The SNOWDEN Saga continues...

Yes, before his untimely violent death, Michael Hastings was working on a story about government spying.

http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/search?q=michael+hastings

An interesting thing about the Snowden saga; whenever an article about him is posted in a left leaning news site, a whole bunch of sock puppets come out of the woodwork to flame the guy.

With the passage of the Smith Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 as part of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act which went into effect last July, the Pentagon is now free to legally propagandize the American populace. :chin:

That assassinated journalist was trying to break a Snowden related story.

Now his Mercedes blew up into a million pieces as he drove 30 or so mph. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

you couldn't possibly expect anyone to take you seriously now could you???

do some research on that one S4L, there is quite a bit of circumstantial evidence that points to his car having been manipulated in some way, possibly even to achieve remote control. that car was made so it wouldn't catch fire. not saying anything either way yet, but it was certainly convenient timing for the gov. i don't remember all the details now, but i remember while browsing various news sites about this thinking it was all a bit strange. we do drone strikes sometimes, that would possibly end up looking similar. so yeah depending how hot his information was, assassination is not beyond the bounds of possibility, not when you look at history. just saying, time will tell and it won't surprise me at all if it tells us his car was remotely accelerated at the exact wrong moment and bam. but i could be completely wrong about this, just a hunch.

you know I might buy into some cloak n' dagger kinda conspiracy stuff if Hasting's were taken out @ home, no witnesses, pro hit, apparent burglary police report etc. but I'm not buying into any of the above speculation. Too over the top, too many people needing to be in the know, entirely too much risk to the public and even to police officers on the ground nearby.

BTW, not to get too far off topic, but he's a she, man.

Back at the ranch, I was a little dumbfounded about that CIA director yesterday defending that tapping by saying the tapping of leader's is justified because the other countries do the same thing, so we are just doing what other countries do. First of all, BULLSHIT. Obummer's Blackberry is special and is the most secure Blackberry in the world. Secondly, what kind of logic is that? I always thought America led the way by having and displaying a higher moral standard. That Gitmo shit amazed me. It's the same thing here. Just switched around a little. The issue is not some stupid lawyer mumbo-jumbo about "not on American soil". The issue was that we Americans don't torture. Period. We have a higher standard. That logic seems to be the same that CIA chief is using, just switched up.

So he didn't have to bullshit. What is so wrong with saying, "We fucked-up, we can do better". Instead we hear just platitudes and excuses.

It's just a mess. The more fuck-ups that are brought to light, the more I understand why Snowden did what he did. He is actually more patriotic than most of those lying bastards.

What specifically do you object to? All spying by our government, or against certain allies, or what? What is your criteria?

S4L, i would not be so quick to discredit the hasting situation... although some posters here got their stories jumbled up a bit, if you seriously read into the michael hastings story you may be awakened to some fucked up shit...

the drive train of the brand new wifi equipped mercedes c-250 hastings was driving was found many feet hundreds of feet away from the rest of the vehicle as it engulfed into flames.......

and mercedes has not gotten any inquiries into this matter? if those vehicles suffered that much damage would they get approval to be one of the safest cars known to man?

this situation is like god..... there is no way you are ever going to disprove it OR prove it..... i am guessing that since OnStar can disable a vehicle then perhaps the NSA can do the same if not more things then onstar....

it was all about damage control and although the us intelligence community could not stop the leaks, they were sure able to stop any speculation that they were behind the hastings killing....

this story will eventually get momentum once the hastings family is done grieving and ready to get real

in fact i heard hastings' wife was working on a followup story about her husband that will may add a little more momentum to the ordeal...

but like i said earlier, just because it is a godlike situation there will never be much hard evidence to prove this unless an intelligence member breaks down and figures out a way to come clean to the media about this situation...

the nsa is BIG on keeping the media out of their realm these days in case you didnt know.......

You must be a pedestrian who has never held a drivers license. Does that photo look like any single car 30mph crash you've ever seen?

If that car wasn't booby trapped then I'll give up cannabis!

Too much risk to the public????? Since when does the SEE EYE AY give two shits about the public? Also these clowns offed him at 3:30am or so, not much public around. Additionally the SEE EYE AY exploded his car with him in it at the time of their choosing, so any collateral damage would have been INTENTIONAL. Notice that the car's back wheels didn't make it up that tiny curb. Want to know why? Because the car wasn't moving that fast when the SEE EYE AY triggered the explosives they rigged to his car.

gonna be honest here, I can't take the 'NSA killed Hastings' scenario seriously enough to consider discussing it farther.

Hastings was probably headed to his gf's house for a piece of ass and was in a hurry, godlike, I love that one Danky, thanks.

this statement alone proves my point about the conspiracy theorist mindset:
but like i said earlier, just because it is a godlike situation there will never be much hard evidence to prove this unless an intelligence member breaks down and figures out a way to come clean to the media about this situation...

you're ready to believe the first clown that jumps out of the clown car if they'll admit to killing Hastings and yet you make NO mention of believing someone who comes out and states that the govt had nothing to do with it. Sorry Danky, not buying.

you conspiracy theorist types are hard wired to believe you're getting a fuck job from your govt, you ain't never gonna be happy, not a single frigging day as long as you think someone's boinkin' ya from behind. :D

each and every day we're one step closer to the grave, the difference between people like me n' you is that I look in the mirror to make sure my hair's parted right, you look in the mirror to see who's sneaking up from behind. Paranoid & delusional is NOT how I'm gonna travel through life.

