Calcium needs different for different strains?

I've encountered some weirdness that I wasn't ready for. I have 4 Royal Flush & 2 Blueberry Headband ~6 weeks into flowering, 5 gal pots with TGA supersoil in the lower third. Everything has been just grand, until I noticed some spotting on the fan leaves in the upper third of the Royal Flush, deteriorating quickly into what really, really looks like a calcium deficiency, from the pics, one plant moreso than the others, one not at all. The BBHB are totally unaffected. I mean, totally, none of the same symptoms whatsoever.

I checked the soil ph, mixing equal parts distilled water & soil, waiting 15 minutes, straining the water out with a coffee filter. 5.7 with a calibrated Oakton meter. The plants had received only moderately hard Denver water all along. I used Cal-mag this last watering, yesterday, and they don't seem to be getting worse, anyway. I've had some gnats, so I used crumbled up mosquito dunks at the same time.

Are some strains just calcium whores or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

Yep. I notice it whenever I feed multiple strains from a common res. I always go with the less is more philosophy, so I always start off with conservative doses of nutes, and invariably one of the strains in the garden will speak up and say, "nope, I'm gonna need more than that" while the other strain(s) will be content.

Meh. After 2 partial doses of cal-mag last week, the problem has slowed tremendously, if not ceased. Water uptake & transpiration rate has slowed markedly in the affected plants, unfortunately, leading me to be leery of over watering. The BBHB are just sailing along, slurping up water the way they should, seemingly unaffected even under close scrutiny.

They all need to go for another month, at least, so they have time to recover if I'm getting this right. Or so it seems, anyway.

If I see this again in the future, I'll act more quickly. I may just dose cal-mag occasionally as a preventative with coco based mixes, just to stay ahead of it.

I've noticed, alot of times, the plants only need mag. And people are giving calmag trying to fix the problem.. I always use a lil Epsom first, and that usually takes care of my ogs n chems,,never really use calmag anymore...
Also noticed a simple up pot will fix most problems that were thought to b a cal issue..
PEACE

The symptoms more closely matched pics of calcium problems. They're less than 36" tall in 5 gal pots. Pic from a week before this started-

Front center is the most affected. Left rear hardly at all. 2 BBHB on the right.

^^ yeah, I doubt they are rootbound.. it's really hard to tell with the hps on, but honestly, they look pretty damn good to me.. all standing up, so that's a good thing..
Anyhow, hope all is well, I'm sure you'll get through ur problems.
Peace

Thanks for the encouragement. That's a dual arc plantmax bulb, btw.
