Karma Genetics; Above The Rest!

PURPOSE:
Going on 4 years of unvarying results, I'm completely sold on Karma because it always outperforms the entire garden. I intend to share this year's results so others can see how superb this gear really is.

THE GEAR:
Going on close to 40 beans popped, 20 are between 3-5 weeks old and the rest are younger. Some of these beans: Happy Brother bx2, Original Amnesia, 4-5 Himalayan Blue Diesel, Chocolate Chunk, 4-5 Black Domina x Matanuska Mint, Connie Chung, NYCD, and a few I cannot recall right now.

The remaining younger beans: 2 Headbanger, 2 Sour Jack, 6-7 Cheese variations, Critical +, SAGE, several more Black Domina crosses with Sweet Tooth and NYCD (untested s1s), and I cannot remember the rest right now. Had a Biker that was eaten by grasshoppers only days ago.

It goes without saying which gear is looking strongest at this point:

Happy Brother bx2 at 5 weeks:

Chocolate Chunk at 5 weeks:

Himalayan Blue Diesel at 5 weeks (got butchered, out of my hands):

Sleeskunk at 3.5 weeks

Kaliman Cheese (came in Quatro Pack so I have no clue which it is. 16 beans of 4 strains came all mixed together....complete waste of $ in my opinion.) at 3.5 weeks:

STATING THE OBVIOUS:EVERY girl in the garden has had some type of issue. From over-feeding/water, to bugs/grasshoppers, etc etc....
All of the ladies are being fed the same, etc.... just a regular organic mix with watering as needed. Conditions are not ideal and this is where Karma Genetics really shines. The vigor of these plants always stuns me. The Happy Brother bx2 is obviously doing the best so far.

TRAINING: The only intentional training will be LST. Some things will work against my intentions as I cannot control what this guy (and his wife) does at his house. =[ My part is simply to give advice and correct problems if they get too bad. Just trying to teach the basics to an oldhead that needs help and never ran anything aside from bag.

DISCLAIMER:
I do not brew in-home nor will not for an unknown amount of time. I only get to see these girls once a week (on average) and might not update regularly. At any given time, I wouldn't be surprised if any of the girls disappeared for any reason. Daily care is far beyond my control and bittersweet when I'm only able to coach these along. Both of the baby SourJacks might not even be SJs. Buddy mixed them up and only guessed at which were SJs when planting. The Biker that was eaten by grasshoppers devastated me. We've lost another 7-10 great beans due to lack of knowledge and various frustrating happenings (again, all out of my control)....
As soon as the SJs come up, I'll recognize the vigor as being Karma gear or not. I'm really hoping to find a strong daddy but the only two I've found so far have not been Karma beans and have been less than desirable.

I'll try to get a photo lineup of all the girls sometime next weekend. The girls selected to veg longer are shown above. A rabbit topped a few Black Domina crosses as well as the Amnesia, all of which are already in the ground. The rabbit's work looks nice and the girls have all just started flowering/recovering from rabbit-attack. =]

Anyone please feel free to comment.

Hey rm,

Not good news to hear the bikers had run in with the grasshoppers,

It's usually the rabbits have the plants away here in the uk or the crap weather !!!

Be nice to see some pics of the sour jacks when you can

NYUF - thanks for checking.
I had the album set to private and didn't think about it effecting the post.

GA ..... I will have some pics of the supposed SJs soon as they are big enough to start identifying.
I do have a buddy (indoors) who has SJ going now ... I think about 3-5 weeks old. I'll get a picture of that one too, ASAP.

Thanks for the pics.......hope you find some great plants.

Have grown the Sleeskunk before......yeah, I got those as freebies as well.

How long is your outdoor grow season......?

Peace!

.....outside till they're cloudy enough or 1st "hard freeze." There's not a specific time, but I'd guess mid-November is about the latest a person would push it..

was going to ask about biker , shame , I woulda love to see those babies shine.
Can't express how freakin' upset I was. Buddy doesn't understand the treasures he's lost. =[

Looking nice RandomMan you know I already have a seat pulled up for the show.
:tiphat: Thanks for joining in.

Wow.... 4 days later I came back to town and the girls look like shit!

I told buddy and his wife to leave the potted plants INSIDE THEIR HOUSE when I was gone. I knew the heat was going to be an issue. Buddy's wife not only left them outside, but sat them on her porch and accidentally started baking a few of them (in the summer sun). I see some deficiencies as well as some over/under watering and suspect some roots have been burned up.

Notice how yellow all of the plants have gotten and how the Happy Brother is still doing better than the others (yellowing/curling least). Since starting this project almost 6 weeks ago, it's been non-stop torture for the girls. I keep having to correct things and Karma gear trucks right past the problems.

Many others have been completely stunted, died out in some less than understandable way, burned up, turned mutant etc. etc...

