hush's Kush x NL grow show - LED - 2x2 tent

R

The bottle neck in being able to do this is the seedlings or clones, Having a good solid clone supply readily available is fantastic you can plan days & strains you want to grow more to fit your needs IMO. Oh by the way if you start in LED I have found the plants want to stretch less and bush more

Hush, thanks for all your info. It's been extremely helpful. Question for you, Do you think these lights would work in a 3x3 tent? The setup I was looking to get comes with a 3x3 tent and these lights. The company website suggests 2x2 for veg so I'm a little concerned. Bloom I think would be fine. Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks again. :tiphat:

great thread, I think its time I pick up an LED and try em out for myself.

Your plants look super happy!!

keep up the great work

My bad. Just saw its the other way around... Website says 2x2 for bloom. So veg would be fine?

Yeah I would think so. When it comes to bloom time you would need to try to keep your plants close together in order to keep the canopy within the 2x2 specification. That would simply mean keeping a 6-inch gap all the way around the garden between the canopy and the tent's walls. Doesn't seem unreasonable. Good luck to you!

Beautiful plants! May be just what I need for back pain before bed.

I can't comment on the medicinal effects just yet, but thanks for the compliment. They really are beautiful plants!

Today before work I inspected the plants and I noticed at least 2 definite males. So this evening I will have to get in there and remove them, along with any of the others. It's hard to see anymore because of how dense the canopy is! So yeah I will remove those 2, and at that point I should be able to see the rest of them. :D

^ Collecting pollen.

Well it turns out I have 4 males and 8 females. One of the females is a runt. I think she got shaded out by the others early on. So I might compost her. But I think I'm going to select the 4 nicest, bushiest remaining females and narrow the garden down to just those 4. The remaining 3 would then go under the small LED because that space will be freed up any day now. The males have been moved to my CFL garden, and I'll probably narrow them down to the 2 nicest ones. Then I will collect pollen.

Too late for pictures tonight but I'll try to take some tomorrow.

Great post Hush I will be looking forward to the progress. I think you need to revisit that 6" on the perimeter on a 2'x2' or footprint that would mean just 1 square foot in the center. I tried a sea of green on my first grow a bit ambitious and for me didn't work well I am anxious to see the results best of grow to you.

Very nice. Do you brush lowers or dust the whole grow?

I'm new to seed making, so kind of both, a little of everything. I'm still trying to work out the best ways for my situation. :)

Looking at perspective on this kind of grow kind of brain storming.

I am curious on would you sort one of the best and use as a mother?
It has been my experience to use the bloom spectrum as on some pheno types retarded flowering on the full spectrum. It is all genetics if you want these little closets to produce. In a community that has say 5 or more of these little grow closets. it come as a blessing to mother a good and clone out to friend and return too. This will augment the crosspollination as well.

In a retirement community dedicated to a multitude of ailments Bingo night at the community center gives a young twist giving it to the man so to speak LOL. There is a place that sets up full system for $700.00

again best of success with your grow

I like to polinate around half the plant including the top bud. If you polinate the whole plant you will get some seeds that don't fully develop. I like the cheap paint brush method. This localizes the pollen way better than the cloud method.

Thank you! :) No when I said that stuff about the 6 inch perimeter, I was responding to someone's question about a 3x3 tent. You just read it wrong. :tiphat: Also this isn't actually a SOG. I was starting from seed and it was always inevitable that some of these would be males, and eventually removed. Which leads me to my next post...

Now that the males have been removed, it was time to thin the herd. Out of the 8 females I decided that 6 was a good number for this space, based on the bushy nature of these plants. Here's what I'll be working with from here on out:

There are several branches on all of the plants, so this space will probably fill up soon enough, regardless of what it looks like at the moment. ;)
