Using Colloidal Silver in hydroponics

Hi All,

I entered "Colloidal Silver" into the search bar and got no results so I thought I'd put a post out there to see if there is anyone with any info.

I've heard of Colloidal Silver being used in outdoor gardens with apparently much better results in fruit, flowers etc than without.

Has anyone tried, or does anyone know of someone who might have tried using CS in a hydro set up?

I have a small CS machine and I know how good the stuff is for people, I figure it has to be good for ANY living organism.

:gday:

Be careful. Someone turned blue using that stuff, ;)

using CS, you will cause your plant to hermie and produce feminized seeds, not so sure I would want to add that to my hydro system...

Colloidal Silver does NOT turn your skin blue!

Though this is a very old post it is worth noting that Colloidal Silver does NOT cause Argyria (blue skin).

When making Colloidal Silver, some misinformed individuals use tap water (high in minerals and other junk) and/or salt.

The result is Silver Chloride and NOT Colloidal Silver!

the test...

the test...

i am currently using cs in my ebb & flow system. i am on my first run in the flower room in both hydro and using colloidal silver in the water.
the clones are about 4 months old. i have no issues with mold or slime in my hydro water. ph and ppm's are stable. i do not replace my water, but only add water when needed.

If interested i'll keep updating...

How strong of Colloidal silver are you using?

I know i have great luck spraying it on the internodes during the first few weeks of flowering to induce male flowers to create feminized seeds.

I'm using roughly 100 ppm at 1qt per 32 gallons in the reservoir of 128 gallons. My intent for this is to keep the water clean of microbial pests & fungus and not to cause rodelization of the cannabis. So far, the 3 plants in early flower state are showing no signs of gender change.

as a side note. the only other additives i'm putting the the reservoir are nutrients (jack's classic all purpose)... no anti-fungal, no good bacteria mixes. just tap water, cs & nutes
