She's teething like a son-of-a-gun. Getting in her dog teeth. So far she's only chewing stuff she's supposed to . . . except . . . she gnawed on the same coat rack Missy chewed when she was a puppy, only on a different place. Couldn't get too mad at her, precedence had been set. All in all she's been real good, even when we're out.

We haven't been taking a lot of pictures of them lately, so I don't have any new ones . . . except this one

The puppy is now roughly the same size (less mass) as Missy. Now Missy cannot simply bowl Cricket over. She's getting a work out and getting as good as she's giving now.

Long story short, she gets so exhausted that she does stuff like fall asleep chewing a strip of rawhide.

The missus decided to lay back down on the couch this morning. She was snuggling Missy when Cricket decided she needed in there too. Pushed my wife right off the couch. Not before I caught this:

I gotta figure out how to turn off that damn date stamp though.

Took the bouncing balls of energy out back to run this evening. I finally thought to bring the camera. Lot of good it did me. I need a high speed camera to capture these idiots romping all over the place. I can't keep them in the frame long enough to shoot.

In spite of that, I managed to get these.

Sniffing stuff . . .

and she's off . . .

Missy put on the afterburners and ditched Cricket. Here she is recalibrating her angle . . .

Finally managed to snap this fine action photo after they ran their happy asses into the dirt . . .

Cricket is officially 6 months old today.

She is still growing . . .

Also, she lost her last puppy tooth (upper right)

dang bro, she's got a tail n' a half!

are you gonna find out if you have a water dog BB? does Cricket play fetch w/you? maybe she'll chase a stick into the drink, or not, you might have to take her in yourself.

my old timer Kayla (springer spaniel) didn't like to swim, so I threw her off the end of the dock, :) @ first she sunk like a rock but surfaced quickly, oddly enough she never ventured out on the dock w/me ever again.......

Kayla's daughter Alice is a maniac for the water, Scooby not so much.

Heh, when she wags that tail, it goes in the Royal Wave motion. Tickles the missus to no end.

The Setter in her means she's probably a swimmer. Haven't had a chance to see, but I know snow and rain bother her not at all. We've tried playing fetch with her, but her attention span is too short to make a go of it.

She's independent, but obedient. Sounds like a paradox, but hear me out. Today when I came home from work, the missus released the hounds to come greet me. Missy then turned around and came right back inside the house like she's supposed to. Cricket swerved and ran into the back yard. I called her name and she came right away and went in the house. So she kind of disobeyed, but not totally. Just enough to let me know she could have done as she pleased.

Another thing y'all may find amusing.

One of Crickets less desirable traits is that when she gets excited and I'm bending down to pet her, she nips and pulls my beard. Sometimes, she actually pulls hair out. Hurts, but so far my beard looks fine (a bit dog slobbery maybe). I keep telling the missus that "Cricket's messing with the 'do, man."

The other day, it was really nice out and we had the dogs out several times during the day. Each time they ran their little doggie asses off.

That evening, Cricket was so worn out that the missus was placing cheez-its on her head. She got about five or six on there before Cricket stirred. That was one tired puppy.

Since then, it's been real rainy and we haven't been able to let them out back. They both are full of piss and vinegar. Can't wait for a break in the weather so we can let 'em run again.
