big plant ppk

I think its possible to do an organic PPK. If using something fairly soluble like biobizz. Only one way to find out!!

Could be done with a water only mix, but any bottled organic nute will go anaerobic within 1-3 days almost certainly causing root rot and other issues.

The system would definitely need some modifications for organic. Much more work and water would be required....but I think its possible.

What kinda treatment do you use to keep mites and caterpillars at bay? tried outdoor some time ago and couldn't avoid with the best of the treatments.

They get soaked in neem 1oz/gallon weekly as well as a few treatments of spinosad, BT, OG bio war, and i would not hesitate to use bayer forbid if there was a pest during veg that looked like a threat. There are lots of aphids chewing on them, but not enough to damage the whole. My worst problem yet here we have these 6 in long slugs that fuck plants up when they move across them and one decided to lay about a half a cup of eggs in my top bucket. Gross. Picked them all out with a spoon. Tree frogs seem to like the solution un fortunately and they hand out in the res. I also have dropped swirski mites a few times on them as a preventive. hope that helps.

So water pours in from the top and gets recycled down right? Was going to say top dress the media and run clean water but that would screw the pooch. High enough psi on the return and a micron screen to filter? What about ppk aquaponics. Run diagonal pvc for aeration. Or build the pvc with an airline inside of it. We were brainstorming all this a while ago, but it was a few friends smoking a joint. Nobody has ever run a ppk or tried organic Hydro in my group. Air and movement seem to be the biggies. That and cleanliness.

well, hello everybody! i guess i'm officially "back" now.

a while ago i hit one of life's little speed bumps and have used the occasion to relocate to a medically compassionate place.

i used to live in the middle just east of the big ditch. now i live where the sun dives into the ocean every evening. very close to a great road named "Five".

i am finally able to meet fellow growers and talk about it. a completely new sensation for me. after 15 years of paranoia, hiding behind a mask, in the back corner, in the dark.

i see that i have missed much and there are a lot of new ppk growers.

i apologize for not being here to help and not answering pm's but i was following advice.

that phase is done now and i can participate freely.

i have been and still am being aided by all my new friends in my new home, without whom none of this would have been possible.

to you all mrs. d9 and i give a big, heartfelt, "thank you"! we love you all, even the weirder ones, you know who you are!

it's good to be here!

Congratulations, d9!

It's weird... I'm becoming comfortable discussing with specific individuals who I don't associate with daily, but still hesitant to disclose the information freely, as there is still good reason to be skeptical and reserved - thievery, societal perceptions, etc... Albeit I'm in a conservative area of the medical state...

To business (when you are willing): ""what i do think will blow the plant up is direct o2 injection into the root zone between pulses. i'm thinking about ways to do that now." (Demonic Deluge #227, d9)" Is this still being considered?

ps. I've read the majority of both ppk threads and have a notebook full of information which provided me a successful harvest of marketable product first attempt! I've stuck with the advice of many and will continue to employ this method in hopes of achieving a dialed program. I'M SO EXCITED FOR PICTURES!

Welcome back...and Hello...been spending quite awhile digging through the volumes of posts in yours threads trying to tease out the most "current" and complete version of the methods you have developed. The loss of photos from your threads have made them a but harder to follow, but worth the effort. Just concerned that I get the most current evolution. I recognize some of the bits (vertical grows, rapid coco feedings, and wicking from below) that you synthesized into a whole. Thank you for your work please consider me another that you have "reached". Your new home and community sounds very nice...
Thanks again,

TT,
I have actually done similar for some time with oxygen concentrators, it's not very expensive either and you can find the units to accomplish this on Craigslist, plants grew huge, uncontrollable to the point that i ditched the concentrators, 7-8ft trees indoors are not for me

Thanks again,

Search for my posts. I put pics up of the most recent build. The concepts are similar if you want to use, say, a 3.5 gallon bucket up top as opposed to a 7g feed dish.

There be trees in there.

There be trees in there.

Glad to see the Master is back. All I can say is thanks. I've had a few stumbles but every thing is rockin. Three weeks into bloom and this is the only way I will ever grow. Had plants ready to go and tote split had hair line crack that I didn't see so the plants that I had ready got really abused almost completely dead. Had buds on them from binging stuck in a dark corner. So I started new seeds. I went ahead and put 2 of these dried up shriveled up plants in and in 14 days they were ready to go. Iv never been able to reveg in soil. There is no way they should have survived. They are 6ft tall covered with buds. Had trics started at 1 week into bloom. I am a convert never going back to the old way again. I will never be out again. Free at last free at last. Buy they way could you of not made this so easy. It hard to find some thing to do. Plants grow and I watch and I am amazed and amused.
D9 you rock son.

i had actually gotten to using a staggered pattern just before i was so rudely interrupted. approx 2 lbs ea with 3 1k's around ea.

well i have apparently forgotten how to post, this is in answer to grow4flow's lighting question.

howdy, i believe that this device could run "organic hydro", but you would need to find a pasteurized nutrient that was not already "hot" or active. then it could become so as it worked. starting non-active i think would allow the solution to reach stability on it's own as the micro herd grew to it's working level.

and this one is for "stayfoolish"

hey, terpene tom! grow4flow has described how i would try it. with an o2 concentrator in a sealed room so as not to upset the o2-co2 balance in the overall room but still temporarily increase o2 to the roots between pulses.

i will soon be posting pics of another build showing plumbing changes so don't touch that dial!
