hush's micro vert CFL grow

Nice set up and design. Using a vertical method in a micro grow will definitely be the most efficient use of the available space. I am looking forward to seeing this one progress:canabis:

I think you'll do just fine with stakes and nothing else. Your keeping ontop of things as always.

I was just referring to being able to stack nodes better with horz lighting. You mentioned veg time wasn't an issue.

Problem I've found/seen with vert vegging is they always stretch more towards the light then stack nodes. (unless using screens)

I'm excited as hell bro. Everything about this grow is gonna be awesome.

I've been wanting to make the jump to coco ...and this grow might do it for me. :tiphat:

Thanks man. Yeah, I know what you're saying now, about the stacked nodes. I hadn't thought about that, I guess. I can see how horizontal lighting would better prepare vegetative plants for a vertical flowering. Thanks for pointing that out... I will make sure to do it that way next time around, to compare the differences.

Think, this is my first post, lol, mostly just read when I'm on this site, but had to ask hush what did you use for that diy looking cool tube you got going on. Nice setup btw.

Nice man looking forward to seeing you finish this one out. I love the growth rates in coco I just get so tiered of mixing nutes. Is maxibloom dry or liquid?

It's a hurricane glass tube from the craft store. I secured it to a 5" x 4" reducer that "hangs" vertically from a 4" hole in the top of this grow space. Up above that is an exhaust fan sucking all the air out of the grow space. This grow is actually inside of a large armoire, in just one little section. My LED grow is in this armoire, too.

It's dry powder. I weigh it out on a scale, in grams, then dump it into the watering can and add water. Young plants get 5 grams per gallon, plants in full growth get 7 grams per gallon. Then I pH it and I'm done!

Yeah I'm not allowed to vote on anymore posts today...

So I figured I'd just say I found that post helpful right here.

I'll be watching this one, running in coco myself but I'm using the compressed bricks.

Have you ever tried mixing concentrated solutions of Maxibloom? I just recently started doing this with my Jack's Professional because I got so tired of weighing out the jacks, cal-nit, and Epsom salts every time. It has made refilling my res super easy, and with Maxibloom it would be even easier.

That's not a bad idea. I haven't done this though, no. For me it hasn't been that much of a chore using the powder each time I make a new batch. The "chore" part comes from the ph adjustments, not actually the nutrient. So I generally whip up a 5 gal bucket each time, which lasts a good time, for the micro gardens anyway.

Do you notice the nutes degrade at all while storing large batches? Does the ph drop at all over time?

Nope. Not at all. As long as the lid is on tight, so no evaporation occurs, there's no reason I can think of why the solution would change at all. If using biologicals, that might be a different story, but for chemicals, no.
