I would like to ask you guys a question because I have been looking into concentrates i.e. BHO.

Doing the math
16oz=448g
448g x 12% (average return on BHO)= 53.76g
53.76 x 15/g= 806

So why would anyone go to the trouble of making the BHO other than personal use when you can get rid of bud for equal. Of course I can't say these prices hold water in every MMJ state.

Asked this quetion in BHO thread but got no answer. Maybe its a stupid question but the math says otherwise.:tiphat:

Thanks

Like Pono said, most is made with trim or shake valued at $100-150 a pound.

If people are doing nug runs, they're probably really into BHO or are unable to move the product as is. Unless perhaps you know your nug run will return %30... I ran a really cheap lb of OD once and it didn't produce much more than 10-12%... but this wasn't anything I'd ever smoke either. I'm tempted to try a small good nug run sometime for comparison.

Is it cheaper to trim a pound or process it into bho?

Thanks for info guys much appreciated. I knew they were running trim but had heard of people runing bud but I was mistakenly thinking it was common practice.

I've been all over california recently, seems that top shelf indoors are going for about 2400 in Norcal and 2800 in SoCal. It is rare to see anything go for more than 3000.

Good outdoors is about 1200 for a pound up in Norcal and a couple hundred more in SoCal.

Central Cali is somewhere in between the two. literally and market-wise. haha.

Like he said.

448 gms has ALWAYS been lb weight in the US , but yeah the UK and Euro market uses metric weight @ 28.34 gms per oz and 454 for lbs , so that`s where the math comes from jackel.....

Not to say that we don`t weigh lbs. over 448 as gestures of good faith , and or 30 gm ozs. , but here 448 is standard measure...

1 lb is 454g, there is where the fucked up market in cali comes from...the metric system is the metric system, there is no making one up. Conversions are set, there isn't a range...

BTW if you actually vend 454g, you would be surprised how much reputable places are willing to give...over 3k easily for indoor.

Since we don`t use or recognize metric weight in the US , how can you say anything but that 448 has always been the weight for lbs Calcio......at least it has for everyone I know from the US , coast to coast , north to south.....and that`s many many folks over the 34 + yrs I grew....now....

Do the clubs give ANYTHING over 28 gms for an oz ?.....or 3.5 for 1/8`ths , 7 for 1/4`s , 14 for 1/2`s ?.....You and I both know better.....as I stated above....

I always GAVE extra as a gesture of good faith , but guaranteed 448 is the standard here across the board , and that`s why the original post was made about 448 , and I merely came in to tell jackel where that unit of measure came from.....

Vend 454 to the clubs , and bet your ass it goes in their cash registers for the extra 6 gms.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:....

I haven't put out a 448g pound in my whole career maybe. but 448 is the standard pound. I just throw in the extra quarter so I never have to hear bitching. i hate the bitching when i aint the one doing it.

plus a little extra in each gives some slack if the buyers want to pinch off some showoff nugs to other clients ect

Recall spitting kilos with a saw and doing eyeball splits . Wasn't the way it worked was the seller did the splitting, with the buyer choosing between the two packs. That was how it was for me and mine anyhow. That left about 500 grams in each . Life was simple then. Even math always was !

I think it's all about quality and salesmanship. I see dudes going to the clubs looking all sketchy with five gallon buckets of buds; of every vendor that has shown me his buds, I have met while vending at the clubs, I have seen one with good trees. Most people aren't good growers, or if they are they don't realize that what happens after chop is as important as before and they destroy their harvest with crappy post harvest practices. And I think that next to no one try's to be a professional in this industry. There are a couple clubs in the bay that like our bud enough that they say call before we come and they will go get cash and buy whatever we have. Down side is they never want more than two of any kind so I have to bring down many varieties. I still get 17 for my outs in the bay, but I haven't done more than ten at that price.

How bout concentrates we took down some bubble bag made crumble bomb hash to a club only asked 6 per gram, and they totally snubbed it. It wasn't just made with trim either but a lot of little popcorn budz

448? wtf is a few grams to a grower. 460 gives people room for samples which means more people will possibly ask for more and makes ya stand out.

where on earth is 448 "the standard pound", lol (I imagine some shitty jam band parking lot with some douchey, omnipotent, conscious types). I feel the age of idiocracy is engulfing us.
