I'd be very interested to see a side by side of the nugs you've grown with Jack's Hydro vs Booster. Density vs size. Amount of stem. Overall Yield. Etc....
I got a little distracted with some new "hired" help, and did not get a chance to take pics today. Still have some of everything to chop, so no opportunity lost, just not today ;-) But, from my experience, having run my OGHC at least 8 times, this run is not noticeable from my best runs...
Will get some shots soon.

That seems like a slight over commitment with a new system. Can you do 4-6 plants with the PPK and the rest with the "tried and true"?

Was thinking about that... I have some glue clones that i could put in coco, and veg for the next 6-8 weeks in the big room until it gets cool, and then flower them in there... Meanwhile I could tinker with the ppks... Who knows.

I like to bite off alot more than i can handle, in just about every aspect of my life:peacock::peacock:

Hey dabs if you have a great link that shows various PPK construction ideas *with pictures* send it my way. I'm reading imaginaryfriends thread interpretation of D9s PPK. Great info but light on the photo's of the system construction.

After finishing my first grow - yeah I pussed out and went with Auto's like I told you I might - I'm going to take a break and run differently the next time and I think 4 or 5 node PPK system might be the ticket.

I found my ability to create yield probably exceeds my capability to use said yield! My 2 month grow would last me a year and a half at 1 z / month.

Coco DTW is soooo easy provided you can keep up with water supply and keep your discharge from freezing up. Both of which become difficult in our winters.

So true. Always diving headfirst into everything with a running start and my eyes closed.

Not noticeable meaning it came out essentially the same?

Distracted by "hired" help huh? Sounds like it must be a female helper, no...? Haha

Here's a really old ->PDF<- from D9 and others. A few things changed between now and then.

#1: Nobody drills holes in the upper bucket.
#2: Nobody I know of uses tire valves anymore. I could be wrong here... I personally think they look like a massive pain, as does his manifold. I think drip line fittings/manifolds would work much better/easier.
#3: Wider/Shorter is the preferred shape of the upper bucket. Lower bucket can be any size as long as a large enough air gap is supplied. Smaller will be less stable, depending on control bucket size.
#4: I see no reason to glue (EWWWWW) the tailpiece if you cut the hole in the buckets slightly smaller than the tailpiece and you use the proper sink tailpiece which has the lip at the top.

Here's a Coco ppk I built recently. It's currently a single site, but modular and expandable. It gets watered 2-4 times a day currently. The last pic is the plant from a 2 gal pot I put into it. Each bin is 5 gallons.

Dabs, sorry to see the trouble. The plants in the last pic from 9 days later are beginning to look like they will start taking off now they have some more foliage around.

How high does the water level come up during floods in those pots? To me it always seemed the only way to get great growth in rocks like that is to flood the entire pot. Coco definitely doesn't have that problem, and a slow drip will saturate every inch.

Well wishes headed your way friend!

Yes, and yes... A little sore, but will have a couple days to recover while I finish taking down the room.
But yeah, the terpenes, and density are on point with previous runs with the standard Jack's.
The lack of Ca concerns me though...

I had the lights down hella low, trying to promote lower branching. I raised the lights, and reduced the floods to every 3 hours from every 90 minutes. When I flood, the pumps stay on for about 75 seconds , and that covers the rocks with water by ~.5 inch on all sites. Its not perfect, but its close.

Anywho, the rooms are looking much nicer. Give me a second and ill post pics of my build

Alright...First things first. Credit goes to d9, hl45, flat9. Copy paste. I didnt invent the wheel.

Second thing. You fucks were using a hacksaw to hack threw 3'' pvd fittings. Kill me. lol. Get a big long piece of the pvc you're gonna use for your tailpiece(I already cut this one, sorry. Stick the male piece on the end of the conduit.. this becomes your "handle" so you dont get your fingers close to the saw blade.

Get a pvc saw blade. do yourself a favor. Hooks right up to the miter saw.

Drill your holes in the feed tubs using a hole saw. Reverse that biatch. Its easier, and does a nicer job.. Push those male pieces through.

Hey Dabs...

Are you still using the 5 disk pond fogger from here http://www.simplygoodstuff.com/pond_fogger-5disc.html ? I remember you posting that awhile ago, but I swear a few pages back it looked like you were using a newer DIY one??

I'm building a new veg area and trying to figure out what to use to raise RH to a good level...

hope the PPK plants are doin better man.

Its not DIY. The box itself is DIY. The fogger sits in the box. I have a few different ones, but the ones from simply goodstuff work the best for me.

haha "hired help"

I love strippers. I used to mess with em alot back in the day, but decided I had danced with that devil too long and gave it a rest. One started coming around again the other day. I got quite distracted for a couple days, and realized...it is fucking impossible to hand water all of your ladies at 7:45am, after being up all night...2 days in a row.

So i ripped up all my rooms and built ppks. Not saying its gonna become a regular occurance.. Im just sayin... if it does:biggrin::biggrin:
