he's popping some hermy seeds to see whats gonna happen, i'm following along. i decided to pop some of my hermy seeds too, only 1 sprouted. well 2 but i killed the other one by accident. i thought you told us that the best way to find desired traits is by popping S1? or was that chimaera...

^^^ what he said, that about covers it
not every plant is pretty, but even the ugly ones may have something to offer

one thing i hoped we learned is thou shalt not be afraid of selfing outcrossing plants, for that is heavily done throughout all colors of that realm during varietal improvements.. And furthermore, to expect all plants' homozygosity (previously existing) to remain the same, while the remaining percentage of heterozygosity is to be halved per ea generation under that particular (most intensive) scheme.. ie we know what the odds are already,, we should be able to not only predict but lay odds like vegas re what will happen.. peace guys,, its good to see you all. :)

well, time to end this 1, consolation that no male parts showed up
but not a bud producing type plant, pistils on a stick
PH checked out fine, roots were in good shape
couldn't believe it wouldn't produce, part of the game i guess
fresh S1 seeds in the sprouting tray, addicted to the genetic variety

See any bugs on the plant? Looks like a dud!

dud is probably a good description
it entered flower, and then just kind of hung there, no bugs visible
curious how it would have behaved outside, but i would have had little chance in my area(NY) of getting it to ripen

some of the best clone only strains are bagseed

I wish I could pop a pack of seeds a day, it might still take a few years to work through, but I bet I find at least 100 elite clone only's

if you hold seeds, pop that shit, no new elites are found till seeds are popped

back again, and the tally so far
#1 - very good femme, closest pheno to parent
#2 - strong hermie, nasty strong indica of some sort
#3 - good femme, no hermie, good effect/not much for taste
#4 - a male, or maybe a strange hermie
#5 - very good femme, sterile roosters. good effect/excellent taste
#6 - good but some seeds, most sativa feeling yet, taste fair
#7 - no hermie, sativa looking pheno, tiny buds, suprizingly strong

2 out of 7 hermies, but open to interpretation

new seedling, kind of delicate looking
call it 9 days

a reasonable question
this is as daring as i care to be in a non-legal state
such a little fish would hardly be worth keeping
though NY did just pass a MMJ bill, not much will change from the looks of it

edit: upon some further reflection, there is a growing philosophy here
some very nice plants don't start all that well
i have a feeling that nice genetics often get tossed just because they weren't keeping up with hybrid speed growers
though it would be nice to run more genetics
i half expect a change in federal laws with all the action we've been seeing
and a cascade in state laws soon after that, just have to keep it low for a little while longer

day 17 of veg
not a bad growth spurt for 8 days
looks like a typical hybrid
which looks real good after the sativa pheno from hell

what i mean was why not get 4 small seedling in there to start flower and when one is a girl transplant and toss the rest.

see growers that do that
guess i'm soft heart-ed for a growing plant
killing them seems wrong, if i don't have to
point understood, i probably could increase yields in my chamber
and it would drive me nuts thinking i've tossed the wrong plant out

3 weeks in flower, this is going well
among the fastest flowering plants i've yet grown
just noticed the lowest fan lost some color
a little underfed? probably sucking down nutes like crazy
or so i would think from all the growing in a week
