if i had to do it all over again i would definitely check out calaveras, seems pretty chill from what I've seen and the folks i know out that ways seem pretty confident with their limits (99 per property) and they say the local sheriffs are OK for the most part.

backyard i got a guy for ya lol, would be awesome to call you a neighbor i can point you to certain areas and also advise to stay out of other areas. a lot of the guys "in the know" try to wax on grow specific properties, I've found the best way to get a good price is to do the searching yourself and find a property where the seller/agent are oblivious to pot growing. once theres a pre established garden leasers/sellers tend to get greedy and demand larger % down payment or ridiculous balloon payment or end product % taken off the overall yield.

most of the folks i know who are talking are pretty confident about the referendum, and also a pretty well connected source not involved in cannabis but the AG industry told me that once the third referendum kills their attempt at restricting grows, the supervisors can't push forward any more laws on the grows. i am not 100% confident of his advise but he's a pretty damn smart guy who knows the county really well, he was saying that butte county would be a future mecca for large scale AG farming since our voter base is so pro-growing judging from the way we killed the previous proposed ordinances. it was good to hear but I'm still skeptical and hope he's right!

I live in butte and know a lot of the people who created the referendums and they said that when this next one goes to vote, if it's in our favor, the supervises will no longer be able to start this shit. They've wasted so much money and Ramsey sucks. The guy who has been the most active in this is going to run for a superviser seat. Cross your fingers!!!!!!

yea the voters need to send this ramsey POS and the other chico board of supervisors a clear message. i know that in the suburbs and subdivisions of chico that OD growing can be a nuisance to the seniors and families, and maybe 150sq ft seems reasonable for someone with close neighbors and a small backyard, but chico is only a tiny speck of butte county. they need to account for all those who live on properties of 10-20+ acres with remote privacy, and they also need to factor in ALL THE DAMN MONEY WE BRING TO BUTTE COUNTY, most growers up here spend tens of thousands in taxes and other goods and services.

And there in lies the insanity...or the stupidity. Butte, Tehama, Shasta and on up into Siskyou. Butte thinks it can get by primarily on college fund income like it did in the 70's, Tehama has always had the commercial orchard income although it isnt exactly the San Juaquin, but Shasta and Siskyou? All they have is the I-5 corridor keepin them alive and that aint sayin much. These 2 counties would have dried up n blown away many years ago if not for the grower revenue...CC

This is exactly right and it's true for all of NorCal. I mean when legalization happens and corporations take it over NorCal is gonna look like Mississippi. The politicians really do not understand how much grower money is spent in these communities. They should be passing laws to protect mom and pop growers honestly.

yup, butte countys only industrys are senior care, logging, and small orchards, they have a good reputation for olives but i see plenty of old olive orchards that arent even harvested so doubt its doing that well.

grower money not only props up the property values, but the property taxes alone have increased and they get a huge chunk of money from that. and dont even get me started on all the home depot, walmart and hydro store revenue we bring in, not to mention when a grower gets his first 100k in cash they usually go buy shit like new trucks, ATVs, property upgrades, more properties.

WE ARE AN ECONOMIC BOOST and its pathetic they dont realize that. Denver is reaping millions in tax revenues because they got with the program and got on board with legalization in CO. when legalization hits CA butte needs to get on board, its a huge economic benefit to the county. the emerald triangle, SF, oakland, berkeley, los angeles are all very likely candidates to allow commercial legal cultivation, i hope butte county joins that group.

We will need radical change to get the board to embrace legalization in butte. Mmj passed in 1996 and these fools are still fighting it. They put an end to the dispensarys here, which were doing real well. They were getting sales tax, but why not get a mmj tax??? I hope the guy I mentioned earlier gets on the board of supervisers. The spot he would take is Larry wahl who is the main guy against mmj....straight out of 1950's conservative America.

stay out of berry creek, yankee hill, magalia and forest ranch if you can…..lots of police activity up that ways and stories of forest service and DEA doing saturation traffic stops on cars coming out of berry creek and yankee hill.

palermo is alright if you can find good water, but theres a lot of very large 99 plant grows there and i feel like they are due for a few compliance checks next season. they raided a bunch of shit in palermo in 2012 then no raids in 2013 so id say 2014 have your paperwork in order.

True except forest ranch. Forest ranch is probably the best in butte county. It's just hard to get into.... There's not a lot of full sun spots available. The top pot cop lives in forest ranch and his wife grows 6 plants. If your not a fuck head and keep it under 100 they leave you alone. Just have your paperwork. I've had countless friends not get in trouble there. Forest ranch is only 25 min to Chico which is a college town that's cool for the most part. All the other spots in the hills on the oroville side are way more tweaker and redneck.... And WAY more rippers.
