I live in Texas. A state where I am allowed a permit to carry a firearm. I am afforded the freedom to carry a weapon - to protect life. This is also one of the most narrow-minded states in the union regarding cannabis laws. Were I to be caught with a grow, it would land me in jail with the same people that I probably have the permit to protect me against!:p

I'm not saying that there isn't problems in every society, but I am afforded the responsibility of carrying a weapon capable of depriving someone of life, while it is felonious to grow a naturally occuring plant that is able to bring pain relief.

Being in the middle of the Bible belt, I am surrounded by narrow minded people preaching the evils of marijuana, all the while choosing to remain blind to the fact that GOD made the plant for man to use.

Its a strange time and place to be living in. After showing my wife travelogues on the Netherlands, she remarks how nice it would be to live in a land of tolerance.

Maybe one day....:)

I live in England where it's becoming lax. I am unsure whether the down-grade to class C has happened yet or at the end of the month/early next month, but this is definately a move that is warmly welcomed by most. However what we don't realise is that though it's getting down-graded, a few of the rules are getting changed also so that it's similiar to the class it was in anyway.

There are a few places in England that are allowing Ganja to roam the streets - Brixton and somewhere else in London. However, i do not know whether or not it is truly easy-going there or just the trial of downgrading to Class-C. I do know, that Brixton has a bad reputation, and though stereotypes are not always right (look at what lies they've said in Reefer Madness), it may have helped the police focus on what really matters - True Crime. Having said that though, it's funny what society names as Good or Bad, how do we know?

I remember a year or so ago, there were a few Cannabis Cafes opening around the country - the one i remember was the one in Surrey. They got closed down of course, seeing as Cannabis wasn't legal.

We have a Cannabis March every year here too... Normally around May or June. Lots of people blazing London up in protest, giving a new meaning to the song "London's Burning." :p

With the down-grade, everyone in UK will be allowed to burn in their own privacy, just so long as they aren't venturing near Schools etc. I think this is good, however it's misleading as are most laws. What it means is that we're allowed to burn, so long as no one knows... Isn't that what we do anyway?

[edit] I couldn't really choose an option in that poll as i feel that it could be better in UK (as in legal). They're not harsh, and they're not fine...

as a sick bastard in california i don't have as much to complain about as most others in the free world, but that's not to say that i like the way things are here.

it feels like the patients are the rope in the tug-o-war between people that have or would have influence over the medical-cannabis industry and the politicals/authorities that make a business out of being able to raid people of their lives. powerful people on the legalization the side of things want to make their money on convalescent have no choice but to seek cannabis therapy, and authorities want to pretend that social security heals all of this society's incumbents and that being payed to ruin the lives of others is an honest business as long as the people you aren't attacking continue to look the other way.

a person will find little peace in california compared to what one would expect. it's the choice of having the blood leeched from your body by compassion clubs or being eaten alive by the wild boars of law enforcement.

I think they are just fine in the UK. I can walk down the street with a J and i can always get hold of weed if theres none about... i dont think i'd like the dutch aproach over here, it would become a tourist trap.

Hope in Texas?

Hope in Texas?

As it stand right now the state laws of Texas regarding the possession of MJ are as lousy as they can get, however I just read an article at TY.com that said there is a group in Austin trying to get the legislature to look into the possibility of legalizing MMJ. Ahhhh, a fella can dream, can't he?

were i live is so f^#kup with the law that i dont know what to do some times.
i got busted couple times for no more than a joint and the other time they arrest me for a couple sticks and seeds they found it in the car. and there were times were i got cot and the cops just give me shit and let me go.this is all fine for small amount. i got six month probation and $30 fine twice. but i know many that eny thing over 1oz and you are a dealer. than i see people do time. and i also see that if you spend $10.000 to $20.000 on the lawyer your chances of getting off are huge. so if you got a lot of money you dont worry like a guy with little or any. looks to me the law was made for the rich and poor man pays even if he got nothing to pay with.

i fought the law and law won

peace

Law in Poland sucks

Law in Poland sucks

I live in Poland. All I can say about the law here: IT SUCKS.
For growing - 2 years
Even possesion of marijuana is illegal. Dirty pipe or old bag found in your pocket and it is possible that you are going to be busted.

The laws used for any other vegetable, fruit, seed, flower or root should be applied to cannabis.
Until then i refuse to abide for those laws.

Baked Alaskan

I just moved from Alaska to South Dakota. Alaska has reasonable laws concerning cannabis, South Dakota is a whole different deal. It is very illegal in SD, people who use it as a medicine here will still get arrested but can use a "medical" defense.

South Dakota is a reactionary state, not a thinking state. When the people here found out that climate change is discussed in schools they passed a law that teachers also had to teach astrology and a bunch of made up science. I havent seen the law in a while but there were all sorts of made up words and spelling errors.

The only way cannabis will be legal is if the duck dynasty guys tell the people here to legalize it.

I miss talking to people who think.
