How neat, I can only imagine what kind of smoke came from the hidden valley? I only started smoking a decade ago

To tell you the truth this was sitiva plants from the best marijuana he could fine. Compared with today's buds it would make better compost. It was some the best to be found back in 1972.

It was about this time that my old grow buddy started buying seeds from Amsterdam. It was then that he embarked on his breeding program and that's where Eminem and MTV came from.

Obviously I've been smoking longer. I quit for about a decade when I was a fireman and my daughters were going through the tweens and teens. Then I got diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondilitis and this caused me some serious back pain. It turned out smoking a joint would help me fall back to sleep.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

I've only got one Mildred teenager growing. I haven't smoke this so I have no idea on the quality. I got this from my 80's grow friend and I really like the why the plant looked. It was nice and symmetrical with lots of buds.

I'm taking 3 cuttings off it today because Mildred is going to be turned into a lady either Saturday or Sunday. Until I get an organic grow to judge the quality I can't drop her. If the quality isn't there then she is gone.

I actually do more than grow herb and vegetables. Today I stayed home from work at the request of my wife. I have a honey-do list of baking and food preparations to do.,

Baking:

Lemon nut bars
Peanut butter cookies
Cheesecake

Food preparation

Macaroni and cheese (the grandkids love it the way I make it)
Scalloped potatoes
Green bean casserole (I make this tomorrow)

About 7 grandkids will show up tomorrow and most have to drag their parents along because they can't drive. They don't want to miss out on the bounty that is found around Pakalolo's Christmas tree.

I'll be around today and tomorrow but in case I miss anyone have a merry Christmas. I hope you have as much fun as I will tomorrow. Those grandkids still get excited for all the presents.

I got all the baking done so I thought I would show you some of my teenagers. I've already shown you Mildred, Trainwreck 2 and Chemdawg.

Here's my OG Kush.

When my old grow buddy gifted these to me both were labeled Trainwreck. You may not be able to see but the leaf shape is different between the two plants. So I put a 1 and a 2 behind the name so I could tell me apart once they were cured.

Changing my soil mix

Changing my soil mix

With the new year coming I'm thinking about switching up my soil mix. Because I'm using peat moss (no aeration) then I'm going with these percentages per volume.

Peat moss 50%

EWC/compost 20%

Aeration 30%

I'm also changing up my amendments. I'm going to drop organic fertilizer and azomite. I'm also going to tweak the measurements some. This is for 1 cubic foot of base soil mix.

1/2 cup neem seed meal

1 cup of kelp meal

1 cup of alfalfa meal

1/2 cup of crab meal

1/2 cup of fish bone meal

1 cup of oyster shell flour

5 cups of rock dust

What are the thoughts out there?

I'm going to mix this up over the weekend and let it sit for about 6 weeks. Then I'll fill up one of my 10 gallon pots and transplant a teenager into it.

That mix looks good to me. I've also used Timothy for a mulch before. It worked well enough until my comfrey plant became established and I started chopping up leaves for mulch. And that Timothy does smell nice for a while. Good luck and Merry Christmas

Thanks for the feedback. My current thinking is I'm going with this mix and make 15 gallons. Then I'm going to plant one of the teenagers in it and compare to my first and only soil mix the ladies are in now.

I'm thinking of reducing the kelp and alfalfa down to 1/2 cup each and throw in some gypsum. Make up another 15 gallon mix and transplant another teenager into it and see how that goes. Then I'll have 3 soil mixes to compare.

I've got my worm bin going and I've got my outside compost pile going. So this summer I should have plenty of both and can then used my own EWC/compost and have a good idea what amendments and proportions I need to use. It may be that my EWC/compost will be so much better that I'll have to make tweaks. I'm done mixing up large batches now. I'm going into experimental mode.

Merry Christmas back at you Swayze.

I would keep the kelp at 1 Cup and I'd think you could drop the alfalfa down to 1/2 Cup without any noticeable difference. Save the other 1/2 Cup for teas or a topdressing if the need arises. I recently purchased some gypsum to add to my mixes as well. Can't beat the price and I'd rather have sulfur in the mix than have to water in Sul-Po-Mag.

Thanks moutaingrown, I'm in LITFA mode right now so things are moving at the growth speed of my girls. I'll be posting weekly updates on the weekend. The plants are looking good though.

I hope that those of you who follow my journals had a great Christmas. Mine was very good. My wife got me a new blender for chopping up those accumulator plants and making FPE's. She doesn't smoke but she supports my hobby. How cool is that?

Some of you may know that I'm going totally organic on my vegetable gardening too. So I've been posting pictures on Facebook showing my garden area and compost piles. So my oldest step-son bought me a Hydrofarm germination station for starting my vegetable seeds. I thought about buying one but wasn't convinced that it would make that much of a difference. I don't germinate many marijuana seeds but I'm definitely going to use it for my vegetables in the spring.

It was a wonderful Christmas with the family and the grandkids. The biggest hit was the cotton candy machine my wife bought for 2 of the grandkids. The parents were a little hesitant about it but I told them it could have been a drum set.

Sounds nice. We used to have shaved ice by Waikiki whe. We were kids. A few holidays ago (more than 5) my cousin got a shaved ice machine. I believe It's more useful as garage decor than reliving past memories these days

That shaved ice was the best though. Even sailed there

I just got done checking on my Eminem clones. I took the cuttings on December 9 so in seventeen days I've got 3 out of the 4 cuttings showing roots. I transplanted one the other day and I'll transplant the 2 tomorrow.

If Eminem does turn out to be male I will be collecting pollen and breeding him to Trainwreck 2. Beyond that I haven't thought much about it. I have Pitbull (indica), Mildred (?), Chemdawg (indica?), OG Kush (indica). So I'm not sure what I'm going to do next.

I've got 3 Eminem clones into 1 gallon pots. I'm planning on taking 1 of them and putting it under the 12/12 regiment and seeing if it is or is not male. The other two I'm going to let grow and probably flower them to get the pollen.

In the last 5 days my plants have gone from showing no bud to showing lots of bud sites.

This one is Pineapple Express and she has just finished 2 weeks into the flowering stage. This is loaded with bud sites and one plant I LST'ed. I'm not going to LST anymore. I did it because I was thinking about how the bottled nutrient plants grow. This organic grow is more than I imagined.
