I've done a similar grow in this cabinet before, but I was experimenting back then. Now I know what works in this setup, and I'm going to do a complete grow in it. So, on with the show. :D

Strain is Lemon Skunk (9 week pheno)
Lighting is 125w CFL
Space is 17" x 19" and about 2 feet tall
Hempy style in coco

They will just grow upward with no topping, trained to bamboo stakes.

Hey!

Nice looking mini cabinet.. how was the first round with this setup, you got nice plants and buds?

Yes, this setup produces nice buds, but I didn't ever harvest that many of them in my prior experiments. Of all the things I was trying to do at the time, I ended up only finishing 2 plants in here, and they weren't vegged long enough. But this time around, knowing what works now, I expect I will get somewhere around 5-7 grams per clone.

Here are a couple of photos of the end result:

Oh, it is delicious! :D This is the only "candy" strain I have at the moment. It smells and tastes like fruity candy. I've been known to grab my jar of it, open the lid, and just shove my nose in while I breathe in the aroma. I don't even smoke it after that... I just like inhaling the aromas, it's the best aromatherapy I've ever had!

Hush,

Good tread, I like the set up, too. Veg and flower in the same box.

How long will they veg before you flip?

Candy smell, hash, or skunk undertones or pure sweet?
The first plant I had like that (not Lemon Skunk) I
laughed so much at how it smelled like cherry candy.

I had no idea a plant could smell like that!

I expect to only veg for about 3 weeks or so. This plant doesn't stretch much though, so if they aren't halfway up the length of the cool tube, I'll have to veg them longer.

The candy smell does come with a little skunky smell... It's still a skunk plant after all. But it's really sweet and tangy, like citrus candy.

Hey man. Thinking of running coco hempy buckets instead of my perlite ones... are you using hydro nute?

Thanks man and looking good!

^ Kick your shoes off and get comfortable! :D

Kief, I recommend it man. Personally, my only reason for going coco is I'm abso-fuckin-lutely sick and tired of mixing up media! So I needed to find a medium I could just open up a bag of and dump straight into buckets. Since no one markets a "Hempy Mix" of perlite/vermiculite, I had to look into coco, and I'm glad I did. Not only did it satisfy my initial needs, by being ready to go straight into buckets right from the bag, but it actually seems to have prevented that typical "transplant shock" that freshly-rooted clones always displayed in my traditional hempy buckets. You know, where they look a little rough around the edges until their roots finally reach down to the res below. There has been none of that in any of the 3 coco hempy gardens I've now setup. They just keep looking beautiful right from the moment they are transplanted into the coco.

I should add, this is only the case because I'm using pre-charged, pre-rinsed coco. This would more than likely not apply to the stuff that needs to be rinsed, and the compressed stuff.

Also, I was making my usual mess when I was filling the buckets with the coco, but this time, when I was finished, the coco just brushed right off of me, leaving me perfectly clean, unlike the mess that vermiculite and perlite leave all over my skin and clothes.

I'm a convert. Coco only from now on!

Agreed. Looking good hush.

Might want to look into horizontal lighting for veg though. That what the guys in the big cab's do.

True. I just kind of fired up this cab again as a last minute kind of thing, and just wanted to get it going. I had lemon skunk clones on hand and just went for it. I'll do what it takes to veg them properly with this light. If it means topping them, I'll do it. If it means setting up some kind of vertical scrog screen, I'll do that too. But I'm hoping I can just let them grow upward and stake them. They are naturally branchy and don't form single colas, so they don't grow tall. That's what I hope.

But I think it'll work out in the end. :D
