Regarding Breeder's Choice, HHF screwed a lot of people over in the past, be careful who you are dealing with.

Finally got around to uploading some pics of some of this skunky bud from locally around here in the Ozarks. Sticky, reeks to high heaven of rotten skunk and when you break it up you get sharp almost chemically fumes. Tastes like it smells - has that deep skunky bottom end flavor with a spicy almost astringent sharpness on top. Classic red eyed goofiness. It's the old tried and true around here.

There are buds from 3 different outdoor batches from different growers in the pics. Sorry about the pic quality heh.

Hey Brelva, nice buds! As far as rks pheno it stinks 10 times worse then skunk. Last one I grew was 2004 didn't even take a cut of it. We sat around and smoked it laughed about how stinky it was. Gave some to a friend to give to his dad. he was afraid to bring it in the house so he left it in his car over nite. It took ten days for the smell to dissipate just as smelly as a skunk butt.

does anybody here remember the superskunk going around during the mid nineties? to this day i have yet to get another strain as skunky. this stuff was special and it was truly super skunk.im thinking it was the mass super skunk or another variety of early superskunk that was just amazing.

can you guys give me ideas of what strains that are available that reek and taste of skunk. aficionado genetics 78 og la affie looks like a winner but its also 250 for a pack of ten. (but i have seen them grown out and some of the pheno's are superb rks skunky herb.

ive also noticed that some really good strains that fit into rks are also of afghani decent. seems like that is where the super skunk rks smells and tastes are coming from (or at least a good deal of rks strains have an afghani ibl in the mix.

the freeze cheese 89 skunk by big Buddha looks promising as well as there big buddha cheese which has the same parents as the original super skunk (skunk#1 x afghani) reserva privata has their rks which sounds good too but i have heard that people are having problems with the plants being weak in strucute and is an unstable strain so who knows what will come out of a few packs. cannaventure also has a rks and the parents are once again (skunk #1x afghani) i would love to get back that old super skunk pheno. it was truly rks and i havent had anything as skunky as that since. the super skunk i used to have was by sensi seeds before it started getting watered down with more of a sweet taste as opposed to the rks smells and tastes i would get from it. i love my og's and chem line strains as well as tw and a number of others that are skunky but i wouldnt exactly call them rks, lol. they do have some skunkyness but not like rks. i have a wide leaf pk that is super skunky so i will be looking for that to fulfill my skunky needs until i can source a real rks strain (which has turned into a 15 year search for the best rks i can find.). i think a cross of a really skunky skunk#1 and afghani is where the jems lie hidden. its hard now a days because skunk (in europe) is more of a sweet strain with little skunk smell and taste. ive never had pure cheese but id imagine its not rks since its an european (english) elite which usually equals sweet tasting.

i def think there is a pattern of the really skunky genetics having a skunky afghani in their lineage. (or perhaps a pure afghanie ibl that is extremely skunky would be the keeper.)

This. The stuff we got in central ohio from about 87-91 had the biggest seeds I have ever seen. Bigger than a BB almost round and tiger striped(we called them skunk stripes back then). Always came seedless until that last couple of years. Wish I would have saved some of them but by that time the stuff we were getting wasn't as potent as it was before.

Hey thanks for the replies. It's usually not seeded but there's the occasional batch with a few seeds. They're like little cannonballs. They've been known to bomb a bowl or two and send the weed a'flyin that's for sure :smoky:

If I run across any seeds i'll try to remember to take a pic.

So is the spicy sharp part of the skunky flavor I talked about, present in RKS? I've read through most of the thread and there seems to be some differing opinions on the flavor aside from it obviously being skunky.

I also noticed some people saying RKS is very indica, others saying it's about 50/50 and others saying very sativa. I'm guessing there's more than a couple strains at work here heh. :smoke: What I have here is around 60/40 or 70/30 sativa dom if I had to guess.

If you find some seeds you should grow them out and make more seeds.

The true skunk odor profile is a rare one, so regardless if it is actually related to skunk strain the smell alone could make it highly desirable and unique.

this is bang on

only saw a couple beasn here and there from the rks line back then

seeds were the size and shape of snow peas. big and round.

perfect tiger stripes. we never found any fully mature ones. i always guessed the massive colas and seeds were from the columbian or mexican influence

im thinking alot of the rks strain have both skunk and afghani in them. as far as the percentage im sure they very from strain to strain but that skunk #!x afghani seems to be in the lineage of most rks strains. alot of pure affies are super skunky as well. so im gonna say its because of those potent skunky afghans crossed with another super skunky strain is where its at. i dont think this holds true for all rks strains but a lot of the rks strains have that in their genetics. interesting stuff! makes me want to pop some seeds to find a winner afghan plant i can breed with. one of sever strains i want. herijuana is a super skunky afghani and its an ibl so i may go for that one. hp13 is another strain that makes me drool its so skunky and funky tasting. has any try'd reserva privada's rks? i hear it tastes really good but its unstable and alot of the pheno's are weak plants... just what i heard. thanks everyone!

What afghani's in seed form are skunky?

I always see people say that afghan is skunk but no one ever says which one they grew.

I grew some reserva privada's skunk and it wasn't that great, the "rks" actually stands for "Really Killer Skunk" not "Roadkill skunk" the one I grew smelled like vanilla it was nothing to write home about.
