Its not practical to own a snowblower in Mexico.... We live in Michigan, its plenty practical. You could hire someone to operate it and walk around clearing people's sidewalks and driveways during times like these... The snowblower would pay for itself in no time, and make some money for you and some dude with more ambition than you who's gonna operate the damn thing...

I guess lining all that up is quite a bit of work though.... :)

But on the serious, part of my problem is that I'm able-bodied to actually do the damned labor, and so therefore have a hard time justifying the expense.. But I dislike it just enough to bitch about it. :joint:

(Though that threshold itself is pretty damned low.)

I'm soooo cheap. Unless I lived somewhere like Alaska, which would be pretty awesome, I wouldn't own one. I am a gear head though. I trade down for things like hotels, toothbrush, toiletries, underwear, jeans...you name it..but I trade up for nice meals out, backpacking gear, winter jackets, shoes, cannabis gear. Lets just say, I might wear Walmart 12dollar jeans with a pair of $300 asolo full grain leather boots, Costco button down and 400buck maui Jim sunglasses. I'm a weird bird

Don't mean to high jack thread but I processed our backyard chickens Sunday and put em on the green egg. I hunt and have killed turkeys, deer, etc but never killed anything with my own hands. They quit laying so we ate em! Buying a new flock in march.

Agh! You murderous bastard! Just kidding. That's the one part I'd have a tough time with, for sure. How long did you raise 'em for?

And when I hear "processed," I think gory shit, but in your case, does "processed" start with "killed the motherfucker dead?"

Also, you're clearly a man of distinguished tastes in some areas, and apparently your cooking vessels are one of them. :good:

So f*cking sick of shoveling.
And too practical (read: cheap) to buy a snowblower.

Both mine are broken (again) sad too cause I have the technology
to fix them, maybe if it wasn't like - 40 outside I'd have more
ambition to get on that... used my backpack leaf blower last time,
 worked pretty well too !

Sexy pic !

Dude, you've confirmed my worst fear. I have this underlying fear that I'll be one of those guys with an eternally (or perpetually) broken snowblower. Why me? Because I couldn't fix my way out of a wet paper bag, much less actually do something with the roto-girder reticulator or whatever.

I'd be that asshole that drops off his snowblower for service and doesn't get it back 'til February.

We have had them for three years. They quit laying so time to eat. Plus, they eat 30bucks worth of organic feed every month. You better give me eggs if you gonna eat steak every night.

We cut throats, let em bleed, dunked em in hot water, pulled feathers and then gutted em. We would totally get along in person. We could swap gardening tips (veggies) and effiecnt lazy tips on snow removal:huggg:

Alllllllllllll riiiigggght, .. :coffee: The good lord has dumped plenty of powdered sugar on us. Pretty sure he meant for it to land on his french toast, but it landed here instead. Oops.

Gotta go complete the first shoveling installment, probably 3 or 4" at this point. We're scheduled for an all-day ass fuckin' with this snow.

Santa came yesterday! Brought me a refractometer. :D Once I get the ambition to play around, we'll have some brix readings..

Amen! Winters taking no prisoners this year.

And that budshot is sssexy! Seems to me you do that ND right.

Seems my kudos generator is outta gas. +2!

Thanks wg! :tiphat: Ain't no joke about this winter: See above!

Aaaaaand, this is where I'd have to politely bow out and go back into the house and have [several] beers.

Nothing even bleeding-heart about it for me - I'm just a huge pansy and would prefer to not have anything to do with the production of the very food I eat (when it bleeds).

:)

On a side note, me and the old lady have recently discovered Orange is the New Black.

Really digging the show, still waiting to see Donna's boobs.

BEWBSFTW!

Neighbor kid (10? 11?) saw that I was shoveling and came and asked if he could help.

Me: *kind of like "WTF offers to shovel"* "Sure man, that's awesome!"

And then he said, quickly: "But I can keep all the snow right?"

..and then he was quiet and looked around for a minute, and then he said, "Man, you guys have a loooonnng driveway.."

Hey AS! :tiphat: Good to see you in here. :)

On days like today, where it's abundantly clear we'll be going nowhere, it's not a matter of if I'll have some beers, but when I'll start.

Your camera skill`z have really come along ways Mister !
If'n you don't mind me asking what's the "new software"
all about, is it all just crop and chop or is there more to it ?

What ever it is... :bigeye: it's work'n !

On a side note: My Nightmares are start'n too do their thing,
they look to be about 4 or 5 days behind the WSD`s. Tho it's
pretty early in the game, I can see`em going the whole 80 days.

Rock on,
Sprout.

Thanks all for the kudos y'all! :tiphat:

Cali, watcha mean abt the GSC? I have to say, if this is what she's all about, she can stay outta my garden! I've got another one I'll run just to give it a fair shake, but if the yield stays on pace with the growth, she'd have to make me jizz in my pants with every puff to be considered for the long-term..

What's your DBM? I'm confused  My fault, not yours :)

:thank you: I used to use whatever's the latest version of GIMP to do my cleanup. Now I'm using Aperture, which has its + and -.. The auto WB feature in GIMP is much stronger/more effective, I find. With Aperture, the Auto WB alone raaaarely gets the image to look "true."

The Vignette feature is super simple in Aperture - in GIMP, you'd have to create an additional layer (and then adjust that layer's shape/size/opacity), .. As best I knew to use it, anyway. The Vignette alone really adds some sexy to the photo, when done right..

There are really some benefits and drawbacks between both programs. The last straw for me with GIMP was that the f'ing program would crash every time I'd try to import more than one image.

Aperture seems much much more user-friendly.

I've noticed (shouldn't require too much brainpower to get, a la DUH) that I'm able to get much much better photos if I drag out the tripod and remote shutter gimmick. Those photos from last night were all shot in pitch dark, on about F11 -- the wide shots were F22!

Exposure times of 8-30 seconds FTW!

On a side note: My Nightmares are start'n too do their thing,

Can't wait to see how you jam it out! It's funny - they take off as quick as anything, but they seem to stay in that four-weeks-flower-size 'til week 7, and then they pick up where other plants look at 4-5 weeks.. :)

(Did that make any sense?)
