Def comes down to who you know...I use to get indoor BD for 19...GSC 23........Besides the purp highlights the BD was better ...Some of these growers aren't paying for power (or got the power rigged to where they got a 16k house but only paying for 6k in power) and can dump these for cheap or jus need the funds and desperate for money...too many of variables in this market

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- California Governor Jerry Brown said he is not sure legalizing pot is a good idea in his state because the country could lose its competitive edge if too many people are getting stoned.

If pot smoking gains more legitimacy in the nation's most populous state, Brown said he worries it could have negative ripple effects.

"The problem with anything, a certain amount is OK. But there is a tendency to go to extremes," he said in a wide-ranging interview aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "And all of a sudden, if there's advertising and legitimacy, how many people can get stoned and still have a great state or a great nation?"

Californians voted to legalize medical marijuana in 1996. But Brown said he is watching closely to see how Colorado and Washington handle their new laws that go a step further by regulating the growth and sale of taxed pot at state-licensed stores.

"We have medical marijuana, which gets very close to what they have in Colorado and Washington. I'd really like those two states to show us how it's going to work," he said. "The world's pretty dangerous, very competitive. I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together."

Brown, who was interviewed remotely from San Francisco, also discussed California's drought problems, climate change and his future political career.

Now, as he prepares to run for his fourth term as governor, Brown said that despite his progressive politics, the key to turning California's budget deficit into a projected multibillion-dollar budget surplus was exerting fiscal discipline.

"You've got to be tough on spending. No matter how liberal you want to be, at the end of the day, fiscal discipline is the fundamental predicate of a free society," he said.

Sounds to me what he said is that hes already been paid off and until he gets a fatter check it aint happening...

California Democrats voted overwhelmingly to add marijuana legalization to the state party’s official platform on Sunday, marking a shift from current Gov. Jerry Brown’s own position on the drug.
According to the Sacramento Bee, the issue was approved by a near-unanimous voice vote at the party’s annual convention in California. As a result, the party platform for state Democrats will officially support “the legalization, regulation and taxation of pot in a manner similar to that of tobacco or alcohol."
Despite the move, however, the issue is not expected to be put up for a vote during the 2014 midterms. Instead, advocates have decided to wait until 2016, when a larger percentage of the population is engaged with the national election and when more money could be spent to push messages.
Speaking out in support of legalization, California’s Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom said the state has fallen behind public opinion since it first voted to approve medical marijuana, and the time has come to take the next step forward.
"It's time for all of us to step up and step in and lead once again in California, just as we did in 1996. We did just that with medical marijuana," he told convention attendees on Saturday, according to the Huffington Post. "But for almost 20 years now, we've sat back admiring our accomplishment while the world, the nation, and states like Colorado and Washington have passed us by. ... It's time to legalize, it's time to tax, it's time to regulate marijuana for adults in California."

lol backyard doesnt grow blue dream, he is blue dreams ultimate enemy.

theres still profit in indoor, just not in residential on traditional power rates. and you wont be making 6 figures off a 10 lighter like you used to unless you are really really dialed, and it all goes out of state.

commercial power rates arent too bad at all, and if you can hit 1.5-2 a light you will be sitting pretty, even at 2500 a LB. its all about keeping your monthly property payment as low as possible to give wiggle room for electric....not fucking up your harvests and making rookie mistakes and not lowballing yourself and letting things off for below 2k a unit.

i know a few guys who are paying 5k a month in warehouse rent, then having to pay 5k in power...10k a month is a ridiculously high payment, still wiggle room but there are ways to get the same amount of real estate for half the price. owner carry/LTO are way better options than paying double market value for 420 friendly landlords. those guys arent stupid if they allow growing they are going to ask 2-3x as much for rent. most affordable warehouses all have explicit "no 420" rules. one spot i checked out even limited their panels to 50 amps per warehouse lol.....bay area and LA landlords are onto the whole game.

I laughed when I read ultimate enemy.

When I was growing indoor larges packs went for 42 up the board.

The strains to grow were headband and purple.

Now, same packs trade for 25 .. Overhead hasn't changed or increased if you use diesel fuel for power... Paying for power eats up profit from an already slim margin. You can't make 250k a year and pay your bills off 12kw any more.

Shit used to be so easy.

@Schrews I despise whack Kush crosses like platinum bubba Kush and xxx og that just create lackluster examples of an excellent brand name. The real OG is fire and painfully low yielding same with the bubba. When it's your business to grow outdoor , you'll see having the most units will beat out having units of Kush every time. I grew 21 bomb threats last year and would have grown another 75 units if those had been any of the other 4 strains I grew...

And what am I sitting on? Those low yielding Kush packs that I need to wait till summer to get the right ticket for in order to compensate for 4 LB vs 8 LB return !

It's simple math

@Backyard Farmer...

Lack Luster? i have a jar of SFV OG sitting right next to a jar of Hardcore OG, and guess what? they are both fire! the SFV is not any better than the Hardcore OG that you despise:

And Pre-98 Bubba is nice, but so is my Platinum Bubba:

finally, Backyard Farmer, as somebody who enjoys growing and smoking the above mentioned strains I can't help but be affronted and even slightly offended when you insult those great genetic lines while claiming to defend some kind of "'original kush' brand" (wtf?). Now please go be a spooge-oozing prolapse puffer somewhere else.

Here's an idea, how about ya bounce out of here and stick to trolling thcfarmr and youtube. Maybe you can convince all them folks to grow Blue Dream too!

Sorry Schrews but those buds look like they have room for improvement...

Og looks super pinner and over fertilized and your platinum bubba is looking like copper from over here..

If you grow Kush just to say you grow Kush, it's lame ...

Make your season count! 24 blue dreams 192 lbs! Do it!

Big up and thanks for seeing the light!

It's one thing to do stuff like cookies og and bubba inside where you can pull 4 solid crops a year...but for that one full term run outside it's short sighted to grow less units on purpose.

Save all that stuff for the deps when it will come out better and get an even higher ticket...

Sounding like a broken record of the advice I got from Tom 5 years ago and it's funny to look back on it now ... And give the same advice to the next wave...

Gotta say the same thing...only time I had trouble moving BD was getting low balled lol....patients request it and it's easy for me to break down........I know a guy up north who grows it and green crack out doors on a large scale and let's them go for 1000 a pop...I asked him to grow more OG and purp and he basically said the same thing BF said...grow twice as much and make more money overall or grow flavors and get a few more points per LB but have half the harvest

haha i remember that tom hill quote well..better to grow 8 blue dream LBs than 5 kush.

i had ZERO problem moving dreams this year....i was worried sick i would get stuck and lowballed for them but shit flew off the shelf at the same price as all the other strains. i got 200 per unit more for cherry pie and OG but the yield difference still means BD is more $$ in my pocket.

its also a hot strain in non med markets it has a name brand. we were all seriously surprised...this is over several different markets from all over US. blue dream is still popular!

although for 2014 no BD in my garden...got some other things planned.
