back to grow info questioning.

has anyone tried soil stacking, the act of starting with a 200 gallon bed then increasing the bed size by stacking another 200 gallon bed on top, effectively doubling bed size.

example:
1. create a 200 gallon pot filled with desired mix
2. veg and prune for height and root system has filled the 200 gallon.
3. once desired height is achieve add a second 200 gallon bed atop, allowing the stalk of plant to produce additional roots in new bed.

has this been tried before?

it might be more effective to widen the containers rather than just putting more soil on top.

yea plant roots grow outwards not down…my friend did a grow a few seasons back where he just stacked a 50 gal on top of 100s, but the yield wasn't anything special compared to a regular 200. plus the main stalk of the marijuana plant should not be buried under any circumstances, you want the main stalk completely dry of you risk stem rot, hemp canker, fusarium etc...

plus have you have ever tried to lift a 200 gal smart pot full of soil? you need like 4 people lol….

i have heard of people just cutting the sides off their smarties and adding soil all around it, into a mound shape.

Just go with bigger pots to begin with. Use roots accelerator, and rapid start if you are worried about the pot being to big. Also add a bunch of earth worms for natural soil aeration.

Why would I have to leach my soil if its organic?

I cover them to keep the weeds from taking over. But the wind will blow some tarps off and I have to weed anyway.

Jesus, mention one thing about what's going on on my side of the mountain and look what happens.

None of you kids know what the fuck is going on.

high school kids have better weed than you now a days.

cartel weed is not stems and seeds and is being produced domestically.

Enough of that talk anyway.

The lateral branches would get in the way and I try not to remove them. I do remove some laterals, but that only add 8 inches or so.

When I plant. I drop them in and cover some of the stem.

Wider is better. The root mat does not go that deep into the soil.

Its been a long, long road to this point.
Lots of hard work is paying of now.

Its HOT, HOT, HOT.
We are in a drought, the creek dried up about 2 weeks early.
Its going to be dry and it feels like the dog days of summer are 2 months early.

It has been a great growing spring, It has allowed me to have some nice healthy plants and plant early!

Bring on summer!!!

I love summer.

Lol. I know it sounds off but it's true.

I do agree on one thing. Everyone under the sun does enjoy growing. Many good, many bad.

Ok now back to your trees.
