Floral Terpenes / Unusual odors

Years ago I had some local outdoor that had the strongest floral scent I have ever found. It was very interesting it smelled just like dried flowers.

Floral is a terpene I never really see mentioned, does anybody know of any real floral strains?

With the odor profiles of marijuana becoming rapidly homogenized I think it's important to shine some light on these unusually odors.

So if you know of any floral strains or just a strain you think has a very unique and unusual smell please share your experience. The sour chem funk is very common these days so it would be nice to hear more about different stuff.

My first contribution will be I grew some Original Haze x Skunk that had a nice perfumey dryer sheet smell.

I bought a gram of sale buds at Berkeley Patients group a couple of years ago that smelled just like old lady perfume or scented soap. it was pretty gross.

smelled one of those myself, strong perfume
got to be close to floral since many perfumes have floral oils

I had a pheno of Mental Floss that smelled like an french hookers body oder... My girlfriend thought it reminded her of roses. I have a pheno of Lilly that went thru a phase of smelling like sharp sweet vomit!

I've found floral mostly in afghani.

1) Mazar i Sharif hash
2) F13 (the more blueberryish phenos)
3) Panama x Deep Chunk (from deep chunk)
4) Homecross [PDC x Purple haze] (DC dom phenos are floral)

Come to think of it the floral outdoor strain I mentioned in the first post was called Early Bird if I remember correctly. It was said be an old strain that was inbred in the mountains year after year.

It seems Early bird was an old SSSC strain, does anyone know anything about this particular seed strain? Or terpene profiles of old SSSC strains in general?

It seems a lot has been lost over the ears, it would be nice to get a new injection of old genetics into the gene pool of some of these old strains. But I guess if anyone thought they were worth keeping they'd still be around.

I feel the time to preserve unusual strains is now, so if you have something odd be sure to breed it and save it.

Oh also I had a 2008 NepJam that smelled like canned tuna, it had cool looking buds purple buds, I wish I still had it.

understanding the steriochemistry of the organic molecule plays a key role in the olfactory nerves that smell. The difference from the odour of caraway and spearmint is only orientation of the molecule, not the structural formula.

Back in the day i new a outdoor upstate ny grower that used to rock the hell out of early bird... his bud were always floral... n top shelf...

I have crossed the female with a sensi star x nycd. The goal

So that's all anyone has as far as floral terps?

Must be rarer then I thought, I will have to pay more attention to it if I ever find it again.
I must be the only person that finds enjoyment in things other than the chem/og/funk these days. lol

Anyways, terpene types I'd like to see make it out again besides floral would also be pine, which also seems beyond rare. Oddly enough I had both almost 10 years ago, have not seen either again since.

Finding Pine, extreme pine..can easily be found in Dr.atomics NL#5(Indica Dom).The sativa side is a vomit\sasparilla which is kinda undesirable, but has more potency.

Had some proper Platinum Kush over the weekend. Loud floral smell and taste with some kush and fuel in the background. Made the room smell like floral incense almost.
The high was like a purp though and I hate weak ass purps.

Have a really strong floral like smell (some zest and stink added) coming from an unknown seed I popped. Almost smells like hops used in ipa during veg and early flower. My best guess on the genetics are asshole (wildrose) x some sour d afghan cross...but could never verify really. Packs on resin and is very very strong in smell both before it's burned and after. Loud. Starts flowering in 3-4 days after 12/12 and finishes strong in 8 weeks, around week 7 it always begins to finish out perfectly with a proper flush.

I chuckd'a seedsman Hash Passion with a females seeds Neviles haze hybrid( the Grapefruit version) after a two week cure the jar smells like banana nut bread.

Disgusting mix of Chrysanthemum (instantly think of pyrethrin bombs), Roses, Daisies? and other flowers. I mean, from a taste sensation/complexity point of view it's fantastic, I would just rather have a sensation/complexity mix of something other than 'flowers.' lol

First taste and you'd swear the bud was bombed with pyrethrins. Keep toking and (if it's grown correctly) the complex flavors of a bunch of flowers comes through as well.

Just really gross. lol
