I think that sums up pretty much everything I'm using.

As a seedling, this tangilope was a mutant. I named it teenage mutant ninja tangilope..or TMNT -

I didn't know if the plant was going to be viable, but I gave it a chance. After a couple weeks it seemed to be growing normal, but then my potting soil had something funky going on in it and I got what appeared to be a iron deficiency or something. I repotted the plant into a new mix of a special blend of compost and perlite and she began to take off and grew nicely. I have taken clones and am just waiting for them to root. Then I will be vegging them in a dwc tote I have yet to make. But the equipment is on it's way. Here are some pictures of the life of the tmnt and trials and tribulations it has over come. downloadfile-2.jpg

Here's the clones as of today. They've been to hell and back also. There was a minor clear slime of a couple of them after they rooted, so instead of taking new cuttings I sterilized the cloner and clones and recut the stems because I would hate to lose them. I think they'll be okay. I took the cuts 14 days ago, sterilized and h2o2 soaked them yesterday. They are tough cookies.

Update: it's so damn hot out this year I'm having trouble keeping the bubble cloner water cool. 3 out of 12 clones got a brown stem so I threw them out. The other 9 (thank the Lord there's 9 because I need 9) look fine and no browning and stems are firm. One has started to root and a couple others have root bumps. Not sure why I didn't think of this earlier, but I put the cloner in a bigger tote of water and ice. This should help keep the Temps down. Can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks and the clones are still green. Let's hope all 9 root fine and no more get brown stems. Fingers crossed. Wish I did this ice water tote 3 weeks ago, I'd probably be close to flowering now. Smh tmp_18111-Screenshot_2014-09-06-14-20-16-1293120270.jpg

tmp_23045-Screenshot_2014-09-11-17-26-26-1336571190.jpg Well it's been a little over 3 weeks in the bubble cloner since taking the cuttings. All have serious root bumps everywhere and 3 have little roots, but they just aren't rooting for some reason. So I figured I should do something so I put the cuts into cups of perlite. I've never done this before so I don't know what to expect, but it can't be any worse than the cuts doing nothing in the cloner. I'm hoping they root faster being in a different medium. It's worth a shot.

If any one has any ideas about how cuttings can be so green and healthy for 3 weeks and not have big roots, I'm all ears. I figured after 3 weeks and no roots they would have yellowed and started wilting *shrug* I'm really out of ideas if this perlite doesn't work

Sadly I will have to put this tangilope grow on hold for a while. I can't seem to get these clones to take root and I'm wasting a lot of time with them. I'll be doing a purple paralysis grow with the same system and setup as I was going to do with the tangilope. I am going to try different methods of cloning this strain in my spare time to see which works best.

Hey alpha

Sorry to hear about your problem rooting the tangielope
I'm sure you will get one in a few weeks time after the mother has had some extra vegging time

I hope your keeping well ?

Thanks

tmp_15037-20141021_120637-1785978438.jpg Hey GA, I think I may be able to revive this thread :) I have 5 rooted tangilope. I used root riot plugs and it took a while but they are finally rooted. I probably won't be doing them in the ebb system, but possibly dwc or promix. I will see where the next couple of weeks takes me and hope to flower some within the next few weeks

Will do GA, i think i will pick up some more buckets and put together some more dwc setups, i'm thinking a small sog because i will have 6 purple paralysis, 2 sour power bikers, 2 24k white gold and 3 or 4 tangilope going all in the same tent. Should be a fun grow this round :)

Thanks for joining in hemperor and djxx :) This was a freebie promo seed the 'tude was giving away a few months ago, i love tangie but i've never had chocolope, but it does sound like a pretty sweet cross. I had a light fall on the mother plant while i was moving, it broke the main stem clean off at the base so i'm really thankful that i was able to get some clones rooted so she can continue her life (and so I can smoke some of it lol)

tmp_13494-20141024_2103401813111997.jpg I think these are going to do extremely well in hydro. They had virtually no transplant shock and have greened up nicely. Roots are poking through the net pots with only 2 days time.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. The roots have started steady growth and the plant has begun growth. I started them at about 450ppm but dropped it to 350ppm and changed the dwc buckets because the white ones allowed too much light through. The set up will be as in the picture, the back 6 smaller buckets will be purple paralysis in ebb n grow buckets, then there will also be 2 tangilope dwc, 2 sour power biker dwc, and 2 24k in Dwc. They are 3 gallon dwc buckets. Can't wait to flower these babies. I think I'll veg for 3.5 weeks. It will probably be a little crowded with 12 plants in a 5x5 tent, but I will probably use cages of some sort to shape them. tmp_3832-20141027_1209081580091380.jpg
