I always assumed big pharma's opiate pills were synthetic. Something sounds absurdly incorrect about them "bringing in" poppy plants from 1/2 way around the world. Logic is telling me the synthesize a molecule to mimic something in nature, to a degree, that also fits into a receptor in our bodies.

And to be honest, I'd never heard of the US trying to eradicate production in Afghanistan, just the opposite ... They openly let it begin again to help win the favor of locals, cus it puts good on the farmers table. There's no doubt we allowed the proliferation of poppy over there again, Jesus, we are handing out stacks of money like its candy to anyone and everyone over there. My buddy was a marine comptroller for a base or something over there... Some of the stories are fucking insane. Insane.

Also, I don't believe it is outside the realm of possibility to think the CIA and other agencies of the like traffic drugs.

The CIA works hand in hand with cartels that is a fact laid before us in this article and they have been caught before shuttling large quantities of illegal drugs around the world. I think it was just in 2012 when a plane rented by the CIA crashed with something like 6 tonnes of cocaine bound for Florida.

The US has it's hand in the cookie jar with their occupation of Afg, which I just read today produces 96% of the world opium supply.

I'd suspect unless you are an insider nobody knows or will know the real story.

But a few things I know for fact are; poppy production is at an all time high which coincides with a rise in opiate pill use and addiction.

I'd say those pills are the worst things ever and to be handed out like they are, so many addicts that create so much chaos in the world.

Not surprising, sometimes I think the US might be the biggest cartel of them all. They've spent 12 years in Afghanistan "attempting" to eradicate opium poppy farming, but I just heard on the nightly lies yesterday that opium production is at an all time high and up 50% since last year.

Russia is where it goes...US import is coming from South/Central America and Mex. There are plenty of Russian heroin addicts...and it's logical..being so close to Afghanistan..that the US is taking that market. Of course...who the hell really knows?...but we are not fighting in Afghanistan for no profit...war being a racket and all. Somebody is getting paid. Russia provides a huge market

Well we could be proactive: Don't use heroin or cocaine. Eliminate the market...and that eliminates their profits. Until that happens (lol) nothing will stop governments from being involved in the Narco trades.

So many wars have been fought over this trade...centuries of wars..but it's as strong a market as ever. It's an interesting subject to brush up on.

^^anyone know how it does work? say you had a medical Co and wanted to make an Opium based/derived pain killer, who would you go to? or would you need some medical licence or ? the Opium base has to come from somewhere.

i also believe with thte limited amount of concentrates exploration thats been done in the thc world were gonna see pharm companies get in on the blasted down product except these dispensaries dont have nearly the equipment or staff to do state of the art stuff so that being said we may see poppie disappear one day as the bases in these meds and maybe a new form of mj concentrate as they are both equally classified in the law as narcotics as well

I do not disagree. People should be free to ingest whatever they choose to ingest...for better or for worse. Freedom would be in...having the choice...but..

there is too much illicit money to be made...so I don't see this ever happening (again..for better or for worse) so yeah..

i think they are transporting post raw state man i belive your intuition is correct in the sense that it would seem weird to ship raw poppy around the world
