Ok, let's see!
This Jamaldelica had been sharing the same hole with the other two(the big one and the "Thai" one) till about end of May. She was the smallest and displayed redish hues mostly on leaf stalks and very little on the stem.
Around the end of May(29th?) I dug her up and transplanted in 20-25 lt pot with the thought of letting her there for the rest of the journey. But within two weeks her roots had already taken up the pot space and I thought to myself that was no good.
Therefore I dug a hole just a little bigger than the pot and there she moved. In a week or so there she shows signs of flowering.
Now I am thinking, rootbound? In the pot , yes, but in the ground where the soil is not rock solid?
Dubi, we need your lights!

Hi orfeas,

The semi auto trait in Zamadelica comes from Zamal genetics and it was most probably environmentally induced too when this concrete plant was root bounded in the pot although later was transplanted into the ground. The flowering hormones were already flowing when she felt there was not more space for the roots.

She will probably finish earlier than expected, around mid October, and will probably flower in waves, producing new reflowerings until finish maturation. We will see in august when this strains usually really starts to flower.

Thank you, Dubi!

My Jamaldelicas are expanding, the big one sideways shooting branches of 1,5 m and the smaller one upwards having reached 2,4 m already...

When I am at the spot I can't help thinking that you taught your seeds well and I, who am on the road, relish every bit of the ride:biggrin:

Morgen, Ruedy!

Like I said, Gina was one too many and therefore she was given to adoption to a shepherd friend up the mountain where access is not advisable let alone shooting snapshots...
Hopefully she will survive his goats' ruthless jaws...

How's your outdoor scheme gonig?

12 C low? Brrrrr, farking freezing! But then if your ladies are fine, who cares?

As for me, well, things have definitely got out of hand and the ladies are still stretching and stretching, leaving me wonder what to do for I cannot go around them anymore. All I can do is crouch beneath the canopy among the stems and peer upwards and feel frustrated instead of contained.
The canopy now consists of copious little tops touching the plastic cover and all I do everyday is bend and snap and clip, bend and snap and clip but them ladies are so defiant:laughing: with Jamal Hash leading...
Besides my exasperation I've got this fear that all this barbaric treatment might render them hermies:dunno:

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

You will have incredible shade under the trees beyond the fragrance...
One chair and enjoy the Amazon landscape around you Orfea!! :peacock:

Hermies usually comes after barbel pinching, rather than by the tension that is actually the (LST).

You have no other choice now.

Hopefully they do not become hermaphrodites, because it is a shame after all the trouble to make such beasts fag! :tiphat::biggrin:

Cheers TAMER!

Orfeas i feel you. Last year and the year before i had the same situation with Panama, Purple mexican and Caribe. Things get out of hand so quick. I was bending those branches like crazy and they were still touching the plastic! There's not much else you can do i think except bend bend bend, clip clip clip. Keep in mind that the fun part is yet to come when they'll start their final strecth before full flowering. Make sure you'll have air circulating between branches/buds!
That's the reason im growing in pots this year. Much more managable. Although its not as inviting and satisfying as seeing biiiiiig trees.
Im sending you some good vibes so it'll be easier for you to get things in place :)
Best wishes :)

Bleiweiss, I know things are going to get only worse when flowering hits in...
Anyway, the reason I've come to this lies mainly on two factors.
One is dubi( no judgemental intention at all though!!!) having said that my ditch could as well host 4 Bangis and the second one my "greed" that led me to squeezing in 1 Jamal Hash fem without which I would be much happier (spacewise)...
Another thing that might give me serious trouble is smelling...
Thanks for the good vibes!

Hi orfeas,

Well, Zamaldelica was bred for vigorous growth and strong branching. At this point you just can bend them down, clip them or even LST them. If size is a problem next year you can consider to start them later in the season, but honestly they look great, very healthy :)

I've abused a couple of my plants bent branches and taped them back together. Or just left them to heal on their own with good results. Best thing to do is to push it over and tie it down keep tying it down. I had a friend with a huge frosty sativa he used bricks to weigh it down. By harvest time he had 20 kilos of bricks hanging off the plant.
Really seeing the difference between the Bangi Haze, Purple LUI and 5 g's now. The 5 g's purple and blue are dark green wide leaf indica. The Bangi Haze is a light green color I'm not used to very beautiful. Not as wide as the 5 g's nor the thin classic Mexican or Thai more in between like a Jamaican. The large upright structure reminds me a bit Jamaican.
The Purple LUI/California Early cross are getting BIG. Looks like a hybrid with huge wide leaves though not as dark or as wide as a real hashplant. Expecting males to show any day.

Oye, dubi!
I'm afraid you've misread me!
My Jamaldelicas are flourishing outside where space restriction is not a big deal, if not at all...
It's the Jamal Hash fem I shouldn't have planted in the same ditch with two Bangis, which by the way are two distinctly different individuals. One bushy, one columnar that is. Were there the two Bangis only, I would have no problems at all.

@ therevverend
Nice laconic report on your bunch! You seem to have the same Bangis as mine and Thaibliss's.
Strange though that you're still expecting sexing second half of July. Males are much faster, at least in my neck of woods...

I hear you loud and clear on the bending bit! Glad you confirm it!

The Jamaldelicas are getting denser and broader rather than taller, which is exactly what I want!

Konopenko, it's scissors I'm working with atm and I hope I'll only need machetes at harvest:laughing: Anyhow, here's sth to peep out!
