I don't care whats popular as long as its good!
Keeping in mind that many well seasoned smokers struggle to feel much from sativa based strains and have to resort to indica based strains to find any real satisfaction.
Personally, I prefer landrace sativas and their hybrids, but then I've also had some memorable experiences with Kushes. Each to his own and horses for courses!

I disagree most seasoned smokers are looking for that sativa high...chasing that dragon so to speak of old school highs that "used to be"
Chefboy
Then what you're effectively saying is that the Kush craze has resulted from the Kush smokers' ignorance due to their inexperience with good sativas?...I'm not so sure I could agree with that.

and I agree landrace sativas and crosses of it are so much nicer...nicer bouquet and nicer high, and more psychedelic...
BUT are longer flower and YIELD a lot less...and take a lot more love and care to grow then so called " KUSH"...
sativa's take patience and time....
something stoner's have little of...
but you know the saying good things happen to those who wait
peace

my OGs, master, pure kush, and lvpk will never leave the stable. i love my hazes but theres somethong to besaid about all these "kushes". they arent dominating the market and commanding the highest prices for no reason. the hype is real. at least for the OGs i hold, theres nothing that comes close to it...
They command the market and prices BECAUSE of the hype. I work with 30+ patients who I continually blind/no name test strains. High quality gsc, cp, og fire finish well below the top of the pack when names are withheld, hands down. This has been repeated by nearly every grower in our Co op which puts our testing pool into the hundreds. Not saying they aren't quality, just saying they're middle of the pack when compared to A+ genetics in general.

You're a trip...and you do like to make threads that kind of sort of bash on the modern lines...sometimes aggressively...sometimes passive aggressively
If I had a time machine...I'd most definitely blip you back to the 1970's or 80's where you seem to want to be. But you know dude?...I came up smoking through the late 70's into the 80's...into 90's into 00's...to present...and none of that shit is better than what is now.
I hope you make your own stuff...and stop wasting your time worrying about crazes...or how something isn't kush...
the lack of patience stoner part is just typical passive aggressive...but I guess if you grow long flowers..you are proving something? That makes you a real grower? please
thats a pretty bold statement. I mean cmon how do we know the quality of medicine u have. most folks think they have the dank but they just have never seen it, not saying thats you, but thats what your post made me think of
sure a group of folks might not like fire og, gsc, or what ev, especially if its not grown well...
my point is its all about the grower as much as the genetic..so to say something is hype, well show us your heady organic nug shots and theeennnnn say its hype.