IMO it's not really important whether Hastings was killed. He's dead. His family has to deal with that.

Those who don't mourn him personally face a far more pressing question than "did the govt kill him?" That question is "Has our government shown they are cynical enough to kill a reporter who was onto something that might implicate the feds in a horrible crime?"

The answer to that question is important. Whether they did it in this instance or not, it seems to me, is small potatoes. The question is are they capable of doing something like that?

Or if you're really cynical (me), the answer is "i'm such a peasant working class who gives a shit that wasting five minutes of my life masturbating myself over delusions of civic-minded anarchy is a laugh. It'll never happen. These questions are for men born into wealth, those who aren't should give up the search. This country was bought and sold a long time ago. I'm gonna text mom and tell her I love her, because that's real. tangible."

btw conspiracy clowns, was it the CIA??? the FBI??? or the NSA??? it couldn't be any 2 or all 3 as the govt doesn't work that well together.

you're all mixed up pointin' your little cap guns at anything that moves.

Ah, missing the forest in spite of the trees. There are people I have met who just take a point within a discussion, make their own judgment about that particular point, despite what the discussion is about, and argue that particular misjudged point. Some people seem just to like to argue, sad actually. I refuse to do that. That is just another form of trolling.

Actually I prefer looking at Spy vs Spy in Mad Magazine *****. Seems like the facts of it, just as much, or more, than the reality. What are they really accomplishing here? Do you really feel any safer from terrorism, in the past few years, from all the spying going on? I think it's just the opposite in reality. I think they have caused terrorism to expand and strengthen in order that they could strengthen their own self interest at the expense of the people. That is, after all, all that what has really happpened. They can say but our homeland has not been attacked. Not true. Boston bombing doesn't count? And it's all just speculative, wishful, coincidental thinking anyway.

Snowden just pointed out the facts of what we all thought could happen but didn't believe anyone was really dumb enough to actually do.

since you didnt care to educate yourself, The United States Intelligence Community (IC) is a federation of 16 separate United States government agencies that work separately and together to conduct intelligence activities

600px-US_Intelligence_Community_members.gif

and by the way, they are all pretty much controlled by booze allen hamilton, a private company composed of government officals:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xcbi5SH27c

enlighten yourself please... people who are quick to call people conspiracy theorists and try debunk them with snarky off based statements while they are at it are often very ignorant people if you ask me... yeah ignorance is said to be a bliss, but unfortunately america cannot handle much more ignorance amongst its people....shit is only going to get worse if americans choose to remain ignorant and feel like helpless peasants who have no way of ever achieving the finer things in life.... that ignorant peasant mentality has to go...

Italian magazine says U.S. spies listened to pope, Vatican says unaware

Italian magazine says U.S. spies listened to pope, Vatican says unaware

(Reuters) - An Italian magazine said on Wednesday that a United States spy agency had eavesdropped on Vatican phone calls, possibly including when former Pope Benedict's successor was under discussion, but the Holy See said it had no knowledge of any such activity.

Panorama magazine said that among 46 million phone calls followed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) in Italy from December 10, 2012, to January 8, 2013, were conversations in and out of the Vatican.

In a press release before full publication on Thursday, Panorama said the "NSA had tapped the pope". It cited no source for its information.

Asked to comment on the report, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said: "We are not aware of anything on this issue and in any case we have no concerns about it."

Media reports based on revelations from Edward Snowden, the fugitive former U.S. intelligence operative granted asylum in Russia, have said the NSA had spied on French citizens over the same period in December in January.

Last week, the German government appeared to confirm that Chancellor Angela Merkel's cell phone had also been monitored by American spies. The issue has also caused Washington problems with Brazil and China.

Panorama said the recorded Vatican phone calls were catalogued by the NSA in four categories - leadership intentions, threats to the financial system, foreign policy objectives and human rights.

Benedict resigned on February 28 this year and his successor, Pope Francis, was elected on March 13.

"It is feared" that calls were listened to up until the start of the conclave that elected Francis, the former Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina, Panorama said.

The magazine said there was also a suspicion that the Rome residence where some cardinals lived before the conclave, including the future pope, was monitored.

OK
let me start by stating again, Michael Hastings died in an accident, it was not murder. I've looked @ the photos and imo it adds up to a high speed collision w/a big ass tree.

I hear ya Danky, snarky's not good, but I don't live in a rabbit hole either.

So if you read where I mentioned clowns twice you'll see it was never directed solely at you, not at all; if it makes ya feel any better share it freely amongst all of you equally. :)

but talk about snarky!!! pulling out the old 'intelligence' ploy, the last resort of conspiracy theorists to put the supposed dunce in a defensive position, nice try and I still ain't buyin'. btw, this ignorant peasant paid off his house 9 years early back in '08 and I have jing in the bank, car's paid for etc so I really can't relate or comprehend where you were going with that statement.

1's and 0's in the bank are a double edge sword. On hand gold, silver, and minimal paper is another story.

"she wrote, the police continue to ignore "requests made by San Diego 6 News for the police report, 9/11 call, autopsy, bomb squad and toxicology reports, or make the Mercedes available for inspection." The police department's reluctance to comply with Dvorak's requests "only fuels conjecture," she added. Dvorak recently received the 911 calls, which she suspects the LAPD may have given her to defy federal officials who are covering up the investigation, and says she's enlisted the help of Judicial Watch, a conservative legal watchdog group funded by billionaire media mogul Richard Mellon Scaife, as she continues to file public records requests with local and federal agencies."
