Stealthy Stacked Tubs

Getting closer to harvest now. Some of the Vanilla Kush herm'd out and pollinated most of these other plants. Really sucks because I spotted 1 herm and I think we pulled it before it dropped pollen, but my friend wouldn't listen to me about the others showing male flowers and decided to keep them in the box.

Oh well, there will be many more harvests to come. Just got a local strain called Rainbow that I'm going to try and clone and get running in this setup, plus I just started soaking 10 Chron Inc Reptilian Elites, 4 GreenBeanz Seeds Dawgpoo F-1, 3 GBS Lost Aliens, and 3 GBS Blueberry BX. All of these seeds were created by local breeders here in the Washington area so I am very proud to be able to run this gear and should have some awesome phenos popping up.

One thing I've been struggling with and would like some input on. How can I keep my keeper phenos going in this setup? I was thinking of possibly reversing promising looking females and collecting the pollen, but I'd really like to be able to clone and I can't think of where in the cycle I could fit this in. I've also been considering revegging, but honestly I'm worried about relying on this method and losing something really good.

Enough jibberjabber... on with the pics!

^Loving these! #1 is a stretcher and the smells on this one are definiely chem dominant. I won't be keeping this pheno as its just too lanky for this setup, but I can't wait to smoke it! #2 and #3 definitely live up to their names and smell like some stanky poo in fresh grass. So unique... I am definitely hoping to reveg #2 or #3 and will decide upon smoking them which is the keeper.

^ Got 2 interesting ones from this. #2 is turning very purple and has a nice sweet berry smell, and #3 is a very thin fingered pheno that is spitting out as much as 9 finger leaves. Looks like a total runt and certainly wont yield a ton (this is also because I put less coco in this bottle... oops!) but MAN the smell on this one is awesome! JUST like bubblegum with a little bit of funky skunk to it.

^ Really pleased with how these are turning out. Despite these being fairly well abused (light burns and over feeding on a #3 and #4) they are packing on the weight and really frosting up. #2 is purpin up and #1 looks like it may be as well. #3 got burned on the top and has had an interesting response, producing what looks like 3 colas forming out of the main stem.

^ #1 is the only one that hasnt hermed. Smells on these vary quite a bit, ranging from mild vanilla to mild skunk. Although these are stacking nodes fairly nicely I will not be keeping any of these due to the herming and the fact that none are really standing out in terms of smells or frost.

Very interested as well! Has anyone run these with a journal yet? Can you tell me about the Caveman OG cut that was used in this cross?

Didnt keep track of exactly when I hit 12/12 since I progressively moved toward it, but I'd say we're right around week 7.

Are pictures showing up for you viewers out there? Hoping my phone is just messing up cause I can't seem to see em.

I'm trying to figure out what pots are going to work best for this setup. I'm thinking some square mini tree pots like what anti uses would be good, but I've also got another idea I'm chasing as well. What do you guys think about a ghetto airpot using 3" netpot and a cocotek liner? Main thing I'm worried about is the roots not air pruning and instead growing out wildly from the container, we'll see what happens though.

Really wish they made 3.5" or 4" coco liners... Or even better yet some square netpots and square coco liners! The second pic shows how I stacked 2 netpots to create an air gap between the liner and the container they'll be sitting in. Hoping this will help with air circulation around the netpots and improve air pruning.

Photos showing up fine!

I think air pruning happens automatically when the root tips hit air. There's no magic structure or material that makes it happen.

Cool as long as others can see em I'm happy. The part I'm worried about is that I'm bottom feeding and leaving about an inch of water in the trays. Kinda worried about the roots growing out the bottom of the netpot and into the standing water then dying off when it dries up again.

The Caveman OG is a stouter OG bubba-esque style nugs. It has a strong earth, coffee and kush terpene profile. The stone is heavy in both the mind and body, It's a great night time smoke.

The Linage is said to be Abusive OG Kush x Pre-98 Bubba Kush, but I am unsure as to if this is correct or not. Testing should reveal what is what.

BTW thank you for helping me test this gear. Your Roxanne's are looking nice.
:tiphat:

No dude thank YOU! I don't know if I would have ever risked paying for seeds because I didnt think I'd be able to pop em so this tester situation has been a huge help to me as well. If you have any suggestions/requests for things you'd like to see from these journals don't hesitate to shout it out.

100% germination on all the GBS seeds and 8/10 so far on the Reptilian Elites. Getting so stoked to chow down on these little budsicles! But I'm even more excited to pack this box to the gills and see how the setup runs at capacity.

Updates yo!

Plants are growing along nicely, this bottom feeding coco business has been the ideal situation for a grow that can only be inspected once or twice a week. We lost almost all the reptilian elites, 1 of the dawgpoos, and 1 of the lost aliens. Think it had something to do with our pre-treatment of compressed coco bricks.

Roxannes are the closest to finishing so I'll show pics of them first and then update the others as they ripen up. Had to harvest 1 early due to it being light burned which is a shame judging by how the other ladies are doing but you can't complain about some smoke! I think the breeder best decribed the aromas from this one: blueberry yoghurt. Perfectly describes the sweet berry smell with undertones of a funky/sour smell.

^ Hey! Pink buds! Didn't notice that trait before.

Well unfortunately things have gone somewhat south on this grow. The box was not completely light proof and this extended "daytime" hours past 12/12. The result? All of the plants jumped back into veg/preflower and started to push out more young flowers.

Pulled the Roxys because they were already so close to being done. Not sure what I'll do about the rest, and it's a shame because some of these Dawgpoos were looking AWESOME.

Also accidentally killed off one of the Essence. Not sure how my friend did this, but when I got there it was within an inch of its life. Hacked off the upper part of the plant and threw it into a veg area... fingers crossed on this one bouncing back as it had such a unique and distinct bubblegum smell. Seriously made me drool.

And reporting back on these ghetto airpots. Seems to be doing GREAT! Since I started giving nutes to the Kalimist it has taken off and is looking really healthy and since I've yet to see a root poking out the side of the netpot I'm going to assume the air pruning idea is working. We'll see what happens when the roots completely fill out the area... should be interesting!

Time to dust off the shitty old Rubbermaid bins! This time I'm trying to do things right. Ditching the HID lights in favor of the better spread of CFLs and I've built a separate veg box so I can pop seeds and keep desirable phenos going.

If all goes well and my plans come to fruition, I'll have over a hundred plants in here with the majority of those being dedicated to a breeding / pheno hunting program.

Oh may as well draw in the haters...

I've already got one plant about 3 weeks into flower. A single bagseed I found in a prime nug of girl scout cookies (the forum cut). I've taken a cutting of this bagseed and have been applying colloidal silver with the hopes that it will produce some viable pollen to make some GSC S1.

If that doesn't work out, then I'll just have to work with these (kromes the white x jj's stardawg) x deep chunk male that are just poking their heads above ground now.

Stay tuned folks, things should get wacky pretty soon here.
