"Decarb Your Botanicals
1. Preheat oven to 250°F/121oC.
2. Place your botanicals into a covered baking dish.
3. Put the dish into the middle of the preheated oven for
25 to 30 minutes.
4. When the time is up, take it out of the oven and let cool
completely. You can put the dish into the freezer to speed
up the process.
5. Once your botanicals are cooled you are ready to begin.
Place the ingredients into your MagicalButter machine and follow the appropriate recipe."

I see it has a high heat setting of 220F that could be used with care to decarb, but I'll suggest my friend use the tried and true oven decarb.

Personally I think BHO heated at 250F until the bubbles slow or cease is the way to go for oral consumption, and is the standard I'll be pushing for...

Has the recipe remained the same or have you changed it over time? What is the current recipe you are using. Thank you!

Eloquentsolution created the Holy Anointing Oil formula in about 2008, to which I added the flavoring oil to make Holy Shit Oil. She toned down the myrrh from the original, but no other changes since about 2008.

It was based on the one in Exodus, but uses essential oils instead of boiling everything together and filtering. It also ups the potency levels.

HOLY SHIT! Holy Anointing Oil from Exodus.

So I ordered the cinnamon bark oil, cinnamon leaf oil, and myrhh gum instead of boiling the natural products, as well as took the lead of another engineer conducting similar experiments and used short chain coconut oil instead of olive oil.

My own was as follows:

10 grams BHO Cannabis oil
3 grams Coconut oil
.7 grams Cinnamon Bark oil
.7 grams Cinnamon Leaf oil .
.7 grams Myrrh Gum

I apologize if this question has already been answered here.

I see you chose coconut oil over olive oil. When I take RSO straight, just adding coconut oil into my diet replacing butter, like on my toast, within 20 minutes it would intensify my RSO buzz every time. I am not sure if it increased the duration, but for sure the intensity.

I know this is largely known in the community that coconut oil has an effect with cannabis concentrates. Can you help me to understand why? I have yet to find anyone able to explain it to me.

I would really like to hear your opinion on this Gray Wolf, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I prefer coconut oil because of its medium chain triglycerides, which absorb faster than olive oil, so the same dose is delivered faster.

As much of an improvement coconut oil is over butter/olive oil, liquid coconut oil is that much better than regular coconut oil. Much higher mct content and seems more suited for sublingual applications.

That's good to know. I wondered what the difference was and if liquid was any better or not as good as extra virgin coconut oil. I have always used organic extra virgin coconut oil, but will pick up some liquid for my next batch.

Thanks, MrManDead.
