Thanks gentlemen I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out, I'm glad to have a real veg space back though although that closet isn't what it used to be, I just went in to check the heat and I've a few light leaks, nothing to cry over though.
So I have 2 Mullum dominant plants and two EP dom plants, at least from my tired eyes and this EP type shorty is packing on flowers fast. The other two later type plants are in full flower now, the big tall one had giant, bright white pistils.The smells coming from these EP types are fantastic. I bet they'll be better in a jar...

Slip...Everything looking kosher as usual buddy! That SFV looks like a killer. How does it smell? Mullum looks green and waxy. Love those leaves.

The SFV smells great, the smell is very close to the Lucifer clones I run, about a mix between both. The Lucifer has a bit more earthy, dirty smell and the SFV fresh and clean but it still has some of the meaty type smells of the sour d and chem d.
These shorter EP/Mullums stopped stretching within 10 days of 12/12. This one I can't seem to grab a decent shot of but it's just one fat spear with copious amounts of resin pushing out the leaves. You can't see that in this shot but the structure is great, I wish I had 30 of the same in one room.

Looks like El Nino / La Nina to me .
I found them a lot more stoney than say Mango Hz or NVL`s Hz . Nice , but they didn`t get a 2nd run .

Those hybrids definitely favor the widow. I am not much of a widow fan myself. Maybe it used to be different? Current stuff not my cup of tea.

Sorry to hear of your herm problems. Did any of you down there have the MM Super 5 line or were they all different hybrids? I can't imagine the monsters I grew herming on me. They were way more than "vigorous."

EB my friend, I appreciate what you are trying to tell me about Mullum.
I had some great conversations with Kanga on what I was growing (while he was here) and after growing them well (despite the challenges of my space) I can see why people think she can be a bitch, but nothing I couldn't handle.

Your comments on sexual maturity vs photoperiod flowering issues could of course be relevant in somebody's garden, but not mine. Not with that grow.
I grew the plants for almost a month after they showed sex, chopped them in HALF, let them recover, then flipped.
All the rest of the plants in the room (oHaze hybrids, C5 hybrid from our friends, and the Nev21 eMM) all flipped like clockwork. The mullum super 5 resisted. Took the males and the female rooms down to 11:30 and the MMs5's flipped decisively.

You can of course suggest that the light intensity had something to do with it. People who think you can't flower plants under T5s frequently suggest such things to me.
I can assure you that is not the case in my garden, which I have dialed in and made the most of.
After all, I produced more than a pound of trimmed bud from single oHaze plant in a 3.5 gallon bucket under 8 T5 tubes just to prove a point.
Pulling > 1 gram per watt of light from a line most people think is hard to grow indoors at all would make it clear that I know how to use what I have to make the plants happy.

Kanga and I discussed both parent plants of the MMs5 at length. We also discussed the Early Mullum.
He described my flower pics as looking just like the momma. The characteristic blue color, etc.
He told me my smoke reports were spot on to tastes and effects for the 2 lines, saying he almost cried (with joy) when he read them

Did you ever get the MM Super 5 line?
How about the Nev21 x Early Mullum?

I have heard of reports from others getting Super5 dom plants from the MMs5 cross. Not my experience at all. The MMs5 plants I selected were clearly Mullum dom.

I know a lot of hybrids were made with the mullum parent plants.
Have you worked with anything from that season Kanga worked with nev, or has it all been later work?
Would love to see what you've done with same crosses I have.

Regarding the EP line we are working with.
I was told the line originally came from NorCal. Nobody can trace this girl to a seedbank, or Nev for that matter.
I did go back to MNS and look for Nev's quotes on his auto work and found you correct. He said it took him 20 years to get a plant from the line that would auto flower.
I am not to worried about the cut we are working with displaying the trait ;-)
I have smoked the her and think we have a combination that will really fizz. A "nick" as Nev described it.

I guess we will know soon enough

when are we gonna see some of those thai genetics you recently collected grown out for us? I am always riveted by those grows as I try to re-live the memories of the Thai I smoked and grew in 81.
Your recent trip sounds like a dream come true for most people in this thread.

Well we now have several Mullum "experts" in this thread, of which I am not one.
The fact that you two disagree with each other on things does not surprise me.

I am simply an "expert" in the plant being grown in this thread because it is a collaboration between me and Slip. I provided the male and smoked both parents.
I know the knowable parts of the female's history from sources at multiple levels.
I know what K and I discussed and you guys don't.