I was so upset this lady won't listen to me. I even got 'em a NICE LED to keep the girls inside the house. When I told the lady to leave the girls under the light, she said, "I woulda left them but they looked like they weren't getting enough light." I tried to explain that the girls didn't need intense light until flowering time. No avail. When I asked her what she meant by needing more light, she said, "Well, I dunno, the planted ones just look better."

All of the girls already in the ground look great. All plants are watered the same, fed the same, only difference is the heat the potted plants are subject to. That and the fucking spin cycle on the washing machine. Shakes 'em FURIOUSLY....

Facepalm.....

Ended up leaving the house after carrying all of the potted plants back inside. I told them to LEAVE THEM INSIDE FOR NOW! If the girls turn back around, some will be planted and some will remain inside. If they take too long to recover, I'm gonna say to hell with it and plant everything. It's just too damn frustrating to continually have problems.

Only the smaller girls with small roots aren't burning up, though some of the more sensitive strains are struggling regardless of size:

And for the mutant lovers, a single leaf/finger from top to bottom (sorry for shitty picture quality, was using my phone and sun glare made it impossible to see what I was photoing):

Quick update:

Checked on things yesterday. The heat was definitely the problem. Many of the ladies that were moved inside had already began to perk back up in less than 48 hours. Buddy's wife only moved half of the smaller plants back outside since my last visit. Up until now, she'd completely ignored advice given at random times. One example that's driven me fucking crazy, I asked her not to keep leaving the girls outside during the rain. Every single time it rains, though, she moves them outside for the entire day. If the mix had proper drainage, this would not be such an issue. As it stands, this caused stunted growth in many plants already this season.

All of the plants that were inside showed improvement except Connie Chung and Sleeskunk. Everything outside looked AMAZING! I plan to go back this evening and get pictures of everything that I can. I have a sneakin suspicion Connie needs some CalMag... Happy Brother seemed to be doing great and much to my surprise, the Hash Plant Haze and a random Cheese looked near perfect. I cannot remember the rest of the details on random girls, nor is there reason to continue babbling about it....

As for the other (younger) Karma gear, both Headbangers seem to be doing decent and starting to grow a little (right at two weeks old).. The two Sour Jack seeds are also doing fine so it seems that major disaster was avoided with the heat episode. I should be able to check on things more regularly now and do not anticipate another major issue, at least for the next few weeks....(fingers crossed).

The best part of the evening was showing up to a yard full of cages buddy's wife had made! She double layered chicken wire to help deter critters. Pretty nice cages, she even put lids on 'em! After a smoke session and checking on everything, I spent the evening digging holes and picking out homes for 6 of the ladies. Happy Brother, Chocolate Chunk, Sleeskunk, Black Domina x Sweet Tooth, Connie Chung, and Critical OG have all been relocated. It's a real joy using a rock bar to dig through clay and rock, especially in the summer heat. :wallbash: With a shit-ton of work, however, I was able to (eventually) find decent homes for everything. Hopefully "lady" will listen and leaves these alone and the work will pay off.

Going back this evening to build more cages and move some more outside. I'll try my damndest to get pictures of the entire lineup...

Things are lots better now...

Happy Bro bx2 at 6 weeks (slid right past another stunt session and growing daily)..
picture.php

Sleeskunk 4.5 weeks (color has returned to green and drooping has almost past.. hoping she'll be "praying" next time out)...
picture.php

Chocolate Chunk 6 weeks (less than 24 hours in the ground and she's already starting to perk back up)....
picture.php

This bagseed is really taking off - 8 weeks, obvious high sativa percentage. Beautiful girl (guessing) but hard to get in one camera shot due to screen/cage....
picture.php

Black Domina x Sweet Tooth...
picture.php

The last two are pictures of plants that have been outside over two weeks and fully acclimated to their new environments.

Didn't get to take as many pictures as I wanted, built 7 more cages/ dug holes for them, etc etc.... Will update again after next weekend. Big relief for me that everything is looking better.

Thanks guys!

I stopped by early this morning to water everything and I'm just amazed at the condition of the Happy brother. In less than 4 days, you can't even tell it had an issue!

At this point, all but 2 mature plants are in the ground. I'm super excited everything is moving along so well.... pictures to come this weekend/Monday.

Things are looking STELLAR after a few days in the ground and a fresh rain!!! Planting the ladies was the right move in my dumbass opinion...

Bagseed at 9 weeks old (in ground over 3 weeks now)... guessing this is a Mexican sativa:

Of all the ladies, majority are looking great with nothing to note. Happy Bro and Choc Chunk really have set themselves apart from the same aged crowd.

Some problematic ladies that are really coming around:
First is Hash Plant Haze that was on the brink of death before (looking nice now):
