This for sure still works.Yes, work with different people for each market segment...or grow ultra boutique shit indoor and commersh out side and then hold the ultra quality as ransom over the same buyer so they clean out your work to get to the better stuff...but the latter strategy hasn't worked so well for the last few years since big buyers have unprecedented access to material in today's market.
This has happened to me, and most times than not it's like giving a mouse a cookie. I've learned when they keep wanting more of a hookup, I'll go to someone else for a while. Usually after being dry of your shit for a while, they will hit you back up asking for those 'deals'.using the same buyer for different grades of product has lead to problems for me in the past lol they like the savings on the cheep stuff but they dont usually pass them on down the line . think im gonna try to set 1 price per lb this year and stick to it for all my strains and crops.
Drue Bleam , it may work but on a tiny scale.
Serious buyers will laugh at you and move on to the next guy.
Bushmaster for everyone amazing what it does to some strains...give them the masses appeal big time

http://www.vice.com/read/weed-dealings-keep-your-paclobutrazol-off-my-nugsNow, I’m not gonna say you’ll die from smoking cannabis that has been grown improperly, but we really don’t know what the long-term affects are. Cannabis does have potent anti-cancer properties, but do you trust that they’re potent enough to protect you against what could potentially be in there? For instance: PG&E (Nor-Cal’s version of FPL, or Con Edison) uses a chemical called paclobutrazol to inhibit vertical growth in trees. It is in no way intended to be used in plants that are being consumed by humans. But, it can be found in two commonly used additives: Phosphaload, and Bush Master. Using these compounds improperly in weeks four to seven of the growth cycle causes the flowers to become denser, harder, and heavier. So, for the unethical grower adding dangerous chemical compounds means more money. And for the careless dispensary, or dude on the block, there’s no way to know that the grower has done this. You tryin' to smoke paclobutrazol? I’m not.

If I need to have a 'serious buyer', I have a broker that deals with 'serious weight', whatever the cut off point for 'serious' is... If I want to get top dollar in state, I go to my people. Wether I have 9 or 900, I won't have a problem getting rid of them, just depends on which people I want to work with. The quote last year from my buyer was that my herb was better than everything else they had got out of Sonoma all season.
Dude at the only club on the Coast fiended for my Chemdog so bad that I insisted He Cash Me out on all off my (indoor boutique) flowers at 36, if I gave Him half of My Chem at 42, those were the "Red Carpet" days. 04 -06.
It's obvious to me you have to spend some more time in this industry. Best of luck to you. There are MANY lessons still left to learn.
Those were the days...I bet he even said Thank you afterwards!
Now it's "When's the next load ready?"
Markets are getting bored of blue dream.
I think ultimately you might see the other issue later this year if El Nino kicks in like some legitimate research groups are saying...too much rain at harvest. If El Nino does happen we'll probably see early and heavy rains causing mold and rot issues in the field. It happened in Cali a few years back, maybe not El Nino but an early/wet finish to the season, and significant losses in the field. Only growers who were really on their game got away relatively unscathed.Any of you misers still thinking drought forcast will spell higher od prices this season or nah?? Im not far enough north to really see any of the action, pot growers are still a hermit niche where im from.. also been getting decent rain so not sure if it will be an issue still?
