Can we talk Potassium Silicate rates guys? I was doing some math today and realized the suggested amount of .7g/gal for AgSil is a ridiculously small amount of silicon and potassium, around four one-thousanths of a percentage of each. That seems like an insubstantial amount. Then I read a comparison with ProTekt, which is apparently 3.8% Si, and that's somewhere over a pound of AgSil in a gallon - but that sounds like a more likely percentage that would treat PM.

I have been thinking recently about sectarianism a lot, there are so many examples these days, from the fights between the different flavors of Islam or Christianity, or between the different subcultures in a nation, sports team rivalries etc. It seems there is no greater hatred known than that felt for people in your own group, who happen to be a little different.

I have a couple of things to bring to the AEA vs building soil naturally. I am doing a side by side with only 4 plants total, 2 each of the same variety as controls. I run all my plants on a program more similar to what boobs describes, but I decided to try AEA on two plants. 1 og twist and 1 cherry pie. I have a control for both strains.....long story short, the plants that didn't receive the AEA are 10% larger. All 4 plants are super healthy, but at this stage,

for the win. I might be doing something wrong with how I apply AEA, just my personal results.
Another thing, those plants that Boobs posted look WAY bigger than 6-8ft, 100% for sure.
Here is what I put into my soil this year: (exactly)
6.7 Yards of Peat
4 yards Bu Blend Bio Dynamic Dairy Cow Manure
2 yards Buckaroo EWC
6 yards red lava rock 5/16
2 yards sandy Loam
80lbs Neam Seed meal
100lbs Kelp Meal
120lbs crab meal
120lbs Gypsum
100lbs oyster shell lime
400lbs Glacial rock dust
170lbs cascade minerals
200lbs Azomite powder
100lbs fish bone meal 3-16-0
Here are my soil results from Logan Lab
Not bad at all on paper for a first year soil. It has it's problems but with feeding only tea's (execpt 2 plants) this soil has produced some super healthy, rapid growing, cannabis plants.

One question: approximately how many cubic feet of soil did you end up with using that mix?

I made coots mix this year, its working great. I also top dress with the same blend.
Fish bone meal 3-16-0
Crab meal 4-3-0
Neem meal (i think was, can't remmber) 3-3-4
EWC and compost should both have some......

I would say the amendments added about a full yard. I had 20.7 yards or 558.9 cubic feet of "base soil" in my mix. (Peat, Compost, topsoil, lava rock) So that makes 21.7 cubic yards or 585.9 cubic feet.

I've played with a lot of different soil recipes over the years, 1rst year new soil mixes, as well as yearly additives. Here's a very simple mix that is well proven and I am comfortable recommending for those large outdoor containers. It gives about 50 cubic feet or just over 300 gallons (dry U.S), and fills a 6ft diameter container to a depth of about 18inches - perfectly.
25 bags black gold potting soil (1.5cf ea)
4 bags stutzman farms chicken manure (1 cf ea)
1 bag perlite (4 cf ea)
1 bag (50 lbs) bonemeal (steamed, not precipitated)
1/2 bag gypsum (aprox 1/2 cf) - Edit -> 1/2 of a 40 lb bag (20lbs).
Mix well, water thoroughly, let rest for 2-3 weeks minimum, transplant, and stand back

I did the math so I thought I would share it. I am sure you can get bulk deals on Tom's mix, which would make it cheaper than what I posted.

Everyone made their points there. I think we could all get more out of this thread without the attacking tones. It tends to bring out thr worst in us. So, Now that we got some of that out of the way, can someone try to help me with this soil analysis?
I realize ive made some mistakes from the very beginning that the plants are ultimately paying for now. But I cant change that. What should I do to get these plants through the rest of the season?
Bringing soil pH down is a real struggle. Any suggestions? Should I be applying something for the micro nutrients that are probably being locked out? Foliars are probably not advisable this late into the game, right? I think all that P and K has a lot to do with why the plants seemed to rush into bloom.
With all that P and K, my bloom feed supplements are probably doing more harm than good, right?
Should I be doing light feeds of N to make up for the very low amounts? I know thats a no no into bloom, but the low amounts are surely to blame for all the big fan leaves yellowing and dropping.
Is all that Mg throwing off my Ca?
I'm in a shitty place here. To top it off I'm outiside early every morning spot treating PM to try to keep it under control, but it is inevitably spreading. I need to do what I can to get through this season. Definitely bit off more than I can chew and feel like ive been spinning my wheels from the very beginning. Its tough knowing how many hours ive put into this garden on a daily basis and how little it has paid off.
Any suggestions or tough criticisms are welcome.
