Dr. Purpur - I have always leaned away from using the silver. I find that the percentage of hermi's jumps up, compared to a true f2 seed crop. However the silver produces a more uniform offspring, due to the lack of male/female counterpart.

Do you notice this as well? When and why do you like using the silver? Thanks for your time, if off topic just PM me please.

It is a very subjective conversation and it depends entirely on the genetic makeup of a plant. What making an S1 can tell you, is how true breeding to a given phenotype a singular female is - ie how much variation exists within itself...

Then that would also depend on how a male expresses itself in the offspring as well - some males are not very dominant in their expressions and allow for the females to shine through, so it doesn't much matter that you've added anything additional to the mix - not in the F1 generation anyway...that would of course change within the F2.

However, being able to identify the traits that surface within a female when selfed, is useful when looking into a m x f cross, simply because when you start seeing plants / traits that DID NOT surface in the S1, you can now attribute those traits the male, with 100% confidence, and this helps when saying - oh that plant looks more like this that or the other - or attempting to make statements saying a plant is 60% this and 40% that...

Selfing is a great tool for learning about the genetic possibilities contained in a female. It only gives rise to hermaphroditic tendencies if at some point in the plants genetic history, there was a plant that was introduced into the program that also possessed such a tendency. And then, it is not caused by the S1 process itself, as much as it was caused by the re-surfacing of a latent gene that already existed somewhere in the plant. That is to say - that when breed to a male, at some point, if not in the F1, then certainly in the F2, you are going to see similar rise of hermaphroditic tendencies... Just my take from study and personal experiences...

I don't understand why people keep throwing out the exclusiveness comment - that is the biggest misrepresentation...

This cut has been being spread like wild fire to so many folks - It was coast to coast within two weeks of the first puff - that is the TRUTH.

I really wish people would stop saying anything to the contrary - just because YOU don't have it - doesn't mean it's being hoarded or kept exclusive, etc...choose your words more carefully. Throwing around such accusations will only get you on the no fly list for sure.

And truly - this cut isn't being hyped up AT ALL. Folks are sharing their impressions of it - their opinion on it - and it just so happens, that everyone fuggin' loves it. When there is nothing bad to say about a cut, that equates to hype??? Not hardly. That just means, that what is being said is ACCURATE.

She lives up to EVERY nice thing anyone has said about her - and THEN some, actually...

Nice try fellas but when you see a greasy lady like this that yields well and is very photogenic don't think there is anything to hype. Her pics speak a 1000 words to me anyways.

Plus it's not like these dude are trying to cash in and sell the cuts for tons of dough like (cough cough cookie fam) they are passing it freely paying it forward. In fact they don't want any of it leaking to slimey despensary owners so they can cash in on it. I applaud them for how they have passed it. This way she never gets lost is cherished by the community my hats off to you guys and everyone spreading it.

Still waiting on my cut it can't get here fast enough but I was told Santa will be coming early this year! I can't wait no longer lol but truly I can being that it's being gifted I can wait I'm in no rush.

I really wanna see a peyote purple x gorilla glue in S1 just because I think the purple coloring if it translate to the offspring would be kinda sweet. I would also think you wouldn't lose with that cross maybe a little in the yield department but the frost level would still be off the charts. You can also call it gorillaS on peyote! Lol

they look spindly but they fill in nicely,as long as you trim the lower branches they generally dont produce much larf,it doesnt make a particularly large bud,never gotten over 16 gms in one bud yet..the buds arent super dense like cookies,but they are nicely dense,the branches are always flopping over with the weight of the buds by the end....super easy buds to trim,like i said,a well managed plant there will be next to no larf,even the smallest buds will be worth trimming,mainly because it takes seconds,and even the small stuff is super dank...
someone with a well built system who had the strain dialed in could easily do 2+ per light,im not that great a grower and i can pull 1 1/2 with it no problem...

I wanted to address this sooner but I haven't had an account for a while (been here since overgrow). This is a very large thread so it may already have been discussed but I didn't come across that discussion during my reading. The GG#4 I have going is VERY branchy/lanky/etc. and it's looking very questionable that the yield will be too impressive.

On that same note, I take responsibility for that happening until I've run it a few times and can confirm that this is an aspect of the genetics I'm not able to overcome. I've had some trouble adjusting to how she grows. That being said, I can't think of anything that I've ever grown that was frostier. It's pretty unreal next to some average genetics.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else that's grown her has had any trouble adjusting in veg (think trees, not sog)? She's been thin, stretchy/lanky and only wants to grow outwards. All my other genetics, when properly topped/tied, fill in evenly and I don't really need to weave them through a trellis (though there is some tucking) because the canopy is already pretty flat.

The trellis is mostly in place for support. Although I'll admit that's only in ideal situations. I've spent plenty of time weaving and laying down a big out-of-control bush. Shit happens and I'm far from perfect. But right now, I'm really not seeing 1.5-2# per light being realistic. But I also can't wait to find out for sure myself because 2#/1k of this shit would make my head spin.

Also, a BIG thanks to everyone who's been generous enough to share. It's pretty amusing actually because people around here don't even want this cut! I only have one buddy who's saying "hell yeah"... everyone else wants nothing to do with it. They're comfortable growing what they grow and I think the GG#4 just looks like a bitch to grow to them. The one guy that took a cut threw it out after two weeks!!! Although everyone agrees that it's incredibly frosty no one seems to have any interest.
