How can these be Chemdawg 91?

Everything costs more at an event. You buy a tshirt at a concert they want like 30 bucks, same shirt you could buy somewhere else the next day for 20. How about $10 bottles of water, suddenly $500 zips doesnt sound that far off base.

In 90's I was getting 4bills plus a z for outdoor at msg dead shows back in the day. No doubt indoor would get or go for much higher. Especially hi quality buds. People will always pay for quality, especially connoisseur's.

Anyways isn't skunk va on IC, I forgot his screen name, think its oledog or something along those lines. He could set the record straight for sure.

I believe the Dead show was in Indiana but the weed was from Colorado, at least I think I remember that. I might be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time today, lol.

Yes you would think inflation would cause the price to go up from then, but we are talking about a black market product. 1991 was also around the time the cold war ended, Big Bush was in office and heading the war on drugs with a fierceness that made Reagan and Nixon look like puppies. When the risk goes up, so does the price. The risk today is not as high as it was back then. We have 18 states that have medical laws in place and 2 states that just fully legalized. More people are growing out stuff, so supply is up but the demand has pretty much stayed the same. The price is only going to go down from here as more and more people start growing. The market will then adjust itself according to quality and name brand once sales outlets get in place. Just like wine...you got your cheapo box wine and you have your Moet Chandans and Don Perignons...you have brick weed(kinda looks a box) and you have your super awesome OGs, Chems, Diesels and Hazes. :joint:

Now I am far from expert, please bear with me. But if I buy a 10 pack of seeds from a breeder he gives me 15 seeds. I grow ssid seeds out they will be called what that said breeder named them. They will be just like said parents of breed. Nothing more nothing less, am I right?
how is it that when Chemdog does it now all of a sudden 13 seeds from such said plant become so different they get their own name. Out of every bag of seeds I bought how can one person and I am saying that it could happen, but one person find phenomenal find after phenomenal find from aset of beans.
that as of now been yet to duplicate. Even with fem seeds I cannot get 4 or 5 keepers from a 15 package of seeds. Please tell me how? It's like a freak of nature like a man with a 16" go all night controlled package between his legs with a charming personality to go with it. I know I will get flack from this because it bust some bubbles but wow!

I guess it all depends on the quality and stability of the genetics. Seeds do not guarantee an exact parental replica.

Might just be a way of keeping track of the plants. I do it all the time. When you find a winner, the name it happens to have just sticks. Think, for example, DJ Short and "F13"

The term "keeper" to me is subjective. What you like and what I like could be two, extremely, different things. What motivates you and I might not be so appealing to others in it for other reasons. A.K.A: YOU might not think they are keepers, but, someone ELSE might, for a totally different set of reasons. What do you define as a keeper? Do the strains you are buying justify looking for it in their packs? Or is there another motivating factor in the purchase?

Side Note:
I was actually alive and kicking in 1986, unlike some of you posting about it. I grew up in the shadow of NYC. Ive done the "I need a miracle" circuit a few times over trading grilled cheeses for tickets.
It was RARE to see a zip go for $500. NYC or Greenbow Alabama.
Not unheard of, but, very, very rare. Even for the toppest of top shelf.

Again, just offering an opinion, and a point of view, because, that, in itself, relates to this topic, and how everyone seems to perceive this magical event of chemdog being sprouted in different ways.
Hell, I bet those actually involved have the truth wrong in some form....
I know that ME saying that I haven't seen $500/zps in 1986 doesn't mean someone else HASN'T been bent over like that in '86.
It just wasn't all that common. From MY experiences. Mileage, of course, varies.

My $.02 (adjusted for inflation)
