I have no actual proof, but it appears dorm grow may be selling Grow Stealth's old units. Based on just my perusal of the site and specs.

Definitely have to watch it with most retailers as they do tend to grossly exaggerate the wattages. Seems like most run at 50% of what they are advertised.

Plus this place lists actual wattage so you know what you are really getting. Not to be nit picky here, but I question the Onyx. Xm-l top bin is great, but higher bins still...These are Aquarium fixtures and as such be prepared for something that doesn't quite crossover....Plastic splash lens?

Also why run such an inefficient driver setup. This is just about the only top quality light with a remote Driver, great for functionality and water conditions, not as good as it could be for efficiency.

I would call and ask if Rapid would do a custom fixture. What is nice, is that they sell the bare frame for $100, which I think is more than comparable for a DIY kit, maybe one of the best out so far, with everything bundled. That part is cool as hell....

Hans, yes great panels. I hinged because I wanted all white even though two or so would have fit for me.

The rhino though.....that is new territory and has me intrigued, especially because they post their PAR #'s!

Are you using the Rhino now? How far are you hanging it if so. I still think passive is ultimately in the indoor grower's best interest, but using a fan has me swayed lately because of efficiency, but shit.....the rhino has me intrigued to say the least....kudo's!

Does anyone have experience with the newer Philips Greenpower LED spots? They're 18 watts and apparently suited for flowering, but they're crazy expensive for 18 watts. I have a spare E27 socket in my micro growbox and I'm currently using a 36w CFL in it, and wondering if I'd see an increase in yield by replacing the 36w CFL with the 18w LED bulb (increase in yield worth the 70 euros).

This 1 x 4 panel was for an idea I had a couple years ago to line a tent with panels, or just make a frame and use these for walls

This one is ~ 36w WW. I need to figure out how to remove the diffuser

Currently (npi) in the open flap area facing the plants to little visible effect

High Bay leds came out shortly after and are a much cheap and more viable option

None of the multispectrum leds are a good choice.

MJ wants a FULL spectrum of WHITE across the entire PAR zone. IR need not apply, plus these IR are super crappy and will die in short order

Better to buy something along this line, mixing day light + warm white (reddish)

Looks exactly like something I need. I lack the skill to build something like that though. Very good looking light.

I am now using BML SPYDR 600, said to be equivalent of 600 hps.

Fully opened it has a 3 x 3 footprint, said to cover 4 x 4

In just 7 days I have seen a huge bud explosion

Note, it is not a pink/purple light- a bad myth for mj. Keep in mind those lights were developed for non mj horticulture.

Also white emitters have improved ten-fold in just the last 2 years

Today's NW or WW cover the entire PAR range, so just a bump in red for flowering is all that's needed

BML let's the buyer select their own spectrums

Mine is > 90% white with < 5% red @ 625

What do you mean by 'impressive'? Look at my results, very impressive

But might be that the software isn't updated. The design of the bars looks ver solid. spreading out the diodes and having sharp angles in the lenses should probably do wonders for footprint and penetration!

Think about this

More lumens per watt means fewer diodes/chips are needed,

BUT,...

it could mean less uniform canopy coverage, as each diode would tend to act more like spot lights

Guys are doing DIY with 100w WW Cree COBs, and getting very good results,

BUT,

I would rather have 2 bars with 3 diodes @ 30w spread out for better coverage at the outside edges
