staying in the closet v. 250.

Just fired up the new 250w. It will handle the flowering duties. New to HID so will be playing around a bit, with and without training.

closet size is 25" x 23"
4" centrifugal pulling thru air cooled hood (desert life)
somehow acquired a variation of square pots, air pots, and even a smart pot
a couple seed from bag and two OHxSk1 freebies. two fem NL still in veg.

no AC in the house, pricing portables for upcoming high temps.

I always grow in the winter, spring and fall. Dealing with the summer temps is a downhill battle on those real hot days. I would rather spend the money keeping me cool not my plants. I dont grow in the summer therefore I MUST MAKE SURE i grow enough to make it through the summer. I have never had a problem not having enough. If you going to get a A/C the mini splits are the way to go. No window needed and there very powerful much more efficient then window units and portables.. I wish I would have got one. I have a Portable 12K BTU unit. It works great but the bill hurts big time.

hey Hammerhead, thanks for the input. I will look into mini splits as im not 100% what they are. the room is less than 200sq ft with closet included and i have been reviewing the 12k btu units. ive got a bit of a grace period.

allright, last bit for the evening, forgot how exciting picture time can be.

picked up the camera, loaded icmag, a fresh bowl happened to catch my eye. end of story.

added the x2 NL to the closet. vegged for a little of 2 wks. bent one of em over in air pot. other is untouched in smart pot.

a few degrees more and we would have been in triple digit temps outside..brutal.. ill shoot for pics tomorrow.

sup all, had to yank 3 males...eesh. its all good tho. both bagbeans and one of the ohxsk. thinking bout reading up on storing males and pollen and so forth. one day.

just a couple shots. about a week ago both NL showed pistils, and 5 bag went into 12/12.

back to these studies

kicking back, dusting off a bowl.

looking for any feedback on some of my thoughts for these 2 NL currently in veg, both about 4 inch tall, 4th node coming thru. in no hurry to flower these off, planned on topping soon (may be a new fan of this brutal attack).

my pondering is with my 1.2g air pots, soon they will xplant to these pots until the bush size is desired. do i consider a larger pot for going into flower? just throwing a number out, but suppose an oz is desired, will the 1.2g pot suffice?

in theory i can always play it safe, i am considering my limited space for larger containers as the 1.2g are 8 and 1/4 inch or so, the half gal milk cartons are barely over 3.5 in. any thoughts welcome, im coming from 32 oz containers from start to finish.

on another note, four confirmed ladies from the bagbean bunch. 1 male chopped and the 2 headed dragon just went into flwr a couple days ago. have some nirvana ppp and swiss cheese en route. peace

i believe she called it bubblegum. just throwin up a few pics. 5 of 6 of the bag beans ended up female. @ 20 days the lanky ladies have been pinched, bent, and slapped around and are going strong.

the nl seems happy @ 37 days, and theres another runt in there from im not even sure.. couple nl in veg along with a couple pure power and a swisscheese.

teetering between more smaller plants and fewer bush types. i will stick with topping or lsting for a while. both styles are quite gratifying after these homemade half gal air pots finish, ill stick with 4-6 smart pots.

had a subtle itch to increase lighting as temps get hotter but i will wait til the fall, uh maybe. the previous flr chamber used a wrkhorse 8, running pll's and is currently running the veg side. ill devise a way to increase the space to maybe 2'x3'or slightly wider adding minimum 4 pll(wattage yet to be determined, but up to 220w) around the sides.

anyway, enough of my random thoughts. heres whats going down.
