I use 3% H2O2 and pour a small amount in a cup. Put the seeds in the cup and swish around for 20 seconds or so. I got this info from orchid seed sprouters. Orchid seeds are really tough to sprout. It kills bacteria and fungus. I then put them in water with about 1/4 teaspoon H2O2 per large cup of water. I really believe in the H2O2( can't you tell). I've had seeds not sprout all the way but they didn't rot.
I use the plastic fitting that goes from the shut off valve to a toilet to push them out. Don't laugh at me! I needed something and had one laying around. It works.
I think using pure vermiculite for seed sprouting is probably to wet. It's all I've tried though. It does work.
I got my aquarium heater from a pet supply for like 6 bucks. Even cheaper than Walmart.
The original poster of this tech deserves Great Atta Boys! He posted as a guest though. So whoever you are thanks.

We all know this method works. I just pulled my first clones using this method, two pictured were lower scrub branches taken 4 weeks into flower and were in the cloner for a week. I took them out early because I was doing some potting and wanted to take care of it tonight - for a little while now I've just been putting them in tap water till they get some bumps them putting them into pro mix cups - simple. This method definitly speeds things up - the second bunch were cuts from a plant in veg that were put in water about the same time. i don't need them I was just pruning and feel like it can't hurt to let them sit in some water right?

Btw, seeds were dunked yesterday - about 60% cracked in the water so I went ahead and put them all in the cloner using vicious bee's formula plus a little air stone in the water. I'm stoked about not having to go check on the seeds for a while!

Thanks to all here for sharing your great ideas!

Oops! Missed that. Great Appreciation for you. Thanks.
Anyone know how to give reputation points? This should be a sticky thread.

Hey, thanks - I would've liked to leave them in there a little longer but really needed to rearrange and get the seeds in - plus I'm in no hurry for those clones.

To give reps you just click on the little scale.

Take care all.

I've actually used this EXACT method for over two years now with great results. Make sure you take cuts w/ good size fan leaves as they will loose alot of green over the first week or so. Like i said this is the way i've been cloning for a while now and I'd say at least 90% of my cuts root.

have a couple questions, tried making something similar, as i couldn't find anything similar locally especially now thats its winter (who need icetubes, or popsicles in winter ;), or even propagation trays now ) but more or less made tub version where one smaller tub sits in a bigger tub with a bit of water in it.

but i ran into the stems turning to mush in 100% vermiculite due to it being too wet (one the water level was probably to close to the bottom of the stems) but how loose or packed should the vermiculite be, i know some mention it being packed decently.

but also trying a 70/30 perlite, verm mix, seems to be working better but have just been watering the tubs every 3-4 days, not allowing any water to be wicked into the medium.

would love to just use pure vermiculite as its alot easier to remove roots from and put clones into then, so just looking for some small pointers i might be missing.

till then just trying my older method that has worked best (just sticking clones into 3oz cups filled with wet LC mix)

just would love to speed up the rooting a bit more if possible