I know you consider this Slip's work, since you are apologizing to him for the posts but not me. He gives me full credit for my part and the results of all our work together have been and continue to be excellent.

I am sure you both believe what you are saying, and there is plenty of ego at work here (including mine, which I am not enjoying in the least.) These posts are taking a decidedly personal tone now, so I will just add this final thought for myself:

Hey Skip , if I offended you in any way I apologise unreservedly mate. Lets just say that I get a bit protective of Mr Ks genes - strains for obvious reasons and he always stressed to me that Mullum in its pure state is NOT an indoor plant. In fact the K man was a bit pissed off with me for giving people the impression that his genes are even meant to be done indoors .

I will be honest and admit I just got a bit shitty with the blithe "looks like Widow "comments from you and Elmer . I have seen the real Mullum Widow and smoked it and it is MUCH more resinous than the plant I showed earlier and has much thinner branches and a lighter colour to the leaves.

Good luck with the growing mate , I wont make any more comments .

I hated saying that about the widow, because I don't like widow and so I knew I considered it a negative. I hoped you wouldn't take it negatively (Hell, people breed with it so who am I to say?) but considering the context, I guess saying anything except that it looked like mullum would be negative. :-(

When you think about it, its kind of funny.
All 3 of us are saying "thats not mullum" and yet we all are comparing outcrosses to outcrosses.

There are still plenty of MM pics up here. I have saved lots of his and bushweed's pics. We all should have learned a lesson about using web sites to save our reference material :-(

Still, my plants are F1s, and no matter the expression, they are not pure MMb. I know that. Everybody knows that. That's why I call it MMs5 in almost every post. What I DO have is amazing though, and quite different that the S5 dom phenos that others have reported seeing in the line.

I think all of us share the loyalty to Mr K, and want to honor his wishes and elevate what we still have of his work.

I don't want to go into any details about my discussions with him in this thread BB, but when you get some more posts under your belt (25 I think) shoot me a PM.

I feel lucky to have gotten the genetics I did.

I am thrilled that Slip was able to find what I think is the perfect mother to cross with the old MMb x S5. And to the quiet man who shared it . . . thanks Brother

Dont mean to rain on your and Elmers parade mate but I have smoked and grown a lot more plants out of the Mullum line than you blokes . I was one of our hopping mate's smoke testers .

Can you show us some pix of the ones you grew ?

I have sampled a few Mango Haze these days . I agree I couldn`t make it work .
I`m about to try again along with some NVL`s Hz .
The other samples I`ve tried, have shown me. Done properly its excellent herb .With a euphoric high . I haven`t grown NVL`s Hz before. I never said I have.
I have smoked it several times from several sources though . So I do know its effects .
I said El Nino / La Nina that I grew had a stoney effect compared to Mango Hz and NVL`s Hz .

Yes I have seen plenty of Mullum crosses with no Hz /Sk /NL . La Nina / El Nino for eg ? Or the many I watched Kanga grow .

And can you show me where I said it looked like Widow ?? Blithe ! ? I gave my honest opinion . When I said it looks like El Nino / La Nina .

This old timer I know makes cookies and all kinds of old lady church sale type stuff with my trim and he always brings me a bunch but I never eat it. I've never been much of a brownie eater but anyway I tried a few yesterday, a bit crunchy for sure but edible then I ended up eating quite a few and now I can't sleep I'm so stoned. I could have a smoke right now no problem but the backs of my eyes were flashing so I got up and checked the heaters in the shop etc...I could see myself eating much more cannabis as this wasn't the nightmare I've experienced in the past. Damn I have enough trim but I don't need to get much fatter.
I started in on running again in the sand to see if I could shed some weight and strengthen my legs a bit for skiing. I find if I smoke a joint then start running I make it 5 miles and start walking circles. Yesterday was too cold, 22 deg with 40 knt gale, it's almost impossible. I know my wife hides my gloves and hats etc so that I get confused, all I hear is "You must have been high when you hid that" etc Well, as people continue to drop all around me over health issues, all non smokers, I can still run 5 miles without dropping so who's laughing now Uncle Tony? He had just had his heart put in a bowl of ice. Too bad he's been such a douche since I've known him, all the times at the Thanksgiving table opening his big mouth about how I'm going to lose my house from growing "pot" in the backyard, nice, discreet guy. The 4 sisters talk too much but I have 3 big, FAT, brother in laws not one worth talking to. Uncle Tony looks 120 yrs old now and lives in a space suit like John Travolta in "Boy in a Plastic Bubble". I shouldn't be laughing but, I can't help it.
Man my mouth is dry!!
