Hey D9 or any other grow guru on here... question on Jack's. I just got my Jack's hydro and calc-nit powders. What ratios should I be using of each in veg and flower? I think D9 said something like EC 1.0 in flower and 1.2 in veg, but I'm not sure how much of each during each phase. I know in flower you need less N so less calc-nit, but not sure what overall ratios I should be aiming for in each phase.

Also, do any of you run a bloom booster? Jack's makes one and I'm curious whether or not you think it's worth giving a go. I'm not going to be able to run CO2 so maybe this will be something worth doing to help things out a bit.

Thanks ahead of time everyone.

3:2

1.5 EC = 450 PPM Jacks + 300 PPM Calcnit
1.2 EC = 360 PPM Jacks + 240 PPM Calcnit.
1.0 EC = 300 ppm jacks + 200 PPM Calcnit

Flat 9 It depends on your environment and strain. I have some rooms that eat more than the other because of temp.. the lighting and genetics are the same..

They are gonna eat more in the first part of flowering while they have their hormonal growth spurt..so you might want to increase your feed then.

I would watch for yellowing leaves, to indicate that you might want to boost the feed, or the "claw" when leaves curl down at the tips, which means you might have too much food..

Thanks High Life and Dabs. High Life -- I thought clawing meant nitrogen toxicity typically (not necessarily too high EC, but definitely too high N). Am I wrong?

Also, I got my cycle timer today, and it's pretty awesome. For 30 bucks it can't be beat. Works exactly how you'd expect: red light for on, digital countdown during on cycle, green light for off, digital countdown during off cycle. Can see both times on the screen at any given moment.

Flat9, make sure you report back on that timer if you have problems with it in the future. All too often someone posts "hey check it out it's great" then when the thing fails we never hear and the only record of quality is the positive posting. Looks good (digital is a great feature) and I hope you are happy with it long term because we all need more choices/better quality of cycle timers. Thanks.

Hey d9, any chance of separating coco and turface after a grow? Hoping the fibers float while some dust sinks that can be screened out when dry. Thanks, wanted your opinion before I mix em

Wow I thought this site died, I hadn't checked it in weeks until today. I have a lot of info to go over covering my ppk experiences including an extremely successful harvest :D but I don't have time to do it tonight. Shout out to D9!!!

I did want to pass on one quick thing. I found the perfect fitting for the new 3 inch tail piece. It's at home depot and called a Carlon 3 in. Non-Metallic End Bell Model # E997L-CAR . It has an extra ring that needs to be sanded off but otherwise it's perfect just like the 1 1/2" plumbing tailpiece in effect. I wanted to post a link but since my move to Washington my inet is shit and I can't get on their site. I'll be back to post my experiences asap.

EDIT: I finally got the page to load, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Carlon-3-in-Non-Metallic-End-Bell-E997L-CAR/100158275

my sentinel has been working flawlessly for 16 mos now. precision instrument compared to the analog ones i have.

that tub may not be large enough for 10 plants. you will need an 8" water level for the proper air gap.

it can be done but why mix turface and coco to start with?

this is the same plant, a "dope" plant from drgtb.

it is being grown lit from three sides so it looks like this from any angle.

the screen is 3.5' in diameter and 6' high.

this is 5 weeks flower.

flat9 im only using lowes and HD sourced items for my build for the most part. no hydro store stuff at all. standard garden hose and electrical water tight fittings sealed with a ton of silicone.

forkup, heres a fun fact.....bell end is slang for penis head with the british youth lol thanks for the laugh. i saw that tag at HD and i had a good laugh there as well :)

my first ppk harvest comes down in 7-10 days. thanks to all you guys who helped me out in here.

d9 that plant looks superb. good work as usual

I had some hydro store stuff leftover so I'm going with it + hose clamps to make sure it can handle the 400 gph I'm going to throw at it!
