Uncle Fish. You are in an area with plenty of sun. Why not utilize it? Electricity is so high here, that sun grown is the only way.
this aint california,i have neighbors is why...i will be adding solar panels to the house soon enough....and theres such a thing as too much sun...
sheesh,i already have a large veggie garden,an extensive native plant xeriscape in the yard, and am about to get a trailer for my bike that will allow me to haul 300 lbs thus eliminating 99.9% of my need for a car which i have already lived without for 10 years ive ridden almost 3000 miles in the last 6 months...have i done enough for the planet yet,can i take a pass on growing outdoors in the 100 degree heat?

Yeah Josey. I remember when I lived in Michigan many years ago. Last time I was there it was 5 below at the Detroit Airport with a wind chill of -26. The summer was great though..... If you like 88 degree heat with 87% humidity. 104 in the Cali Heat is the same as 85 degrees back east without the humidity. ;)

I liked the idea of California splitting from the states and declaring it a separate republic. Build a fence around it to keep all the others out, LOL.

I can see it now. The US Border Patrol quits guarding the Mexican Border and sets up new parameters around California. Little do they know that the coyotes will be setting up runners to smuggle :IN" the growers, ROFLMAO.
