Out of curiosity how much do your two 600s yield you - or say GPW?

I also run 2 600s but horizontal and want to see whats up with the vert and you have very similar equipment so I was curious.

I'll take a stab, say 42oz ...2x600, 6in vortex and some well prepped floppys! Once I stepped into diesel dons arena, things started to click!

Glad to have been influenced by one of the bestest homies there is!

Peace

pic's ? you know inquiring minds want to see. gg4 will drive you crazy trying to tie branches

Yea, this place could use some new pics, lol. I'll get some when the lights come back on. I think you will be pleased with how I'm treating your baby. She is a fiesty one!

Great to see this thread back up an runnin.

Sure you're gonna crush it.

Thanks bro. I hope you're right!

Heck yeah bro. Such a treat to log in and see this thread active again. It brings a tear to my eye to know you lost your sour though.

Yea, that one hurt. She was great. I was able to snag some Strawberry Diesel beans tho. I'll be happy as shit to have her back in my garden. And I still have a bunch of Rez seeds to run thru one day. There is definitely some Sour Diesel in the future

I have to echo what a lot of other people have already said. Good to see this thread going again! I've never grown this particular way of vertical but this thread was definitely one of the prominent ones that encouraged me to ditch the hoods originally. Do it up proper!

I agree! I like it alot better when I have something to post too, lol! Still reppin for the Vert guys out there.

1st time is see that XD u'r crazy ! Nice room and buds

Thank u sir! Welcome.

Dude! 42 zips would be grrrreat, lol.
My space and temp limitations kinda hold me back, but this one is looking real nice. 42 would be 5+ zips per plant.....hmmmm. We shall see. GG4 is definitely a flopper

I was reading thru some of my old threads last week. Hard to believe this is the same room. Crazy. I'm glad I posted em too. I probably would've forgotten most of that shit.

They've been in flower for almost a week or so.... Think they'll make it to the top of the screen? I'm keeping the lights up to get the girls to grow towards them. I'm hoping she wants to stretch alot more.
Probably another day or so and I'll turn on the mover and put the 6oo's in.

I haven't been tying the branches back very much yet. I'm giving them some breathing room during the stretch period. GG4 seems like she wants to grow out as much as up. They've been behaving for nicely for the most part... Once I turn up the pruning, they will get pulled back toward the wall more.

Looking very nice Marlo. She sure is a pretty girl and that branching is perfect for the vscrog. One of my alpha diesels branches the same way, wants to be a bush without even being topped or pinched.

Yo man, I find that I get the best "vertical" growth when the bottom of my bulb is at the top of my average plant. Then, I move it up, every day...

Seems like yours are about 6 '' above the tops of them. While this will certainly cause them to grow up rather than out, I would say you're also losing a bit of light...None of it is directly focused on the plant.

Just a thought.

How do you veg your plants? Vert or Horiz?

seems to me your the one not getting good use of your light, I keep mine much lower, of course mine are usually 5ft tall when they go into flower but I want all the light focused on the middle of the plant, thus I keep the top of the light even with the top of the plant or a little lower

Exactly. Ceramic fixture the bulb plugs into should be at the top of the plant, so bulb extends as much as 12 inches or so below the top. Light is coming out in all directions, including up! This type setup works particularly well with trees if you stack the verticals, so on an 8 foot plant, you have 1000 watts just below the top, and another bulb (600 or 1000) at the middle of the plant. No popcorn, just fat colas all up and down the plant. One's on the bottom are as good as those on top. I was able to pull 2 GPW with this setup using wall trellises and stacked verticals in Hempy buckets with coco. High yielding strains and two month veg.

EXACTLY . even if your only using one bulb you have to get it down as far as possible without robbing the tops of light to get those lower buds fat.

light height

Hey Josey, Dabs and Retro.... you guys are all totally correct. I had just raised my light in those last pics, and the GG's tops were halfway to the top of the light in 2 days.

But bcus of the lack of width in my room, I have to be careful of hotspots. So when the plants are as bushy as GG4 is, its better for my light to be up higher and further away from the chunky part of the plant, rather than burn fans and branches that get too close. Once the light mover gets turned on, this is no longer a problem. Leaves can get close, with less harm being done. The light mover was not being used at the time of my last pics. There are definitely some issues when trying to run 1200w in 32" of space

I'm somewhere around 30 days with the Glue now.
This bitch can stretch! While I was in early veg, I didn't think 8 plants was going to be enuff. Now I'm wishing I only did 6. I still have some headroom for her to go up.... but the side branching stretched so much that I'm trying to control the overlapping going on. 6 plants would have had more room to breath imo. But we shall see. Things still look very very good in here. CLeaning out suckers and fans have been a challenge in the back of the room. The size of the beds makes getting in an out a bit more difficult and the GG branches are everywhere! I don't want to go breakin shit in there. Needless to say, I'm still learning, lol. About this girl and my room.

I'm falling in love with the smell of the GG4 already. Definitely some funk coming thru. Its getting stronger by the day. Kinda smells like Fantastik to me.
The frost is as advertised so far. I've had plants show trichs on fans before.... but never on stems and branches of fan leaves. The next few weeks should be very interesting.

Pics soon guys

Aren't you tying branches back to the wall netting? That is what I did in a narrow space. Otherwise, branches would be going into the lights and blocking one another. Keeping them tied back to the wall gave me the space I needed. My room was only 5 feet wide, yet I pulled 22 trees out of there using that method...plants right against the wall with branches splayed out and tied back.
