at least you can take some pressure off yourself and delegate more of the jobs to people, hopefully these people in time will learn something from you:)

i have been seriously thinking the past few weeks of either doing DTW in coco but i dont like the idea of having water running through pipes in case of a leak. second story grow wooden floors so im thinking of doing DWC max 6 plants.

since the solution is contained and does not have to be pumped im thinking it will be better for avoiding leaks plus if im away i dont have to worry much. my question is in your experience what issues may arise or should i go RDWC.

reason for the long story is i just need some one to about it with. i have done alot or reading but just need it clarified :)

I don't know what DTW is. I'm a RDWC guy. You should go with what you feel comfortable with but RDWC has the fastest growth rates in the business when you know what you are doing.

blood meal in outdoor soil attracts scavenging animals...

I guess we will see what happens.

That is the type of job i would pay someone else cash to do for me:laughing:

Like I've stated many times. No outsiders come to the farm. I've had friends who went to jail and lost their entire grows from something as simple as refilling an oil tank from the outside. I don't take risks.

Long day today mixing soil. Not really sure how much we mixed but there's a long way to go. I don't know anything about outdoor but I tried to think about what would work for a consistency of the base. I have no idea what I'm talking about because I know nothing about outdoor but I didn't think it would be a good idea for smart pots to be filled with a dense soil so it took me a while to figure out the base. It's all a learning experience but it was a good time. After I make this mix I'm going to make an indoor mix and not use so much peat because I'd want to try a denser mix for indoor in smaller pots. I remember my old mentor used to use these real dense mixes and get amazing results. We didn't get a chance to take any pictures today but we will snap some tomorrow. The 4-Wheeler and trailer came in really handy and I'm glad that I got it.

Good luck, bro. I'm locked in on this on. Damn, if you lived closer, you could get this 50 lb bag of oyster shell that I'm dying to get rid of....lol. Respect.

Why use Azomite granules and powder? I don't like too much of that stuff because it's mostly aluminum silicate ...I prefer to get trace elements from rock dusts, kelp meal, and sea water.

Because I have no idea at all what I'm doing and this IC member is saying to use this and that IC member is saying don't use that but use this, no use this. No that's a bad formula use this. So hopefully it all works out because another IC member told me to use twice the amount of Azomite that I used and I only used half of what he said. It's like you organic guys aren't on agreement about anything. That's why I like hydro. When you know what you are doing, there's only 1 formula.

I feel you but in hydro your nutrients don't have to break down to be used. That's the confusing part. It seems in organics, things break down at different times. So because of this, it's like trying to learn how to speak Chinese. I did take Chinese for 2 years in high school though.

I'm not an Organic gardener, just to be clear.
I haven't read in here anything bout Red Worms. I bring it up because they will break all those minerals, and other amendments down to the macro level, making them usable to Your plants. Red worms also will keep Your soil nice and loose.
I would get You a Vermicomposting set up going ASAP. This will give You Your own source for worm castings for the future.
Like I said I am not an Organic gardener(yet),but I know that Red wigglers are a HUGE benefit to ANY garden/yard.

humic acids and enzymes and a good cook will get those things broken down I've heard 2weeks is a nice cook time if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not taking anymore advice on organics on IC again. Just had a long talk with a guy who knows what's up and he helped me fix my mix. I'll post some details and pictures later today.

I thought You said You met a group of locals, and was wondering why You hadn't gotten the low low on this from some who knows the local soil, and climate.
Glad You are getting it sorted out. I cant wait to see it all take shape.

Those are the same locals that I met up with today who haven't even started their seed yet and they said they'll still pull 3 pound plants. Last time I met up with them we talked about many things but I didn't write anything down until today. A lot of the stuff that we talked about the first time was me trying to understand what'll happen if I get caught which I was more interested in. What I'm going to use isn't exactly what they use because I already bought thousands of dollars on my base mix and amendments. For half of the smart pot grow I'm going to use the exact mix that they use so I can do a side by side to see how it compares. They said that the mix that I'm using now won't grow plants the way that they do in terms of yield but it'll still be great after it all cooks.

All knowledge has value, if for nothing more than a differing perspective. you can choose from a bigger bag o tricks. it will be interesting to see how the side by side thing goes.

Priority one is all ways knowing the lay o the land. Especially when new to an area.
Glad Your in a good spot, and sounds like some good Folks around too.

Peace; 1TT

Today is just a complete waste of a day. We ran out of tarp to cook the soil and ran out of Azomite and Bone Meal and none of the grow shops have anything. It takes 1.5 hours to go back and forth to each store so we just wasted 3 hours and now Snypette is just driving around trying to find anything she can. So instead of mixing the soil, I'm slow cooking a lamb instead. At least we'll be eating good tonight. Oh yeah, I got poison ivy when we cut down a few trees as well.

Check out the rotted sill that I have to replace this weekend by jacking up the house with a few 20 ton jacks and replacing it with new wood so I can get the new deck completed. Should be a fun project!

This is probably a good idea, however I'd be weary of anyone who says they can advise on what to do with what you currently have, unless the first thing they suggest is to get a soil test done. :tiphat:

Reading the growing large plants outdoor thread will help you a lot.

Subscribed! Looks like it will be a long and informing project and I wish you the best of luck :)

I'm in a slightly similar situation, moved out of the city to farm but sticking with indoor dwc for now
